The staff at Butler on Washington Road were very professional and nice. I explained to them that my radiator went out a day before my family was supposed to leave for a 1,000 mile return trip home. They did a great job assuring me that they would get the job done in time for me to still leave town on my scheduled date. I also requested an oil change on top of the repairs.
When I got my truck back, I noticed a slow oil leak on the ground, and radiator fluid sprayed all over the engine compartment. I called the shop and asked for them to rectify the issue.
I extended my stay an extra day, and they got the truck in and looked at it quickly. They determined that a faulty gasket in the oil pan was the cause of the leak, and replaced it at no charge. However, the issue of the radiator fluid all over the place in the engine compartment was never addressed. They simply said it probably just did that when they pulled the old one out. They didn’t clean it or even offer to.
The next day, my wife and kids left in the truck to return home. About 4 hours into their trip, they called me to tell me the brush guard underneath the engine had come loose and was missing two bolts. I can only assume the technician at Butler failed to securely reattach it after the work on the radiator. My wife had to use duct tape to secure the brush guard in order to continue the trip home. Had the brush guard completely come off, it could have caused extensive damage to my truck and potentially anyone driving behind it.
This lack of attention and care is simply not acceptable, and I cannot recommend this shop based on my experience. Had they taken care of the small details, I would highly recommend them. But they didn’t, so I cannot.
