Inspection
The representative was extremely rude when he was about to check me out. Had to stand there for 10 minutes before he paid any attention to me (he was busy attending to female customers who got there after me!) When I objected he threw my credit card on the table and went to get the manager. The representative who checked me in and the manager were very polite. I am still shocked they would allow someone do that to a customer that has been going there for many years.

I'm Reviewing ONLY because VA Tire asked foe the Review
1st: In this Customer's Opinion, Mike Holmes, I think your Surveys will help VA Tire, ONLY if Mike Holmes READS & HEEDS
2nd: I feel cold in your Cascades Store because of the COLD UGLY GREEN, and the Temperature Settings -- LAST Week when I was theire, the Thermostat was set-on 68 degrees, when the Out-Side Air Temp was fine as it was
3rd: ( I did most of my Service Request via telephone ) A woman Service Rep handled the Activity - I asked if the Battery had been Charged - She said NO, but that she was going to Charge Batt at NO Charge - WHEN I went to pay for Ford Truck Service, I asked again ( a SECOND TIME ) - It was then reported, that the Batt had NOT been Charged
4th: The Service in general, was satisfactory, but NOT YET 'Award Winning'
5th: "Recommending to a friend" -- You should have MORE than 2 Boxes to select -- YES -- NO -- MAYBE -- AND?OR SOMETHING ELSE

Thanks for the feedback Mr. Vordran, we do try to make the store as comfortable for everyone and will make an extra effort to accommodate you temperature requirements when you stop by. I have performed a refresher training course for the young Lady that you spoke to so this will hopefully not happen again.

Thanks Again,

customer service
first time this week, I brought my car in and they only gave me a safety inspection instead of including emissions as well. I specifically asked your counter person what I needed since it was a car just bought out of state. The car dealership said they should have known. So now I have to bring it back and wait in another long line. Not to mention they forgot to put the inspection sticker on my car which I hadn't noticed until after I drove away. The next day, I brought my other car for an inspection and I was told a 30-40 minute wait bc there was only 2 cars in front of me. It took an hour and a half.
Jason M. from Virginia Tire and Auto of Cascades responded on 05/15/2015

We apologize for the inconvenience this causes you.  Our staff is aware that when a vehicle is being registered to this state that both Safety and Emissions are needed.  We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention.  We will be discussing this with our team.  I had attempted to contact you so that I may get more information about your visits with us.  Please feel free to call back when it is convenient.

Jason M. from Virginia Tire and Auto of Cascades responded on 05/16/2015

I appreciate you taking the time to speak with me.  I am glad we were able to get your vehicle back in here to get the other inspection done.  We look forward to continuing to service your vehicles.  Please let us know if you ever have any other questions or concerns.

Wrong advice
Came in for state inspection. Agreed to new bulbs being put in. Came to pick up the car and was told by Mike that new bulbs don't work and I need an electronics eval at $114. Past issue made me say 'no' and took the car home. Went to Auto Zone, got new bulbs and worked just fine. Almost paid $114 for nothing...
Jason M. from Virginia Tire and Auto of Cascades responded on 05/14/2015

We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention and we understand your concern.  It is possible that the bulb we tried to use for the marker light was defective which lead us to believe there was an underlying issue.  I can assure you that once we determined it was just a bulb issue we would have not charged you the diagnostic as it would not have been needed if our bulb worked initially.  We apologize for the inconvenience of having to make multiple trips in.  Thank you again for taking the time to write this review.  I will be contacting you as well in-case you would like to discuss further.

Timelyness
I stopped the night before and they would not take me even though they did not close for 3 hours. The next day it took 1 and 1/2 longer then they said it would.
Jason M. from Virginia Tire and Auto of Cascades responded on 05/05/2015

We apologize for the inconvenience of it taking so long to have your state inspection performed.  With our inspections it is "first come first serve" and if the line is long they will stop taking in new vehicles in order to make sure that they can complete what they have.  We do offer a drop off service where we will provide a shuttle ride to and from our location to help make it more convenient for our customers. We appreciate your business and will make sure our staff is aware of the importance of accurately informing our customers of the wait time necessary to complete the requested services, I appreciate the heads up on this and will work hard to regain your trust if given the opportunity. Please feel free to contact us if you ever have any other questions or concerns.

