Terrible service
Had issues with window not rolling down 5 weeks after purchase. Made appt, brought truck in they didn't have part. Made appt and had to cancel because of snow rescheduled and when arrived they hadn't ordered part because "GMC owners tend to not keep appts and they like to bill GMC owners for parts before they do the work".. I live 70 miles away. They wasted my time and and trashed GMC owners. Will never ever go back to Iron Trail motors and will tell everyone not to trust these people.

Poor used car service
The 2012 VW Jetta was driven home Wednesday evening (2-6-2019)and Thursday morning it would not turn over. Both of my other 100,000 mi + vehicles turned over and started without being plugged in @ 6°F @ 6am. Iron Trail would not come get the car to repair it. They said I would have to pay a tow truck to bring it to them. A few days passed and I finally got it to turn over by heating the starter with a hairdryer and brought it to them to fix the frozen starter. They called later that day (2-11-2019)to say they "tested' it and found it to start each time they tried it (now 20°F) . After a couple heated phone conversations about how even their brand new Chevrolet cars and trucks would not start on 2-6-2019, I convinced them to pull the starter and actually load test it on the bench on 2-13-2019. At 1:45pm on 2-15-2019 they called to say the starter passed the load test and all electrical connections were cleaned and reconnected.
Even though I acknowledged buying a used vehicle with only a 30 day warranty, I believe there was an exhaustive amount of pleading and urging on my behalf to get them to fix the vehicle to start as well as my old vehicles. When I picked up my vehicle on the 15th, I asked to talk to the general manager so that he knew how I felt being on the receiving end of their poor customer service practices. Although we had to agree to disagree, he did give me the time to explain my side .

Was satisfied!
Found out after leaving vehicle that had a sold sign on it ,to get down payment. Vehicle was driven over Christmas 400 mes by someone at the dealer. 3 weeks now and no admission or any compensation. Even though troy is a great salesman with awesome knowledge, won't be back

We got our second key along with the title. Iron Trail paid 89 cents we had to pay $2.61 for postage due. I guess buying a 26k vehicle the dealer didn't make enough to pay. In the words of our President "sad".

Warranty
18 days after buying a vehicle, the transmission started having problems and Iron Trail said they would not apply the 30 day warranty to fixing the problem because I had gone over the allowed mileage. The state of Minnesota has a used car warranty law that states car dealerships for used vehicles under 36,000 miles are warrantied for up to 30 days or 2,500 miles. The car I bought had only gained 2,000 miles and the dealership still refused to warranty

Bucket parade
Sales person was polite but not very knowledgeable about the vehicle we were buying. Then, as we waited for financing and paperwork, we were paraded around the facility with a bucket to get cheap trinkets (key chain, can coolies, etc) and honestly felt embarrassed... Overall experience was okay but not my best when it comes making such a large purchase.

The dealer sent us home with a key fob that didn't work. They put dealer advertising on the car after we asked them not to. They did not give us a temporary registration for the car. We did not get license plates for the car until after the temporary registration had expired.

Lemon?
I purchased a brand new car. Immediately it was found to have a bend in the door and needed to be repaired. This repair took 1 week. Shortly after that the check engine light came on and the turbo booster was found to be frozen. Apparently this is a common problem for the Chevy Trax. But... the warranty would not fix it permanently and I was sent home to wait for it to happen again. Which it did 2 days later. So now the car will go back to the shop after the part becomes available. 3 times in 1 month! It's frustrating to say the least. BRAND new cars should not have any problems.

After the sale customer service is terrible
After I bought my vehicle the customer service was terrible. It took a week of me calling to get a response from the dealership to discuss different issues that arose right after I purchased my truck. When my wife brought my truck in to get it worked on the dealership did not have a linen to use for the day that we we promised. When she brought the truck home they had not fixed all the issues. The communication between their departments is non existent.

Lied about vehicle
The service person was nice but Iron trail motors stated the vehicle was road worthy and they said they did certain things that weren't done and the price was higher then expected, upon other lies about the vehicle. My rating is that the owner is a lier and a thief.

friendly sales staff
I was comming from out of state to by a vehicle I reviewed on line. After several conversations with the sales staff I decided to purchase the suv...I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the sale staff was realizing that I has a long drive back . They processed the paper work quickly and I was on my way. There were follow up emails if I had any questions.i couldn't ask for a better experience .

could have been better
had to wait 3 hours to actually drive my car away from the lot. They neglected to tell me they had to jump start the car I was buying. So they had to go buy a new battery. This was my first time buying a car at a dealership. I think it could have been better. I also think that they could have explained that certain things were not mandatory and I could have refused them, like the power train warranty that I paid 2,000 grand for, that I didn't have to get. I guess I was super excited to get a newer car that I thought I had to get everything they said I had to get. I think trust is a big thing. If I am coming in to buy a car I should be seen as a customer, not an easy target.

trade in battle
What should have been a pleasurable car buying experience was anything but. I felt I had to do battle to get any value for my trade in. I had received multiple letters from your dealership asking me to bring in my Camry for "top dollar trade". For my 2007 with no rust, never been in an accident, low miles, interior like new-with no scrapes scratches or holes on any surface, the carpet needed cleaning, but little wear as I used plastic mats in winter to protect from salt, sand, and snow melt. It needed a windshield, as it had a chip and the tires only had about another 10,000 in them, Mr. Wagner said it pulled to the left, so "hopefully it only needed alignment", and, after 7 years of driving, it had a rock chip on the hood near the front driver side.
The NADA Clean Trade-in he showed me was $8050, it did not include the moonroof, which would actually bring it up to $8500. I pointed that out, but he brushed it aside with barely a comment, then he said with all these negatives, my car was a low end mid level trade, oh and he told me he was charging me a $400 refurbishing fee so Iron Trail could go through the car and get it ready for resale. This made me curious, as I had never heard of it before, so I called around to other dealers in the area to see if it was a new practice. They had not heard of it either, and one even laughed at the question, but when I questioned GM Steve about it, he confirmed that they do indeed pass this charge on to the customer.
So, I was offered $5300 for my car, saying we had to start somewhere. I told Mr. Wagner that I realized the company needed to make a profit, but my car had a lot more value than he was offering. He actually said to me that he wasn't looking to necessarily make a profit, but to break even. Really? I've never heard of a business that isn't out to make a profit!
When I told him I wanted to spend between $25-$26k, he said, "so if I can get you $25,999 you will take it?" That's how he was 'working with me'. When I finally agreed to to a figure that would reduce my trade from top end $8500, which I realize was never an option, to less than $6800, he said he had to get approval from GM Steve for that amount. He came back and asked if I could go just a little bit more- I said maybe the $48 that was part of a previous figure he tried to use. HE ROLLED HIS EYES and with a deep sigh asked if I could do $250. Why I didn't walk then, I'm really not sure; maybe because I had already been there for 4 hours and was tired of fighting. But, I offered then to split the difference on $250, and go $125 - which he tried to up even more. Once he got the agreement, he walked away to get the paperwork finished. He left some papers on the desk, one of them was the approval for the amount I had asked for, so he did get the approval, but had to take more from me.
Even though I didn't get what I felt was a fair amount on my trade, the fact that he charged me a refurbishing fee and then tacked on more after getting an authorization for an agreed on amount was really poor salesmanship. Will I tell others about my experience? Yes, I already have. And some of my female friends have said they are appalled at how I was treated by your company and are seriously reconsidering doing business with you in the future. I gave 2 stars because Melissa D. worked so hard to help me find a vehicle I wanted , and answered all my questions about the different vehicles I was interested in.
