Review for Mister B's Auto Center

"Friendly service, efficient repair"
The dashboard battery light of my 2001 VW Beetle had come on so I took it for the first time to Mr. B's. I'd always had my car serviced at a VW dealership but it was getting increasingly expensive. Mr. B's diagnosed a bad alternator and belt and did a swift, efficient repair. It did occur to me afterward to ask if the alternator was new or rebuilt -- the assumption typically is that a new part is being used. They confirmed that a rebuilt alternator had been used. I really think service shops should be required to disclose to consumers up front the type of part that will be used. For the $600 repair cost, I don't think it was considerably less expensive than taking it to VW and getting a new factory alternator installed. Other than that, this was a good experience.
