Convenient and quick
Last time I dropped my car for a maintenance and inspection. They did it quick and no expensive. The only downside is that the person in the front (Marta) really sucked at customer service, did not smile like if she didn't want to be there or she hated my gots.

Good customer service
After my review, I received an email and call from the manager who wanted to know what happened, apologized, and refunded my money for the diagnostic work they charged. My husband has used them for many years so maybe this was an inadvertent fluke.

Good then disappointing
My car was having AC problems and the transmission was being problematic. I asked the folks here to fix the AC and to let me know how soon I would need a new transmission. They told me by phone and on the report that there was nothing wrong with the transmission. They charged me $114 for the diagnostic to drive it and make that determination. The transmission went out entirely 2 days later. V disappointing that I had to be inconvenienced again when they could have addressed it had they the expertise to do so.

customer service
first time this week, I brought my car in and they only gave me a safety inspection instead of including emissions as well. I specifically asked your counter person what I needed since it was a car just bought out of state. The car dealership said they should have known. So now I have to bring it back and wait in another long line. Not to mention they forgot to put the inspection sticker on my car which I hadn't noticed until after I drove away. The next day, I brought my other car for an inspection and I was told a 30-40 minute wait bc there was only 2 cars in front of me. It took an hour and a half.

Very satisfied with the resolution
I do not want the lack of communication of one employee hurt the reputation of this company. I have coming to them for years. It turns out the employee failed to advise his manager of the issue. I received a call from the manager within an hour of posting this review and he took care of me. Excellent customer service!! I'm back as a customer!

Sadly disappointed in VA Tire
I came in for a routine oil change. I have taken 5 cars in for maintenance here for myself and my sons. I have always been satisfied - except for this time. I was brought dirty air filters to look at and asked if they could replace them. I said yes, but only if it didn't take long, as I had an appointment to get to. I was told no, not long at all, 30 minutes tops. An hour and a half later my car was ready. The guy behind the counter did not offer any explanation for letting me wait this long except that its what he was told. He didn't follow up or try to troubleshoot. When I asked for compensation for the long wait, he said all he could do was a couple bucks off my $200 bill. Then he said he would have the manager call me personally. Still waiting and it's been over a week now.

dont go there
brought my car in for the air suspension. cost 780. to fix and it is worst than i brought it in
also you have the wrong info regarding my car in your survey, wrong liscense number and milage. maybe you did the work on the wrong car?

Problem resolved
Virginia Tire & Auto resolved the issue with my oil change by promptly replacing the oil and, in essence, not charging me for the first oil change. I plan to continue to use Virginia Tire & Auto in the future.

Oil change confusion
I took my relatively new (9,800 mile) Nissan in for an oil change and selected the Mobil synthetic blend. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it was also a high-mileage oil. I wish one of the techs or advisers up front would have informed me of that, as my car did not need the additives (seal conditioners) put into high-mileage oil. While it is partially my mistake for not catching it myself, a little advice would have save me the extra money and possibly the problems the seal "swellers" the high mileage oil can possibly create. With that said, I have used VTA of Cascades many times in the past and overall have been satisfied. My feedback here isn't indicative of the service and advice I normally get, but rather a suggestion to VTA personnel to be a bit more attentive to potentially wrong choices of oil products.

Get second opinion
Service was great. However, I got a phone call during service that my tire treads were worn out and that they recommend replacing tires. I checked with Costco tire dept and they said I have another 40 percent left in my tires. Always get a second opinion if they advise you need tires.

Did not provide services correctly
Came in for oil change and tire rotation. Oil was leaking the next day and found tires were never rotated as stated and charged for. A one time visit ended up being three different visits.

I have been coming here for a couple years now. I came to get my oil change & safety inspection only and when it was done I was told something was wrong with my car and the check engine light was coming on. I let them know when i brought it in my car was perfectly fine which it was. They didn't know what to tell me and looked at me like i didn't know what I was talking about. They didn't even offer to take a look at it since it might have been something that was accidentally done there. So I left and called my mechanic and when he checked why my car to see why my car was shaking and why the check engine light was on....mind you that light has never came on not once ever since I had that car...he said there were some lose cables in my car.

Poor customer service
We dropped our car off for emissions/inspection, we were told it would take no more than an hour and a half. We called two-three hours later and were told it wasn't ready and that they'd call when it was ready. I called back thirty min. later and was told again that it wasn't ready, so I told the person on the phone to send the shuttle to pick me up and to stop inspecting the car because I didn't have any more time to wait. He put me on hold and transferred me to service. The guy in service claimed that he had called a while ago to tell me that I need two wiper blades to pass state inspection. I told him that my cellphone, which is the number I left for them to call, never rang nor did my house phone and both of which showed no missed calls or voicemails. His response to that was "oh, well I did try calling. What would you like to do about the wipers?". I was peeved about the way he didn't care about the inconvenience I was caused, waiting a lot longer than I should have, and the lack of apology for never being called. I know that one of my wipers needs to be replaced, but the other was just replaced a few months ago and is in fine working condition. I think you guys care more about up-selling products whether it is needed or not and getting every dollar you can from ever car that goes thru the shop rather than focusing on customer service and making the customer trust you. Needless to say, after I get the car reinspected I won't be returning.

Suspicious Failed Safety Inspection
I was very disappointed that my vehicle failed due to an apparent leaking strut assembly. when i asked the service writer to show me and explain how the strut assembly could have slight, old, dried fluid residue on the bottom end of the strut which was a solid piece of metal but there was no fluid on the actual strut and no residue on the actual strut, he was unable to give me an answer. I explained that this fluid could be from anything, what proof is there that the strut is leaking, he was unable to give me an answer. This was disappointing as it seemed that the tech saw old fluid residue and saw dollar signs instead of verifying that the strut was indeed leaking. Fluid residue on any part of the car cannot be sufficient proof for failure of state inspection. I have been a constant customer for the past 7 years, and this is quite disappointing, i will not be taking my vehicles to a place where the tech is using the safety inspection to write up high dollar parts.

Picked up my baby 2004 Toyota Solara and drove home with nail in tire; not sure if nail attacked tire on way home or tire fought nail at shop. Back again to fix. Staff provided solution supported by store Manager.

Botched a Simple Oil Change
I went for a simple oil change and they did not install the oil filter properly, leading to a seized engine and hundreds of dollars of repair work.

Pricey but fair and professional
I brought my car into VA tire and Auto of Cascades for a brake inspection. Upon getting under my car the technicians discovered the undercarriage was coated in engine oil which had been leaking. They showed me everything they found and explained it to me in a simple manner. After getting a degreaser package and coolant pressure test it was determined that my head gaskets were leaking coolant and oil. I decided to shop around for service and actually found that the Subaru dealer ( I have a Subaru) was going to charge me about 25% less than VA Tire and Auto so i decided to go with them. The one issue I did have with VA Tire and Auto is the amount of markup they wanted to charge me for the parts involved in the head gasket service. 200% more than the authentic Subaru parts that the dealership used for generic brand auto parts. Be wary of this. Other than that they are honest and trustworthy from what I could tell from my experience.
