Victor said while the business tried to repair his vehicle, they pulled his engine apart and then wanted to charge him to put it back together. Now he needs to purchase a new engine that he cannot afford so he is without a vehicle.

Mr Hansen's vehicle was towed in because the engine over heated. After our initial inspection, we suspected it had blown head gasket/s.. We estimated a price range between                 $2,175.00 to $3,995. Mr. Hansen approved intial repairs. He was advised that there was the possiblity of further parts/repairs needed, which was unknown until disassembly. After the cylinder heads were removed, we found engine block damage. Mr. Hansen was informed of the block damage. At this time Mr Henson denied the higher price repair. He asked if we could reassemble the engine. We advised him that it wouldn't make financial sense to reassemble a damaged engine. Mr. Hansen accepted our advice and requested us to box up loose parts and leave them in the truck. He was charged $449.75 minus AAA discount for removal of heads (1/3 of the labor for head gaskets to be replaced) which was the work performed up to this point. He thanked us and towed vehicle away with his motorhome.

Sandra said it was not a good experience. When she took her vehicle in to be repair, this business called and told her different things that could be wrong with her vehicle. This vehicle was her son's, he is a mechanic and he helped her figure out the problem. They didn't look at the vehicle correctly and it was an unexceptionally high price.

Sandra, Thank you for the opportunity to check your vehicle, unfortunately your brother was not here to see all the rusted out brake lines and bleeder valves. This is a nasty job. Not many shops will do this repair. I'm sorry you did not agree with our estimate. Good luck with the repairs. Walt Jr. P.S. This is a northern vehicle and we did not charge anything for the inspection and estimate.

Wayland said his overall experience was terrible. He dropped the vehicle off on Monday, and it was scheduled to be ready by Tuesday, or no later than Wednesday. When he picked the vehicle up on Friday, they still had not serviced it.

Scott said he went to the business because he had a leak in his vacuum hose, which he told them. They charged him $50 to tell him about the leak he already notified them about.They also informed him it would be $800 for parts and $99 per hour for labor. He went and purchased the part for $280 and it took him about an hour to perform the service after the business informed him it was a two hour job. He mentioned he was inconvenienced because he had to shut his own business down and send his employees home so he could perform the service himself. He mentioned he felt the business was trying to rip him off. He also mentioned that he requested the business give him a used part quote but he never received a response. Due to this experience, he would not recommend this business for service.

After researching Mr. Scott H. remarks I found out everything he states is false and incorrect. We diagnosed the oil leak and informed him the oil leak was coming from the vacuum pump not the hose as he stated. My cost for the correct new vacuum pump is much higher than $280.00 and the total bill would have been $800.00 including labor and tax. 2 hours labor included diagnostics, cleaning (was leaking a gallon a day) and replacing the faulty pump. As far as shutting down his business and sending his employees home early, he should have done the repair after work or on the weekend to prevent down time during business hours. The truck was still operational after it left here. I feel Mr. Scott H. was looking for free trouble shooting and/or repair.

PS Mr Hublitz said to us the repair was gonna cost more than he paid for the truck.

Genuine Customer Care
All of the staff are very courteous, and helpful. Owner actually made a personal trip to assist with getting vehicle started to allow getting to their shop for service. Charged battery which had not been intermittently charged in over 4 weeks and checked system for problems.
With no located issue they had vehicle ready for pickup.
Thank you for the personal touch, the honesty and thorough evaluation and system check.

Great Shop and good people
I have been using Walts for years and recently bought this pickup has a local runner to Lowes for home repairs. Walt, Rusty, Eric and Crystal have always been friendly, professional and honest.

Walts Brake & More Service
Have been using Walt's Brake & More for over 5 years now with no complaints and only the best of service. Originally went to him due to his being AAA service and I was not disappointed. He services both of our vehicles and is the first place I've ever used that I do not have to check behind them to see if something has been left undone....this is important especially for my wife's car since we live in the country. Over the years I've been to places where the hood has been left unlocked, oil cap left off and in one case, after a front end alignment, the front end bolts were never tightened. Never a worry here, and I've never had them try to sell something that was unneeded.