You guys are scammers.
First of all, I took my car in for a 120,000 mile checkup and when you called me to tell me the price, you quoted me $2,500. Most of it was labor, and a technician named Dave told me I needed all these things that when I took it to Lexus mechanic (who charged me $800 for the 120,000 mile checkup) were not needed. Your store is only really good for inspections, and oil changes. You really need to stop overcharging people and tell the truth.
Jason M. from Virginia Tire and Auto of Cascades responded on 04/14/2015

We appreciate you writing this review and bringing your concerns to us so that it can be addressed.  I had looked at your invoice and I saw the estimate that was provided.  When going to the dealership and requesting a 120k service they have a package priced out already set with what they are going to do.  We do things a little differently where we will check over what is due at that mileage interval to see if it is actually needed as well as checking over to see if anything else is needed that is not part of the 120k service.  I believe that there was a miscommunication when the estimate was explained because there were different options provided for different services and the estimate for all the options came out to about $2250.  Of course your vehicle wouldn't need all the options for one service performed and the actual cost of the repairs would have been significantly less.  I had attempted to call so that I may go over everything with you but was not able to reach you.  Please give me a call back when convenient so that I can explain everything to you.  Thank you again for bringing this matter to our attention so that we may make it right.  Please contact us anytime you have any questions or concerns.  We hope to continue to service your vehicles and I look forward to speaking with you.

Terrible Scammers
I should report you for all the scams and money you probably get from people. You failed my car and I took it some place else and it passed, saving me the $800 that you tried to charge me. I am pretty sure this was not the first time you tried to scam me but I can tell you now that it is the last.
Jason M. from Virginia Tire and Auto of Cascades responded on 04/02/2015

We want to thank you for taking the time and bringing this matter to our attention.  I had attempted to call you as well in hopes to reach you to resolve this issue.  Integrity is very important to our company and we take these matters very seriously.  If at all possible we would like for you to bring the vehicle back in so that we may examine it together.  We hope to hear from you soon.

overpriced over the roof
Has been customer for years, but last visit felt like I'm in different shop. Simple oil change for 35$ + fees instead of usual 20$. Refusal to discount because I brought my own oil, refusal to price match competitor coupon only because I brought my own oil citing new company policy.
Will take hard look for other places when I need service again.
If simple oil change so overpriced, you better shop around before going with their service on any other repair.
Jason M. from Virginia Tire and Auto of Cascades responded on 03/27/2015

We want to thank you for writing this review and bringing this matter to our attention.  I had attempted to get in contact with you to speak to you about what had happened but was not able to do so.  I did speak to your wife briefly apologizing for the miscommunication during your visit.  We do in fact still accept coupons with this service.
Also, in case they did not tell you, with our Extra-Mile Oil Change we still perform our 25 point inspection whether or not our customers provide their own oil.  Thank you again for your time and please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Awful day
Too many issues to name. Gave me incomplete and incorrect information for a car repair. Made me wait well over 20 minutes to pick up my car. Seems maybe they have too much business to provide fair customer service any longer!

Inspection Failure
I took my truck in to get the safety inspection and it failed for 2 reasons. First was the right outer tie rod, and the second was the emergency brake light. You quoted me $292.23 (DS1439) for the right outer tie rod end and $109 (DIAG) for the brake light. These are grossly over estimated charges on the invoice. The right outer tie rod end costed me $16 at AutoZone, which I replaced myself. If you were recommending the Moog DS1439 Steering Center Link Tie Rod End, your invoice does not specify the center link. Summit racing or Amazon has the center link tie rod for around $100. That is quite a big difference between $292.23 and $100. The light was not the problem for the emergency brake and your technician mis-diagnosed the problem. It was actually the rubber stopper that hits the switch on the brake handle that was worn out. The truck is over 14 years old and this should have been an easy diagnosis for your tech. I replaced the rubber stopper for $3.
Jason M. from Virginia Tire and Auto of Cascades responded on 03/10/2015

We definitely appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention.  I did look into the price quote and saw that we did in fact quote you for a steering center link which is for a 4x4 vehicle when yours is actually a 4x2.  I do apologize for the misquote.  In regards to the parking light staying on, we actually did not perform a diagnostic.  It fails state inspection if there are any issues with the brake warning light but we do not proceed any further without authorization from the customer.  Our diagnostic fee is $109 but when we find it is something simple we do adjust it accordingly.  With parts pricing we can not compete with online vendors but we do offer a 2yr / 24k mileage warranty on our work and our parts.  Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns and again thank you for taking the time to write this review.

