Long Lasting

Acquired the vehicle new in 2004. Had the 12 cylinder engine option. Not the best riding van BUT very reliable. Why did Ford move away from these vans in 2019? The AC went awry as the units (there are two) and would not blow to the back three rows. I have heard this is common.

Quality

These vans ( my 3rd one, are of the highest quality. I don’t have time for fixing fuel gages and riskier dink little parts all the time, The Engines and Transmissions have never been an issue. I have gotten hundreds of thousands of miles on my vans and my kids wold tell me the person who purchased the first van from me drove it many years after that. I take care of. My vehicles with regular oil changes and would do ‘NOTHING’ but regular maintenance when needed. As long as I knew the tires, brakes and oil was up to date, I could drive to Alaska and back and not worry about any break downs. I don’t have time to fix, fix , fix like some vehicles require so I buy these. All I Do IS DRIVE Them. ‘PERIOD’ !

2004 Ford E-150 Cargo 4.6L

I LOVE MY VAN. It's had some minor repairs, batteries, brakes, alternators, etc. But nothing serious. I put a bed in the back and sleep in her on long trips! I have had this van for almost 18 years and it's really more of a friend than a vehicle. I'm trying to figure out how to be buried in it.

Quality for a very fair price

FORD is another “SUCCESS BY VOLUME” company. I worked at GM for 34 1/2 years but got tired of repair after repair on the trucks and vans. I couldn’t believe the vehicle prices were similar and sometime lower than the GM vehicles. FORD will be around for a long time as ‘immediate profits’ are not the primary goal. GM has cheapened everything from Transmission Solenoids to Ignitions and Engines. I like the Idea that with my ford vans all I ever did was general maintenance. Tires brakes etc. I did however replace a switch on my Cruise Control off warrantee for about $70 bucks but, I have 170,000 miles. It’s just amazing that I can go what seems like forever and not worry about the fuel gage failing and all kinds of annoying nickel and dime stuff while out of town especially with family. Sorry GM but customer satisfaction is way more than satisfying you investors.Cheapening everything to make them happy is a sure way to go into the cookie business. Especially in AZ where horse farms are not interested in all kinds of breakdowns with valuable horses in tow. They all buy Ford Pickups and say they don’t want to take time for silly breakdowns. Their horses are too valuable.
