Attempted GRAND THEFT!
Ron (the owner) quoted me $1050 (4 hours labor plus over $500 for parts) to change the alternator and battery in my '04 Chevy Tracker, stating they were "notorious" for being difficult to work on, and that they'd spent an hour diagnosing the problem and "researching" the vehicles TSB's. I already had given them the diagnosis, and it takes less than 15 minutes to pull up ALL the TSB's issued for the vehicle. Ron tried to tell me there was a lot of rust, and it was doubtful they could do the job in the "book time". They also wanted to charge me almost 50% more for the parts than I would pay for them at ANY auto parts store. I declined and did it myself after work, in my drive way, in the dark and cold with just a work light and hand tools, in 2 hours flat. Total cost? $316.00. Bob & Sons Automotive is a RIP OFF!!! Go somewhere else to have your vehicles serviced if you cannot do the work yourself.

Hi Greg, We always respect a customers decision to save money and do the work themselves. After reviewing my service advisors' estimate and applying discounts we re-texted our estimate to do the repair at $812.93. You declined. I'm sorry we were not able to offer anything lower. Not happy
Way to over priced they wanted to charge me 2100 for it to pass inspection when I found all the parts for 600 with more parts then they said I needed. which there's no way it's cost 1500 in labor it's actually more then that because they were only going to change my rear breaks and rotors and I'm getting front and rear and they also were going to only fix my front driver side ball joint and I'm getting both front replacements. I understand they need to get paid for there time but that is highway robbery and I will definitely not be going back or recommending them to anyone

Pricing too high
Would be nice to know coat of looking at vehicle before getting blown away by extremely high cost for an estimate!

Patrick said he was told the problem was with his starter. They took it out and replaced it with a rebuilt one and the vehicle still would not work. They opened up the hood and discovered a wire was unplugged. They took back their starter and put back his own and still had to pay them $100 an hour for his vehicle being there and ended up paying them $470 for something they diagnosed incorrectly. He is not recommending them for this reason.

Way Over Charging
While they did manage to squeeze me in at a very busy time which I appreciate greatly. They wanted to charge me a little over $1,300 for brakes, oil change, air filter and a couple of other things on my 2009 Mazda CX-7. The full brakes - front and rear w/pads and rotors they wanted $1,000. I went elsewhere and to do my full brakes is $614. I was also charged $91 for an hour of labor to look over my car and give me the outrageous estimate. Then they gave me brake fluid after I said that I was not going to get the work done there and charged me $13 more. While I appreciate the thought, I didn't ask for it and I should have been asked before they added more cost to my ridiculous estimate bill. I understand that they don't say free estimates on their site but $91 is excessive labor cost.

Spoke with Bob. He said even though he had a scheduled appointment, he had to wait an hour and a half. The business said they were busy. He will not recommend for this reason.

Disapointed
Dear Ron, Last week I took our Camry for an oil change to your shop. I have been bringing our vehicles to your shop now for almost 2 years. I was told that I would need a new battery. I agreed to the cost of the battery. I was not told about an installation cost of almost $60! I did not say anything but decided to check around at other shops. I found that not only was the cost high but the folks I checked with all said that for a regular customer you just would not charge someone that cost. I came to your shop following Ed Lavallee. He has not worked on my vehicles for quite sometime. I have always tried to be loyal to whoever does work on our vehicles. I do not feel that I was treated fairly and will not be returning in the future. David French

Discussed customers' valid concerns & issued a refund for the installation charge. Service advisor was on vacation & technician was filling in for him & used book time to calculate.

Not so good!
I find that services are forced on you with many attempts to have the unnecessary things done. I find that Marc talks down to women and there is no respect. When I said no to a service for our car that was not necessary and we were trading the car in for a new one...he then called my husband and asked to preform the same unnecessary service. There is a lack of trust with this company. They do have the best mechanic...Ed Lavallee! Too bad the rest of the staff is untrustworthy.

Michael said he feels very disappointed in this business and feels like they messed up his vehicle by removing a bolt from the brake. He said the day after his vehicle was returned to him, it was driving differently and he was told that a bolt from the brake was removed. He would not recommend this business based on this experience.

Spoke w/ Mike on 4/29 and reminded him we ONLY installed 2 used tires to rear of vehicle to correct blown driver side tire. No other services were performed & brakes were not touched. Missing bolt is from fall 2012 brake job by other shop.
