I have a 2004 Toyota Malibu with a lot of miles under her belt. So there are lots of potential problems and I don’t want to fix everything provided the car runs reliably and is safe. So the mechanic did the basic check up, spotted some issues but called me and suggested instead of replacing some parts we start with a $30 fix and wait and see. The car will tell me if there is still a problem. I really like this practical approach
