I love my windstar

I've had my windstar for around 6 years. It's been reliable with no major problems. One of the better Ford cars ever made. I bought it used and still drives like it's new. I love this car. It just keeps going.

Oldie but goodie.

I have gotten more than my money's worth out of my Ford Windstar. It is 18 years old and still runs great. The usual things have had to be replaced, but the engine and transmission are still going strong. Very roomy and convenient when needing to carry extra people or cargo. No longer taking long road trips due to age of vehicle but it is extremely comfortable and was great for long distance drives. Have had the vehicle since new in 2001 and taken many road trips with it.

BEWARE THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND REAR AXLE

I really like these vans, which I use for business and pleasure. I have several including a 2000, 2001 and a 2003. They've all had the rear axles repaired or replaced(per factory recall.) However, the torque converter in these vehicles can be problematic. After Ford replaced the Windstar with the Freestar in 2004 there was a recall on the Freestar torque converter, but they never did a recall on the SAME torque converter in the previous Windstar models. When the Windtar torque converter goes it is best to junk the van rather than fix it(big $$$.) Also, rocker panel and frame rust can be a problem. Message: Be careful when you are looking to buy a used Windstar.
