Beautiful Luxury, Minor Improvements Needed
The genesis G80 is an absolutely beautiful vehicle. I've had it for about four months and there's a very short list of things that I would like to see improved vs. the numerous things that are great about the car. I'll start with the short list – there are times when I try to accelerate quickly, and the car fails to respond so I end up with the gas pedal hitting the floor without the car moving any faster. It’s a strange delayed reaction that I’ve never experienced in my previous cars (drove Honda & Acura all my life). Another occasional issue is that the door lock doesn't respond sometimes. Even though the key is very close to the vehicle and not blocked by anything, sometimes I have to open and close the door again to get it to respond. This shouldn’t happen in a brand new vehicle. Last wish for improvement - Genesis would not be spelled out across the entire back of the trunk. I think a better, more attractive way to display the brand should be explored. With those things out of the way, I think that the sport mode functions beautifully, the parking cameras are wonderful, the interior is gorgeous - especially the dashboard, and the sunroof lets in the right amount of air while preventing the excess wind noise. There are several other luxury features that I haven't tried yet or don't use often, but it's nice to know that they are there on the off chance that I need them. I'm definitely happy with this vehicle.
