2007 BMW 328xi

I enjoy the car's drivability. Fun way to get to and from work, as well as the occassional Sunday cruise in the mountains. Issues come in the fact that so much of the vehicle is computer based; i.e. no oil dipstick, no trans. fluid dipstick, etc. Have to put the vehicle on lift to check trans fluid level. Many maintenance functions can't be done by the average DIY because software must be updated. The GM Steptronic transmission is clunky and lacks the fluid shifting that I expect from a BMW automatic.

Not so Dreamy

When I first bought my car, I was ecstatic because I always wanted a BMW. The first two years were great. I didn’t have any problems with it. However, later on, afterwards, I started having all kinds of problems. Plus, the maintenance on it is really expensive. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have any regrets buying it. I think I would’ve trade it after a couple of years and got a new one.

This car has had some problems but Als auto care always fixes the situation so I no it's always in good hands

Overall good car

It has its share of ups and downs as any used car will, but, i wasn't happy with the ABS module going out with just barely a 100k miles that one part is $2000. Luckily I found a place in Idaho that rebuilds them, so with labor to remove it and reinstall it, it was just over 600. The car is fun to drive. Convertible top is great. The applique finish that is applied to the front of the cup holders and door grabs rubs off top easy as does pm the steering wheel. The radio display also dims put over time. Would 8 buy the car again? Yep. It's great on gas believe it or not and it's a great toy. Gotta take the good with the bad and make the best of it.

2007 BMW 335i

Wonderful car; have been driving BMWs since '76, and owned about every type 3 and 5 series from M10/2002tii and E12 through E39 and E90s. Our E90 335i is fabulous, now with 150mi on it. To do any substantive engine work, it's a major event that requires removal of major assemblies to access the proven high-rate of failure part. Over the past 12 years, we've replaced everyone of the "traditional failure parts" - not an insignificant cost: 4-window regulators, 3 door actuators, water pump (conveniently at the bottom of the engine), high-pressure fuel pump (again at the bottom of the engine), oil filter housing gasket, valve cover gasket (must remove all of the fuel management system), radiator fluid holding/fill tank, transmission rear seal; walnut shell blasting intake values due to carbon build up (traditional problem); dashboard cup holder assembly, all 4 of the 02 sensors (2 at exhaust manifold, 2 near cat converter). Great car, but sure wish that major assemblies had better MTBF (mean time between failure); would think that for a car of this value, these assemblies would be more reliable. Key to success is having a great mechanic - Jon and Kent at Import Autowerks are the solution local BMW driver should use.

BMW Repair And parts

It is good vehicle. The only problem is parts are very expensive in comparison to Japanese cars. Also labor is expensive. Not many mechanics work on German cars. Dealers are charge a arm and a leg. Manufacture should send coupons to current owners to attract business

BMW 328i Hard top convertible

That’s a fine Stellas vehicle is a BMW 328I Hard top convertible 328i series hardtop convertible 2007. I bought it used with very little miles on it for the year. However it it’s starting to be a little costly in repairs Even with the car shield warranty.

Sent in previously..little old lady driven less than 50,000 miles as original owner. Great pickup and corners beautifully. Newer models don’t impress me. Easy to park. While advertised gas mileage has NEVER been met I still love it. ???

I love this car, but……

I have been driving convertibles for 7 decades, from my first (1959 Austin Healy), through VWs, Chevrolets, Mercedes, to my last (and second BMW) this 2007 hardtop. This is my favorite, and not because of the entertainment value of peoples’ reaction to seeing the engineering feat that is the top going up or down! Rather, the BMW just rides and handles beautifully. BUT. It is, after all, a convertible, and therefore a two door, that requires some gymnastics to navigate the back seat, and there is a significant blind spot with top up. The mechanics of the top have gotten a bit dodgy pier the years: it sometimes seems to stick midway through, and may take 2-3 tries to complete the job. There seems to be no suggested resolution unless, and until, the top becomes permanently stuck. Could this be a reason why BMW no longer makes hardtop? I know the company claims it was because of the weight and that the hard top took up storage space, but the car is definitely quieter than a soft top (at least compared to the older models). I’ll drive it to the end (of either or both of us)!

2007 328xi, manual transmission 2 door coupe. One of my best purchases.

2007 328xi, manual transmission 2 door coupe. Purchased as lease return in 2010 from BMW SF Dealer. Drives like the practical sports car I wanted, handles really well on snow and ice. Service has been very good at the dealer but for some minor glitches in my last visit.

Best car I ever owned.

I bought this car used when it came off a 3 yr. lease with 30K miles on it. Besides oil and tires, I put a battery in it at 125K, rear brakes at 110K and front brakes yesterday at 146K. I now need rear shocks. The best thing I ever did was get rid of the run flat tires. This car rides so nice now, it's always handled well. The run flats were hard as rocks. The brakes are by the far the best I've ever seen. When I told my mechanic I was thinking of trading it in he said why? The only thing that ever fails on these is the tranny and that is rare. I have a standard and he said this car is good for 300K. Even with 145K on it I use less than a quart of oil every 10K miles. It runs exactly the same as the day I bought it. My wealthy brother came to visit me last year and I loaned him my car. He said "wow" I've never driven one of these before. I've driven lots of standards, but didn't really like the feel of the clutch when I first got it, but I'm used to it now. The shifter is great.

Love my BMW

Great car.... have it for 9 years with only minor issues. Ordered with manual transmission and the M-sport option. Tempted from time to time to get a new car, but never find anything I like more than this one.