Poor Service
Car died. Had them check the battery we purchased with them. They said it was fine. Then over a 4 month period, car died atleast 4 more times! Finally took it to another car mechanic and he said the battery was bad. Virginia Tire finally agreed and gave us a new battery. No excuse!!!

Very disappointed in last visit!
My son brought his Jetta in for the second time for a air leak in the same tire. They still have not found the leak and I don't understand how you can't find an air leak in a tire when you submerge it in water and or put soap around the outside rim to see if any bubbling occurs. Yes to continue to add air every 3 to 5 days.
Jason M. from Virginia Tire and Auto of Cascades responded on 02/25/2015

We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention.  I have called and spoken to your son to get more details on what was going on with the vehicle.  We did submerge the tire as well as sprayed around the bead seal where the tire seals against the rim and found no signs of any leaks.  He is planning on returning the vehicle tomorrow so that we may install the spare tire on for him as well as inspect that tire again.  Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

customer service
I am a repeat customer who brings my 4 vehicles to Virginia tire on a regular basis. I brought my sequoia in because I heard a noise when I turn my wheel to the left. I asked if they could take it out for a quick spin to tell me what the problem may be. They said it would cost 125.00 for a diagnostic. I know that if they just took it out they would be able to tell the problem. This would of been the right thing to do for a customer who gives you a lot of business. I then took it to sears who had no problem doing this at no charge. They told me the problem and I let them fix it at a cost of 400.00 which Virginia tire lost because of the lack of customer service. Not only that but I will no longer bring my cars there and I will ensure that friends know what kind of service or lack of you provide.
Jason M. from Virginia Tire and Auto of Cascades responded on 02/10/2015

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with us with your Sequoia.  We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention so that we can make things right.  I did see that you have been a customer for many years and we appreciate your business and loyalty to us.  I had attempted to call and touch base and get details on your experience to no avail but I will continue to try.  We hope to get in contact with you soon.  Please don't hesitate to bring any other questions or concerns to our attention.

Took almost 5 hours just for a safety inspection. That is ridiculous no matter how busy you are. Took our other car to the Sunoco in Countryside for an inspection and done in 15 minutes.
Jason M. from Virginia Tire and Auto of Cascades responded on 02/03/2015

I do want to apologize for the inconvenience of it taking so long to have your state inspection done.  We tend to have a longer line at the beginning and end of the months, especially on the weekends.  Our inspections are first come first serve but I will definitely be going over this with our staff to make sure that they are setting realistic expectations with our customers.  We do offer a shuttle service to help accommodate our customers.  We will drop them off and pick them up when their vehicle is ready.  I appreciate you bringing this concern to our attention.  Please don't hesitate if you ever have any other questions or concerns.

bad customer service
It took an hour to get my oil changed and i was the only car in line.

Then, the clerk at the desk brought out a paper with things listed that were wrong with my car. I asked him if i could have the paper for future reference and he said yes. Then, upon check out i asked for the paper and he then change hmmmind and said i couldn't have it. I asked why and he said he printed off all the issues with my car on my final receipt. So i studied the final receipt and several items were missing. I then asked again if i could have the original paper and he gets serious attitude and says "i already told you no". I then corrected him and told him he first told me yes, and then no. He then rudely asked if i wanted a xerox copy of the paper and i said yes, please. It seems like it is hit or miss at this store. I either fantastic service, or absolutely horrible service. This time it was the latter.

"ialready told you no".

Costly Repairs
This places services are outrageously priced. I was quoted repair prices for several different repairs. The same repairs were $100 dollars or more cheaper if I took my vehicle to a dealer. I will NEVER have service done here again. In the past, I bought tires for two different vehicles. Worst tires I have ever bought. One vehicle they made adjustments 3 different times after purchase. When I hit 60 mph it feels like I am driving on cobblestones. Never buy tires here.

Last time coming
I got to this place early in the morning and when I mean early I was the first person in the door at 7 am. I went to replace two tires that I bought on my own that were already in the back seat of the car as well do a alignment check. They charge about 60% to do a alignment check when places like Sears charge it for free. So I waited for a hour and half when ask my eta on my car to be finish mind you I'm the only customer there. The sales rep said they just finish putting on my two tires on and about to get the alignment check. I had to cancel the alignment check and got no helpful service. Someone who came after me got out before me. This is not the first time they take there sweet time I rather go to Walmart or Sears to do any car service. Hell I rather pay more at the dealership
