"Fixed the problem, may have caused a new one"
Alternator needed to be replaced. They also replaced the belt for no additional labor cost. Got 5 miles from the garage before the car started overheating. Added coolant which completely drained within a mile. Turns out a thermostat/coolant connection next to the new alternator was broken and caused all coolant to drain out. This shouldn't have happened, or at least should have been caught by the garage before they gave the car back to me.

I'm sorry for what you had to go through with your vehicle after we had replaced the alternator.  I assure you that we test drove the vehicle prior to you picking vehicle up and there were no signs of leaks or overheating. If the thermostat was broken we would have had a big puddle of coolant at our facility prior to pickup and you would have been contacted. Sorry for your inconvenience.
