My sprinter van is much better than expected

My husband and I purchased the van to get him from place to place easier with back issues. It is so easy to drive and park. It gets good gas mileage. The fact that it is basically an RV is nice as well. We have had it from coast to coast and loved every mile together

Fuel efficient tin can

Great passenger van for carrying a lot of people and gear, fuel efficient at 28mpg (diesel). But uninsulated, noisy, with a leaky roof. We added insulation. Gotta love the German “limp home mode” (nor kidding) which lets you drive at 30mph and no higher.

Short and Tall

Love my Diesel 118 Sprinter, got it from my late father, who used it as his daily driver. Now I get to use it for work, after market capitans chair makes driving comfortable. Gets a lot better gas mileage than my Gasoline truck. Able to go close to 600 miles per tank. Looking forward to building custom wood cabinets for the cargo area.

2006 Dodge Sprinter, Winn. View

We have owned the Winn. View since 2014 and have had no major issues with it. It is the perfect size for the two us and yet there is plenty of room for several grandchildren as well.

Great engineering & MPG

Ours is a 2007 Navion RV (by Winnebbago) on a 2006 Dodge/Mercedes Sprinter 3500 chassis with a 2.7L 5Cyl turbo diesel engine. Biggest complaint is finding an independent shop that will work on this 10 year old LOVE CHILD of Dodge-Mercedes-Winnebago. The turbo has an ABS plastic resonator before the turbo that should have been recalled due to defect in workmanship because everybody has had it go out where the welded seam splits. That causes the engine to go into limp mode (35 MPH max) because the OBD thinks the turbo is damaged. Once you have a good mechanic and access to the internet for weird warning lights you are good. Our RV averages 16+ MPG and hauls a lot of weight (full bath, kitchen, water, fridge, etc..) at highway speeds. Over the Rocky Mountains, through deserts, and just about anywhere you want to go. My 63 year old wife enjoys driving it too! Due to the narrow stance it sway in wind and wobbles going over small curbs at gas stations.
