Went in for brake noises, dropped the car to get an estimate. In a few hours received the estimate for rear pads and rotors, tires balancing, and rear sway bar bushings. Authorized job and it was done around 4PM that day. Upon driving immediately noticed louder brake noises (was the car road tested before I picked it up?). Returned to shop where mechanic tried grinding backing plate and machining the rotor- to no avail. Apparent defective rotor was replaced and car was ready by 9 the next morning. Was surprised to find a charge in my bill of $93 for "rear inspection". My experience is for work costing North of $600, there usually is no charge for preparing the estimate. Still, the place is convenient, and other than the mentioned inspection fee, prices seem fair, and work is good (still the question about road testing on first pass- think mechanic would have heard that brake noise).
