1st Ford Pickup

Vehicle is 15 years old has almost 200,000 miles but does the job I need it to do. Could have been taken better care of previously. Carfax showed 2 accidents and a mechanical fire. Hopefully will get a few more hundred miles out of this vehicle.

2002 Ford F-150

Overall, this is a fairly dependable daily driver and workhorse. I bought mine used and commuted to and from work for nine years. It is a short cab, short wheelbase, V-6 model that fits my light duty, suburban needs. Ford did cut a couple of corners that are noted as inherently problematic in these models. Notably the gaskets around the two-piece plastic intake manifold can fail. Also the plastic heater-blend door in the AC/heater unit is almost totally inaccessible if it fails. Replacement calls for dropping the steering column and dashboard to access a $10 part.

F150 248000 miles still reliable

Essentially buy it marry it for life little things always wrong but fixable starts runs fair gas mileage most things easy to fix first 100000. Miles no problem next 100000 lots of repairs dealer not trustworthy $925.00 to replace 2 coils front end rebuild $1750 good on tires

My 2001 Ford F-150

Bought my F-150 new in 2001, now have 266,000 miles on it. Some pretty hard, since I tow boats, etc up and down the hill from Big Bear Lake. Have a 4x4 which I use regularly for that purpose. Have not had a real serious problem with the Truck. Just had 2 coils fail after 266,000 miles. And standard regular fluid changes. Would give my Truck a higher rating but have two minor complaints which are big deals for me. The front seat in the Lariate Model, are pretty poor in the support. I had to rebuild them a good shop to add effect seating support. That cost me $750, ooh and all the internal surfaces are round, you can't place anything, (glasses, wallets, note books etc.) anywhere but on the floor. This is a work truck, doesn't make any sense! But she runs great, mpg 15-17 up and down the hill. 22 mph on the Interstate. I would buy a new one from Ford, if they didn't ask $60K plus for one. They have to be joking! It's a work Truck....

It's a great truck! Performs as well as newer models. But it takes regular maintenance and little TLC. Guess you pay for your repairs or the high monthly payment! No free pass!

2001 F150 Supercab

Spacious interior. Lots of power for SOHC 5.4 engine code L. Truck drives comfortably and hauls comfortably. Raced a 2010 Tundra and kept with him until 3rd. Impressive power. Love suicide doors. Rear bench seat fits 3 perfectly.

Good running truck! Always repaired when problems were minor! I drove trucks alot newer, besides the electronics in newer vehicles, the ride is just as good! Do maintenance on regular schedule and get the most out of your ride.

So many electrical issues once they start.

Definitely takes effort to keep them on the road. Just like a ford, demanding. This comment section demanding 200 characters. Buy one, you either like it or you dont. They fun to work on once you narrow down the issue. Then another arises.

After many years of travel with family, pulling trailer or moving furniture it has always been reliable! We bought a newer model, a diesel for greater pulling capacity. Gave this truck to a family member with children. Other than needing a tune up and oil change still running great!!

This ladies choice.

I researched for a few years the pickup of my choice. When I narrowed down the make, models and years I could live with it came down to a used pickup with low milage, had not spent any time in any star with snow and ice, as well as meticulous maintenance records with only one owner. If it had the color I liked that was a bonus.

FORD 2001 4 DOOR WHITE PICKUP WITH 4.8 LITER V-8 ENGINE.

A first rate truck for sure--14 MPG in town, 18 on road with 1000 pounds of fertilizer and topsoil at 65 MPH. Smooth ride, easy in handling, and goes 100 k miles between spark plug replacements. Easy for wife to drive to assist on long trips. Just what an old farmer needs for his Blueberry farm at Hartwell lake 105 miles north of Atlanta. My first Ford pickup was in 1945 hauling grain from thrashing machine to grainery at farm. Four on the floor at that time. This one is automatic transmission and a lot easier to handle with power steering as well. Its only got 230,000 miles on it now, so think it will make300k before I stop driving. best JL Conrad Atlanta1

Dependable and adequate for our needs

Purchased used in stock condition with 188K. 4X4 Lariat, CC with off road & tow package. The truck was in fair to good shape and now I'd rate it very good after putting about $10K into it (includes new custom shell and a refinished "rack-it" lumber rack, satellite radio-navigation-b/up camera, new batteries, engine coolant filter, fluid service; r/diff, p/b, p/s, coolant, trans/trsfr case service, fuel filter exchange, steering rebuild, shocks, front brakes, keyless door lock actuators & cam sensor, rear driveshaft universal joint & carrier bearing re-placement). I had another shop rebuild the steering. I wish I had known about Adamson before I had the work done. The rebuild quality is only fair and will likely be revisiting the steering. We purchased it for the purpose of towing a travel trailer. The travel trailer was purchased a year later. In 22 months we've driven 11,500 miles.
