Mislead

The G80 is supposed to be a luxury vehicle according to Terry Lee's commercials and all employees at the dealership. However, a luxury vehicle SHOULD NOT vibrate and certainly should not be designed to vibrate as the engineer who checked out my car stated. I'm paying for a luxury car but not getting a luxury ride. Very disappointing!

Terrible service

While Genesis provides services through its dealers, it will never have a brand. Dealers only think of making money, do not fix warranty issues. The company should invest on customer service. The company should also take ownership of product defects. It should give the responsável to the dealers, which never solve the problem

Worst experience ever! I never had this many issues with my other luxury vehicles. Genesis can’t compare with BMW or Mercedes Benz! Now I know why you don’t see many genesis g80 on the road. I’m glad I got rid of it before it broke down again. Thank you

G80 2018

Motor se ha calentado en 4 ocasiones y remolcado en grúa , además de otros problemas mecánicos. Mi vehículo no me inspira confianza y mucho menos seguridad . Manejar este vehículo me estresa grandemente por el miedo de quedarme sin transportación. No recomiendo a nadie este vehículo.

AC & Service

The AC is terrible. It shuts down if car is driven for 2 consecutive hours! Just stops blowing cold air and becomes too loud to hear the radio. Dealer hasn't been able to fix it! I've had it in for service and repairs 4 times. So far it's still not operating properly .

Bad car

I am not going buy genesis. I hv been driving last 14 years this car with different model of genesis. After this one which I am driving now no more genesis. I was waiting for for New 2020 SUV but no more. Now I am going buy BMW X5. BMW Better car better service better then what I hv. I am just waiting when my lease going to be over and with genesis. Genesis quality going down before I had no issue.

Great car except for Air Conditioning

This is the fourth Genesis that I've owned. I love the car with the exception of the Air Conditioning. It works great around Atlanta, but it consistently stops working when the car is driven on a long trip. Genesis refuses to do anything about the problem because the can't replicate it when the car is in the shop. One dealership stated that they have seen several G80's with this problem, but Genesis will not admit that there is a problem since again, it cannot be replicated in their shop. One long term Genesis salesperson shared that he had the same problem with his G80 on a long distance trip, but Genesis will not correct the problem since it cannot be replicated.

Customer Service sells itself.

Your service departments are going to hurt you, no matter how well you make a car. And it’s a great car. I’d start to make that your emphasis on North America. My experience has not been equal to that when I had a BMW, and and Audi. My gut told me go for the value luxury and I’m paying for it in other ways not just financially.

Beautiful vehicle , BUT -

I leased my 2018 Genesis G80 Sport Mar. 2018 and 2 1/2 years later with 7800 miles on the odometer my battery went dead. Vehicle towed in for battery replacement and it was discovered that there was a bad valve tick coming from the engine. To make a long story short my vehicle was sitting in the shop for FOUR months from June to Oct 2020 before Genesis approved an engine replacement. The vehicle is OK now, just in time to return it off lease in Feb. 2021. Still debating if I will stay with this brand. One good thing Genesis reimbursed me for 4 payments I made while vehicle was in the shop.

Quality issues

My feedback on 5 years of low-mileage ownership (always garaged): Camera system failed and took one whole month to sort out and to repair. Head unit failed and replaced. Three AGM batteries dead in five years. Transmission starting to shift somewhat less smooth after only 10k miles. Electronic modules glitching (dash light staying on, intermittent wipers operating weird occasionally). Poor gas mileage of V8 version (G80 5.0 htrac Ultimate), compared to competitors. Poor design to get access to engine air filters. Poor quality/use of plastic rivets used under hood. Poor quality plastic engine beauty cover, plastic broke. Apple CarPlay intermittently crashes. Will not recommend. Will not buy again.

2018 G80 AWD Review

Car is great overall and has drawn raves from friends and family. Does have a few quirks that are somewhat different and take some getting used to. Survey was annoying long and some questions did not make much sense, i.e., question about second car would not let me select the actual year for my Chevrolet truck. Felt that the questions about "other cards" really were nonsensical.

2018 Genesis G80 5.0 AWD HTRAC 420 HP

I bought this vehicle brand new with zero miles on the car and at the beginning was enamored by all aspects of the vehicle. At 1000 miles of regular driving of the automobile, the check engine light came on and the engine hiccupped at 400-500 rpm. It has been at the dealer service department ever since and the dealer still has not gotten to the root of the engine issue with the vehicle. It has been almost 2 weeks and they still have not fixed the problem. In addition, the brakes squeeled to a complete stop a few times during the first 2-3 weeks of owning the car and it was with regular city driving. It is unclear how this situation is going to turn out, but not very happy about the situation.

G80 turbo

Over all the car was well built, quite, handled great and had plenty of get up and go. The negatives with car are steep depreciation similar to the depreciation of Cadillacs and the biggest negative was the $2500 windshield ( had large rock chip directly in drivers videos it had to be replaced). If windshield would have been around $4-500 I would probably still own car and give it a 5 star rating.

Good looking vehicle, great value. However there are flaws. Design and/or build quality of the suspension systems, selection of tires are questionable. Drive shaft fluttering/wobbling issue persists. Hyundai dealers should not handle Genesis vehicle.

Love my V8

After visiting 10 dealerships I decided on a Genesis G80. I kbew I wanted a 5 liter and white in color. One dealer in Riverside Ca. Had me come back 3 times promising a test drive in a 5 liter but never had on at the appointment time but always pushed the smaller engine. I went to Temecula California and stood in the parking lot for 30 minutes before someone approached me. He asked me if I was aware that the car I was looking for was 60K . I left then and wondered if I would ever find my car. So......I went online and called Palm Springs Genesis. The salesmen said he had the car I was looking for and I made an appointment to see it the next day. I test drove, received an appraisal and wrote a check in full for my new Genesis. I I’ve my car!

Don’t buy one

The car will not fit in my garage because it is too long. I have already had three items that needed to be replaced or repaired, and my car is only three years old. Siri is of no help when I need it—the voice recognition is subpar. All parts are proprietary, so Hyundai can charge whatever they wish for needed repairs—a HUGE drawback.

G80 Ultimate V8

I would love to rate this vehicle 5 star but I can't with the issues I have with the Panoramic Roof noises. The Genesis Warranty fix was unacceptable for not compensating me for the devaluation of the vehicle if I authorized this repair that may or may not fix the issue.
