We are truly sorry you were disappointed in the outcome of your last visit.

The new vehicle limited warranty for your Genesis had America's Best Warranty at 5 years/60,000 miles.  However, now your vehicle is more than 6 years old and has more than 70,000 miles on it, and there is simply no way for us to obtain coverage for your concern at this time.

Our goal is always to provide you with the very best service but unfortunately not even that allows us to re-write the parameters of your warranty.

So strange.

This was a half price oil change, in and out in under an hour, on the surface this would seem to have be a perfect service visit.

I would like to encourage you to share directly with me what it was that was "Not so much, I do not like" about your visit.

This is your second Hyundai you've bought and serviced with us and we go back many years now.  It has always been our intent to provide you with the highest level of service; and in reviewing with our team member you worked with that day, he thought your complete visit was plesant and he is at a loss to explain where this negativity came from.

Took the time to Repond to Feedback!
The entire Service team took the time and effort to respond to my original comments. That is important to me. It shows that they actually read them and try to address the issues that are raised. The costs are the costs...you either agree with them or you don't...the options are limited if you don't. If you want to maintain your vehicle properly, than it is a factor that you need to consider when you are thinking of making a vehicle purchase. Maintenance is something that many people do not consider because they do not keep cars, preferring to lose money every few years,and buy a new vehicle. For those individuals who prefer not to trade or buy every two or three years, maintenance is a factor that is very important. It is a choice everyone makes , whether they know it or not or consciously make the choice, the choice is made for them. I will continue my Service with this Team, because they take the time to actually listen to the customer.

Your recent service after 3 years was the most comprehensive service your vehicle has had during your ownership.  This was no small amount of work done, and we wish you saw better value in the work we performed.  The services performed include oil and filter change, tire rotation and balance, engine air filter, cabin air filter replacement, complete coolant system fluid exchange, 3 part fuel system service, in addition to our multipoint vehicle inspection.

Our goal is to help you protect your investment and enjoy many years of trouble-free driving.  Your advisor will reach out to review the work we did, why we did it.  The actual labor cost for your service was closer to $120 an hour which is below the market average in our area.  Itemized and compared to any of the other vehicles you mentioned you will find we are very fairly priced on these services.

Again, we are sorry we did not do a better job explaining the work and the value of the work we did for you while you were here, and if you ever have a question in the future, please let us know, we are here to help you make good decisions for you and your vehicle.  You advisor will reach out to you to review your concerns in more detail.

Valerie we are very sorry that this was not the service experience you are used to receiving from us.

We've been together such a very long time now, from the 2009 Sonata, to the 2013 Elantra, to the 2018 Santa Fe, to the 2018 Elantra, and now the 2019 Santa Fe.  While we do have many multiple Hyundai families, you certainly are among the most faithful and loyal.  We would very much like to make this up to you.  Although I can assure you both that Ben did apply your $5.00 off coupon, and our technician Shayne did test your battery, nothing can make up for you leaving us and still having unaswered questions.

We always want to answer any of your quesitons any time you are here with us or if you have questions about your vehicle after servicing.  I would very much like to speak with you directly so we can both review this particular visit and also so we can find a way to make this right and restore our long standing relationship.

My Kona is only six months old. The lift gate has not been right since I purchased it. Three months ago, a special part was ordered which took two months to receive. I had to call to check on it since service dept said they just didn't get to calling customers with special orders. Took vehicle in for repair, nothing changed. Need to take it in again.

Went Above and Beyond to resolve my issue
Surprised that I received a response to the feedback that I left. This dealer went above and beyond to answer all my questions I had. Planning on going back for a service when it needs it. Hopefully my 2nd time experience will turn out okay. All a misunderstanding.

Oil Change
Wish I was explained the difference between synthetic and regular oil. Since my car has a turbo engine they were going to recommend the next oil change at around 3K anyway so I wish I would have gone with the standard oil change since it's a lease anyway. Ended up paying $107 w/tax which is the highest I have paid. On my own car if I planned to keep I would consider synthetic to help the engine. My own fault I should have researched online first. Instead I paid almost 3 times more than I have ever paid.

