Ford Focus

Although this car had a major transmission recall and was considered a ‘lemon’ it has done okay for me. It is good on gas. The car has a lot of room and is spacious. I feel that the car was not put together well as a door handle fell off.

Maintenance seems to cost more than car

I got this car about 5 years ago, it's a 2012 hatchback focus. Lately, I had to replace catalytic converter, and had other things like corroded battery wires, low beam light issues, and a rattle sound unique for Ford. I don't think I can recommend this model to anyone else. Seems like to many things happen even with normal maintenance given.

We bought the vehicle used, 95k miles, and have Had a number of problems including transmission, ignition coil, engine mount, control arm and Sync stereo not working. Luckily we bought an extended warranty through Ford and it has paid for itself. I think we may sell it however since we are nearing the end of the warranty period.

Would have been good if not for the rust

My manual transition Focus has been a fine car for the money except after just 8 years the trunk lid and hood are rusting badly all around the hemmed edges. My Toyota of 13 years still has no rust. I wish American car makers could figure that out.

2012 Ford Focus

The only thing I don’t like about my Focus is the CVT transmission. My wife & I bought it from Enterprise. It was a rental they were selling. We bought it because our Buick Century had been totaled out. We purchased it with 41,000 miles. At that time. It had great acceleration to get from a stop into traffic. Now we have 168,000 miles on. I have to drive it with a lot of TLC. The transmission shutters at lower speeds. When it’s cold it’s like moving a turtle. It’s terrible. Looking to dump it in the next few months for a 2021 Toyota Highlander. A new $42,000.00 toy.

They don't make them any longer

This car has been recalled 4 times. I've had it 11years, because I have low milage. But next year, I'm going to replace it. It drives nicely and is comfortable. Replacing it with another nice small sedan isn't as easy as it sounds.

Fun Car

I like Fords. It is a fun car to drive, gets excellent gas mileage, not much back seat leg room. Leather seats seem a little firm for me. I do enjoy driving in the city and highway. I trust the car to be reliable as long as things are covered.

Focus

I love everything about this car except driving it in the snow....it is terrible with more than 4" of snow on the ground. I get stuck trying to get out of the driveway.

Love this car

We are very happy with our Ford Focus. I recently tookit on a college visit into the New England states and we comfortable fit 4 people and out luggage. We have been very pleased with this car in all facets.

Ford Focus review

I have had 4 focus vehicles and have been very pleased with them. My 2012 gets between 38-41 miles per gallon on the highway. I am disappointed that I have had to replace my radio on this car and my gas gauge went out and I didn't replace it because of the cost, over 600 dollars . Every thing else has went without any problems.

We purchased it from a car rental location that had it for sale. When purchased it had just 41,000 miles. Today, I am at 159,268. It has been a good car. When purchased I was getting around 33.5 miles per gallon. Today, it is around 29.4. Still good. I suppose if I drove the speed limit it might be higher. It has been a really good car for our family. We had some transmission issues in the past which have been taken car of. I don’t like the head rest. As it does not feel comfortable. We, my wife & I purchased it because it was affordable. I wish it had more leg room. I think it is a good vehicle. I won’t purchase another one. It’s to small for me. Another Ford. Absolutely! Like a Ford Explorer next time.

Love my car!

For a small car, the Focus has plenty of room in the interior. I have knees that don't bend properly sometimes and still have never had trouble getting in or out of my vehicle. It's economical to run...we've been getting 28mpg in city driving so we're happy. The bright blue is so pretty....love, love, love my little car!

I love this car!

I was in the market to find a vehicle with good gas mileage and an automatic. I put on 100 a day in traffic and really needed to get away from the stick shift. I spent a whole day at MacKenzie Ford test driving every car that got over 30 mpg and had a few other options I needed. I had never considered owning a focus but after test driving it I found that it handled much better the all the other car I drove. Not only did it have more options then I needed, it also had ambient lighting which was icing on the cake. I've had my Focus over 2 years and can't I again owning anything else. It's sporty and compact with awesome gas mileage and yet still a family car. I would buy another one in a heart beat. I even talked my parents into buying one.
