Pros and COontns of the PT
This car is comfortable on the highway. I have driven across the US and back two times, once pulling a teardrop trailer, The car was reliable, roomy but it does have some serious issues.
It is gutless. The little four cylinder engine offers little in the way of pickup although it can cruise reliably and comfortably at 75mph for hours. The timing belt need to be replaced tat approximastely 100,000 miles. This is an awkward, time consuming and therefore expensive job coting between 800 and 1000 dollars. Mileag for this car is on the low side getting about 24 mpg in mixed city and highway driving. On the freeway it does get nearly 30.
The post on either side of the windshield is wide enough to block the sight of a pedestrian and several times I have been supervised by a pedestrian who seems to have appeared out of nowhere.
Summary: I do like this car. I bought one for my wife and I am now on my second.
