Hello Robert and thank you so much for reaching out to us. Your Scion comes equipped with full synthetic motor oil. This oil is due to be changed every other time the vehicle comes in - every 12 months or 10,000 miles (whichever occurs first). You put very low miles on your vehicle. Because Scion covers the first five services for you at no charge, you'll likely be brining in your vehicle based on months driven, not mileage. The last time we saw it was September of 15 so based off the months elapsed, it was time to service it. However, because the oil is changed at 10,000 mile intervals, the "5,000 mile" intervals inbetween will not include an oil and filter change. Those services will be a tire rotation, fill up all fluids under the hood, and full vehicle inspection. This is exactly per the Toyota/Scion Owner's Manual. I'm very sorry if that wasn't properly explained to you throughout this process! It can be confusing to understand initially. We certainly don't want you feeling like you wasted your time in coming here because you are still servicing the vehicle to the exact needs as outlined in the Owner's Manual. I really appreciate the feedback and again, accept our apologies for not properly communicating. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
