Hacham said he took his vehicle in for small problem, and was quoted an original repair fee of $400. However, two hours later, the estimate had gone up to $1,000, and after declining the additional repairs and fees, he was billed an extra $140 for changing the bill. He said that whoever is at the register should be nicer, and he did not feel that the customer service was friendly.

Mr Alaoui, when you brought your vehicle in, you had an overheating problem and a bad serpentine belt.  The fan relay shorted out and melted the plug connector.  You had to have a new relay and wiring connector to make the fan operational.  At that time you approved a new belt, relay and wire repair.  We were not aware the cooling fan had a problem until we replaced the relay and restored power to the fan. When the tech replaced the fan relay he found the cause of the short was excessive draw from the cooling fan.  Before we proceeded with any additional repair, we called you for an approval.  You declined the additional repair so we did not fix the cooling fan issue.  When my service writer spoke with you, you declined the repairs on the cooling fan but she understood you still wanted the serpentine belt replaced.  When you came to get your vehicle and said you did not approve the belt replacement.  We apologized for the misunderstanding and we had the tech re-install your old belt.  We did not charge you anything except a small diagnostic fee of $37.29. Sometimes when you begin a repair additional problems are found.  That is why we called you for approval.  We do not make repairs without approval.  If you do not feel you were treated with friendly customer service please give me a call at 936-539-3040 so we can talk about your experience.
