I had my glass replaced on my 2008 Jeep Commander, the rubber seal at the bottom of the glass is connected to the cowl covering and it was torn and dry rotted. The technician told me that normally it is not replaced and that it would have to be approved by the insurance company, when I made the appointment via telephone the customer service rep told me that all seals would be replaced because I informed the representative that the seal on the bottoms was frayed and dry rotted and I knew if the glass was to be replaced it would cause further deterioration of the seal. I just thought that the piece should have been replaced even if I had to pay for it because the seal flaps over the bottom of the glass and it is aesthetically unappealing in the current condition
