Ford ranger review

COOLING SYSTEM SUCKS!!!!!!!! Way too easy to overheat. Eventually installed an aftermarket water pump, radiator, fan, etc. finally stopped overheating after that. Other than that, I like the torque and how strong the transmission is. Suspension is pretty loose, but live able.

Easy to park truck

II like my Ford Ranger big enough to haul somethings but still be able to park small space .

Ford Ranger xlt 4x4

Decent truck, but seems to have similar issues as other Ford trucks regarding various issues. We have owned numerous Ford trucks from an 88 STX 4x4 , Ford Rangers, F150's, Escape, and F250 diesel . emergency brake cable: pedal engaging when barely touched but not working right, gear shifting in automatics going in between indicators and not engaging properly. No adjustments for brake / gas pedal.to move closer towards driver, Seats moving so close to steering wheel for smaller stature people it is unsafe.

Love it but

The only issue that I have with this vehicle is that it does not have air recirculation when my heater is on. I breathe the fumes of whatever nasty thing is in front of me. I will never buy another vehicle without recirculation but I do love this Ranger.

Keeps on truckin'

I love my Ranger XLT. Takes a beating and has had few problems beyond normal wear and tear. 112K miles and going strong. My friend's Ranger went 250. I'm not easy on my vehicles and my little truck is "built Ford tough".

Good little truck

I treat her like a baby and she treats me very well. She is almost 17 now, and still runs like day I drove her off the lot. I have had only one major repair in all the time that I've had her. If they still made Ford Rangers I would say go get one.

2001 Ford Ranger - 3.0 v6

All in all, I'm not that impressed with the 3.0 engine. It appears to have alot of potential if they would move the spark plug port on cylinders 1 & 4. I was hit by thew curse of the 3.0, cracked heads. The spark plug port is too close to the valve seat on those cylinders. If Ford would increase the spacing by 1/2" the problem with the heads would probably go away.

Good truck

My Ford Ranger had been a great truck. I had a controler fail several years ago that cost $400 to replace. The recent fuel pump problens are puzzling. I'm on my third fuel pump in the last two years.

Ignition ring was bad

Truck is running good after Mike and Steve replace my ignition ring and reprogrammed my key. Reliable automobile and smooth running machine and had no trouble in 18 year of having the vehicle. I recommend this vehicle

Bought this used with 105,000 miles on it.

On the whole, this truck has been excellent except for a few add-ons. The stereo is nice, but the wiring is a mess. There is a high-resistance short that makes me keep a charger on the system. The battery is dead in two days. I replaced the battery, but no change. After-market headlights have removed the daylight running lights. The automatic windows only go down on the driver's door. Don't work at going up on either door. I like it, though. It is a a 4W drive, but I haven't really tried that out.

I love my truck. I've driven 250, 000 miles and the motor is still strong. You can't ask for more than that.

All for the sentiment.

I have had this vehicle for about eight years. It runs very well for a vehicle that's 15 years old. The problems have been minimal. I attribute that to regular upkeep. It has long been my understanding that vehicles, in general, will run for a long time as long as you maintain necessary upkeep. Since becoming the owner of a 2001 Ford Ranger, I have tried to do that. In order to accomplish this, one needs a good and reliable staff of people who have the diagnostic ability and the necessary skill(s) to do the proper work. It has long been my belief that Chad Miller Auto Care is capable of this. The rates are reasonable and the warranty adequate at this facility. It is all that I have expected from a reputable business.

01 ranger v6

207k miles and still going strong what's not to like. Original engine and trans. Interior looks great. Exterior still shines. Proud of it.

Dependable

The Ford Ranger is a great little truck. It is disappointing that Ford decided to discontinue making them. Not a sound decision by the Ford Motor Company.

Good old Ford Ranger

I really like my Ford Ranger. The replacement of the fuel pump is only the second time that it required a repair. The other time was the failure of a control module that runs the windshield wipers, some alarms and probably some other things. It has been reliable and a pleasure to drive.

Wanted, a small truck with big values

When my station wagon died I was in the market for a small pick up truck. I looked around and saw the Ranger. I looked it over and seemed to have everything, and then some, I was looking for. The 4 liter engine has all the power I need and is very dependable. The Ranger is loaded with all the bells and whistles I needed. It also doubles as our run around vehicle as well. I handles like a dream and just doesn't ride like a truck. Even the wife says she is surprised at how nice it rides. The bed has all the room I need to the hauling I do. I guess if I sat down and planned out the small pick up I wanted it would be my Ranger. GREAT truck. P.S I was not a Ford person until I got Ranger.
