price for battery replacement seems excessive
I had to replace the battery in my 2014 BMW X3, which was becoming sluggish during engine starts. The new battery, an Interstate MPT95RH9 (which I knew would be expensive) was installed at a cost of $350 (total was $393 which included labor(?) taxes and other misc. fees). After the installation,I went to corporate Interstate website and found that their suggested retail price for the same battery was $201.95. I further called Interstate Batteries of Clearwater (a distributor) who quoted me a price of $206.95. Went back to Carnovale's with this information and was told their cost for this battery was around $300. In my mind they have either grossly inflated the nominal of this battery or have shown poor management practices in securing batteries from Interstate (distributers) at a reasonable cost to them and by extention to their clients. Sadly disappointed by this experience.

After reviewing your invoice all prices seem to be in order, however I can an issue with how our ticket was written that may have confused you. They combined parts & labor together for a total of $350+tax. Here's the proper brake down.

2009 altima
was offered a chance for car to be looked at again but decided to go some where else.

terrible service
my wife took her 2009 altima for a misfire they chaged the oil she did not request new valve cover gaskit and flushed brake lines new plugs at the tune of $550.00 and the car is still doing same thing very very sad perfomance gonna try to plead my case tomorrow ?

Spoke with Dane. He said his mother left the vehicle at the facility due to it running hot and being told not to drive the vehicle while it was running hot. The next day when they returned to get the vehicle, they were charged $88 for a diagnostic test they had not asked for or been informed of beforehand.

Hey Rosemarie,

I’m a little confused about this review because we did everything you asked. Your vehicle broke down and was brought in to our shop to check out. Your vehicle was overheating due to a faulty water pump; we found this leak after doing a pressure test we advised you of. We topped off your coolant (at no charge) and told you your vehicle was unsafe to drive. The only charge was $44.00+tax (1/2hr) for the pressure test that you asked for to find out where your coolant was leaking from.

Sorry for the confusion, I hope to jogs your memory to what actually happened, and remember to take a care of the engine issues so you can get back on the road safely.

Trust in their word that they do what they say and honesty
Carnovale went well beyond what needed repair and resolved an issue of persitant noise that had little to do with timing belt kit replacment. They are honest and reliable. I will return as a loyal customer.

Still having same issue with bearings rattling
Took vehicle in on 04/29/2014 for timing belt and water pump replacement due to "rattling" of bearings or water pump going bad. Timing belt kit and water pump replaced. I paid a total charge of $1,010.08 I took vehicle back several weeks after because bearings or water pump still making excessive rattling sound. Original issue of noise never resolved and may have to take vehicle to Toyota dealership and/or contact News8on your side.

nightmare
very dishonest service. At the beginning Frank was probably a good guy but when it came to admitting wrong doings, Frank and his mechanic aren't capable of. Their servie had cost me $1600 yet I had to take the car somewhere else to fix it. Frank promised to pay me for the towing expenses...he never did...how dishonest is that from a rich business owner????

two rides home
Thanks, for driving me home twice. After leaving the house key at the shop on the first trip.
Wife was upset that her satellite radio was not working when she got home.
After some research and going through the fuses, which were all good.
She opened the hand unit to replace the battery and found the battery to be inserted wrong.
So, she flipped it over an bingo, it worked.
Mechanic must have tried to get it started after resetting everything.
And, he would have succeeded it he had put the battery back in right.
The A/C coolant is low, so I am going over to the SAAAB shop tomorrow to get that topped off
and to turn off the need--service light.
Didn't you have a Saab mechanic there awhile back?
2010 was the last year they were made and some owners, like my wife, are hanging on.
The SAAB Store in Tampa seems to always be busy and it wastes half a day going over there.

It's not a problem driving you around, we’re happy to provide rides as needed for our customers!

I looked over your work order and I didn't see any request for radio or fuses to be checked. If there was an issue with an aftermarket satellite radio head I recommend bringing it to the original installer. I’m not sure what your referring to when you say, “A/C coolant” if you mean A/ C Freon or radiator coolant. I also checked the techs notes and your A/C was not noted on the form to be functioning improperly, and coolant was topped off as normal. Unfortunately we do not employ a "Saab Mechanic" if you want a Saab expert we recommend Saaab Store in Tampa.  Hope this clears up any confusion on your part if you’d like us to take a look at your A/C or Coolant System just give us a call.

Albert said this business specializes in foreign vehicles. He said they ordered the wrong part twice and had to keep his vehicle there for a couple extra days. He looked under the hood and there was a wire hitting a belt that he had to reposition. Also, the sponge insulation is no longer on his battery. There is also one wire that is not connected to anything and he doesn't know why. They need to take notice and pay attention to detail. Frank was very pleasant and he wants to do his best. He appreciates that Frank wouldn't release his vehicle until it was ready.

Brooks said he had a simple vehicle repair that he took in to this business early in the morning. Later in the afternoon about 3 pm, he called for the status and was told it was ready. This business never called to inform him that his vehicle was ready. He also said the repairs were too expensive, and not done right. Andrew said the business gave him a quote for the repairs and told him his vehicle would be ready on Tuesday or Wednesday. He had not heard from them, so he called Friday and they told him they had to wait for parts. They told him it would be ready the next Tuesday. The original quote they gave him was $2000, but they charged him $2600 and they did not tell him. His vehicle is running well and they gave him all of the old parts.

I think you might be mistaken about your figures, the final price you paid is exactly as quoted on you estimate. You must have forgotten you spoke with the tech and approved all the repairs we did. Great place would like to see more continuity in communication
I’ve brought my high mileage car in twice for oil pressure warning. Frank suggested switching to regular oil and that has worked out great. Two of my last three oil changes have been synthetic- and my earning light comes back on. There is a communication issue from customer to office staff to technician. I ask for regular oil because I know the default for my vehicle is synthetic- but I’m one for three getting the oil I need. Also same visit last week for oil light warning my “right” turn signal doesn’t work. Dash indicates “right” signal. Ross checked “left” side despite my note and dash indication. Now I must make time to come back to fix this also, along with getting incorrect oil type.
I realize honest mistakes are made. But there is also something to say about consistent mistakes being made. I like the shop and they are honest. I just know they can do better.
