Quirky electrical issues

I love my roadster, Marta! But just spent #1,300 on diagnostics for issues related to "body control modules". Feeling lucky that after much research on BMW forums and with help from a great original dealer in SC, my 2005 actually has less on again, off again issues, than other Z4 years. Imagine turn signal light not showing up on dashboard means, honey, the top is not going down! Then, magically, a week or days later, turn signals light up and DANG! the top goes down! Alrighty then! That was one module out of over 25 that had to be tested. My favorite one, also hit and miss, was when the passenger side door lock 🔐 button wouldn't work; trunk and GAS CAP DOOR wouldn't open either! Get familiar with using a key at trunk and finding the green emergency gas cap pull cord. Wouldn't sell her for anything-been waiting for her to be affordable for over 15 years! She is all fixed, growls like a cougar and flies like a jet!

Fun drive

Great fun drive; but I wish to have a little more room. And wish the Bmw lifted it up from the ground a couple more inches.

Best used sports car value on earth

I bought my used 2005 Z4 3.0i in 2012 for peanuts. Seems like there are too many on the market. I love it -- handles great, really quiet at highway speed fully open. BMW knows how to control air flow. Outstanding. I'd buy another in a flash.

Best quality and most fun car I've ever owned.

Twelve years old, still looks and drives like a new car. Handling is fantastic. Road noise and wind has never been engineered so well. Top down at 80mph is fatigue free; you can hear the radio with ease! The electronics package is severely antiquated. It's getting pretty close to useless after 12 years. Bluetooth does not reliably pair with new technology. The screen is low resolution and looks terrible by today's standards. If I were buying a 2005 Z4 today, I would avoid the electronics. You can't criticize BMW for this -- it was the best of 2005.

Blue Z4 a2005

I have always wanted a convertible sports car. This car performance is outstanding. I have had her for over 7 years and have not had any major problems with her. It is a fun car to drive on the back roads of NC.

GREAT LITTLE CAR!

LOVE THIS CAR and AFTER 15 YEARS, I STILL GET COMPLIMENTS EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT. SO MUCH FUN TO DRIVE WITH THE TOP DOWN! I INTEND TO KEEP THIS CAR UNTIL I DIE AND I THINK MY GRANDCHILDREN WILL ENJOY IT AS IT IS TIMELESS.
