Oil change gone very bad.
New guy tainting reputation. Was told my jeep takes 5 1/2 quarts of oil. "They don't do half quarts" so I would be charged for 6 he looks at me to see if id be ok with getting screwed. I said just do 5 quarts then. New guy did not like that. When i handed over my keyless remote i said "be careful with this". "Don't drop it its loose". New guy offers to tape it. "Sure". I leave for two hours. Come back and no work has been done. We are pulling it up now just give us a few minutes. Guy comes back. Ummm ur car won't start. Yeah we haven't touched it yet sooo. I check my vehicle and it won't start. Good thing this happened here they say. "Bullshit". "My car was fine till i got here". I pop my hood and sure as shit the dip stick is up. They said they haven't touched the vehical at all. Obviously they had. I check my keyless remote and now it has tape on it. New guy put it on. The sensor can not be detected "all of a sudden". I open it up the keyless remote and the battery and clasp have been shifted and popped out of place. I adjust it and the Vehicle starts right up just like it did when i got there. So Art (old school employee or possible owner) says oh yeah u can get that fix at these two spots. "Just change my oil dude". Jeep comes back 10 minutes later. I pop the hood and check the oil. It does not look very clean. So I show Art. U changed this oil right? Yes sir. "Well it doesn't't look very clean". "New filter right"? Yes standard. "Ok". I get in the car and before i leave i check the digital read in the jeep and it says oil change required. I get out and demand Art explain this service B.S.! Art scrambles his peeps and they jump on YouTube to figure out how to program the jeeps oil change was done. This was the biggest joke service I have ever experienced. Art has always taken care of my vehicles. This new guy though..... i'd say they hired a crook who probably got fired from some where else for screwing over their clientele and getting caught. If I new the new guy's name I would post it. All I know is he worked the register that day. I will not be going back to 4th street auto.

According to our files, work done on your vehicle was at rear part of truck thus done elsewhere. Work recommended was at the front suspension. We're sorry for the misunderstanding but it is so noted. We did do Free inspection of your front suspension without fail so please take that into account.

Make Sure You Are Very Knowledgeable About Cars or Take Someone Who Is
I want to start by saying that I've been here around 4 to 5 times and most of the mechanics I've interacted with were very nice and helpful. The reason I am not going back is because of John, he was not fair with me the last time I took my car. I went to get the breaks checked and also to have the tires balanced because the car would shake when going over 60 mph. They said ok and quoted me around $250 for a "basic break check" and tire balance. When I came back to pick up my car, the actual charge was $323.20. The invoice was very detailed and each charge was explained so I paid and left. A few days later, I noticed the car was still shaking on the freeway so I told my boyfriend about it and he asked if he could see the car and the invoice. He said they did not balance the tires at all but still charged me for it. He also thought the charges for the break check were excessive so he called anonymously and they quoted him about $70 less than I paid for the break check. So he took the car back and watched them balance the tires and I was given a refund of $93. So in the end they did solve the issue (John wasn't there that day though) but I would still never go back and wanted to warn everyone who is not familiar with cars to take someone who knows about cars when you go.

Wish I could support local
I am not happy with my last visit.
The staff is always great and I loved going here to support local business.
Being charged $70 for a simple oil change on a Honda is astronomical. I’ve never paid that on any Honda I’ve owned.
Also, paying $50 for labor on a $10 light bulb installation is such a rip off.
As I drive off the lot my tire light is still on and another light is out, was my car just not inspected?
I’m incredibly disappointed in the up charge cost and will not be going here anymore.

Nice honest people
Went in for smog check. Said hi gave owner dmv paper work, was done in no time. Was told about a couple of issues that needed to be looked at. Paid and received certificate. I said thankyou. Bam done. Thats my kind of service no games no hassels.No problems.

4th Street Auto And Tire is my one stop maintenance..repair and tire center..I am been going there for years..Art and the crew perform maintenance and repairs on my vehicle at fair prices..if the repair is not needed..the customer will not be charged unnecessarily..I had not bought new tires in 11 years..Art explained they were cracking..unsafe and needed replacing..I was given a fair and competitive price on four new Goodyear Wrangler tires..balancing and alignment included..I'm a firm believer in if if it works..don't fix it..that's why I continue returning to 4th Street Auto And Tire..it would be nice if they were an authorized smog check facility..

Good service at a reasonable price
Went in for an oil and a cabin filter change; the service was done in a couple of hours. John is such a cool person to talk to. Wish they have better coffee?!!