Dealership is great, service department needs some work.
Took my car in for a recall and some other issues. Upon servicing, they discovered my fender liner was missing, which of course wasn't under warranty. Less than 12 hours later, after driving my vehicle for less than 15 miles, my new fender liner was dragging on the road. I had to take my car back in the following morning to have them fix it. This is the 4th time I have had to bring my car back after a day or a few days after its been serviced due to the mechanics either messing up something else on my vehicle during a repair or not properly fixing the repair in the first place. On top of that, the service advisor acted like he was doing me a favor by not charging me a second time for the repair they messed up on in the first place.

Consistently Disappointing
We went in to purchase two new Elantras in February. While we eventually got decent pricing on our trade-in and the vehicles overall, it was only after about 4 hours of hardball negotiating. After saying they would not, under any circumstances, be able to give us more than $750 on our trade-in, they eventually gave us $3,500. This is not the dealership for those consumers who prefer a direct dealership approach. While upon first impression they seem different, at it's core Earnhardt Hyundai is a wheeling and dealing car dealership like all the rest.

Upon purchasing two new vehicles, we were immediately bombarded with 5-10 weekly promotional and marketing emails. Their opt-out system does not work, and personal emails to our salesperson and finance guy were unsuccessful. Finally they sent me a letter explaining that it was their legal right to use my personal email for any promotional and marketing content, but their unwillingness to work with me to get off of their persistent email chain turned me off from ever purchasing from them again. Be aware that purchasing a vehicle from this dealership signs you up for constant emails. We have also received numerous promotional phone calls at both home and at work. Rest assured that after buying two new cars in February, we are not looking to buy again in July.

Finally, and perhaps most disappointingly, was our first service. We have noticed that the rear-view mirror on one of our Elantras was very slightly loose, to the point of sliding down so that it points toward the back seat every 3-5 days. While not a significant danger, this issue should be covered under warranty as the part is loose enough to require adjustments by us consistently, which is an irritation at best, a safety hazard at worst. This problem had been going on since we first purchased the car, and we decided to have them handle it at our first service appointment. A few days prior to going in, we hung a lightweight gym locker from the mirror to have easy access to it. It did not make the problem any worse, as it wasn't hung from the part of the mirror that shifted down. When I brought the car to it's first service, I explained that the lock was a very recent addition and the problem had nothing to do with it. I waited 1.5 hours for a simple oil change and they said they had used their hand to feel the mirror and couldn't tell that it was loose, and their diagnosis was that the lock might be causing the problem. They also recommended that I adjust the mirror back to where we wanted it if it starts to fall again (obviously that is what we had been doing since the beginning). They refused to replace the mirror since they couldn't feel the problem with their hand, even though we explained that the looseness was minor and happened over several days. I asked my service rep if he could treat the problem as though the lock wasn't there, but he said, "I can't pretend it's not, because it is." Finally, my service rep told me that they would have believed me had the lock not been hanging there and when I asked if I brought it in on Monday with no lock, would they replace the mirror, he said, "Probably, yeah." I should have just driven out, taken the lock off, and driven right back into the service bay.

All in all, this has been a dealership that is exceedingly friendly until they have your credit card. I am disappointed beyond words in their unwillingness to remove me from their email lists and their frustrating service department. While we have been pleased with our vehicles, they were in no way worth the hours we have spend begging them to stop calling and emailing us with promotional offers or their unwillingness to take our word on a small repair.

Although I would still recommend Hyundai and this dealership, on this particular day I had an appointment which was a huge disappointment. I had an appointment at 10:00am and my car basically sat at the service center from 10:00am until 4:30pm with no repairs done. Because I had not received a call from the service rep all day, I had to call the service rep at 3:30pm to find out that parts had to be ordered and it would take a week. Why make an appointment when no technician is available to diagnose your vehicle at the time an appointment is scheduled? I have to bring my car back to get fixed.

What you describe is certainly unusual.  We will look into your concerns and see why you did not receive your confirmation email regarding your apoointment or a copy of the work order when the work was complete.

Normally you will be advised through all stages of the work at our store and we do call and email after service to make sure there are no unanswered questions.
