it was awful!!! the car needed a new catalyic converter pipe- fine your mechanic told me it would need some bodywork on the rocker panel to pass inspection ok, I went to pay in cash $900 and was denied discount for paying in cash because I was not a AAA member- not fine, I brought the car to Jasmine auto for an estimate in the rust repair and Tobie stated the car has CANCER- not able to fix- surely your mechanics know what rust can and cannot be repair- I drove the car for 2 days and the engine light came on again- back to garage-roger informed me it was a possible leak in the fuel line- i asked for an estimate of cost in case the band and line was damaged if removed- he did not give me an estimate but told me BOB Service Center did not have the equipment to test the fuel line- and I should bring it to a Chevy dealer . Really feel I was dumped on!

Kim, I'm very sorry your visit was "aweful". In the attempt to diagnose the cause of your check engine light, step 1 is to verify that there are no vacuum leaks. We did that and found none. Step 2 is to confirm that there are no exhaust leaks. We found an obvious exhaust leak at the pipe leading from the engine which includes the catalytic converter. The manual further states that these leaks should be repaired and then retest the system to see if the problem was corrected. If not, the next step is to test the fuel system pressure. Much to my dismay we did't have the adapters needed to access your fuel system even though the pressure tester that I bought within the last year was portrayed as a top of the line "master fuel pressure tester" by the Snap-On tool dealer. Now I'm told by Roger that he informed you of the rocker panel issue BEFORE we did any repair work. Because we are not a body shop and aren't completely familiar with what rust issues can be repaired and which ones cannot, Roger suggested that you get an estimate for that first. He tells me that you gave it some thought and then called him back to say go ahead with the repairs and you would deal with the rocker panel issue later. As far as the "cash discount", we don't offer a "cash discount" even though paying in cash does save us about 2% in credit card fees. We do have an arrangement with AAA of Northern New England to provide their members with a 10% discount provided they produce a current membership card. Over the past 9 years you have spent a lot of money with us. I certainly hope you will give me a chance to win you back. I'll try to call you later today. Thanks, Bob
