Don’t buy a car from a dealer in another city!

I have had my G80 around 2 months now. I still don’t know how the Apple play, Navigation, cruise control, and steering column buttons work. The dealership is a 2 hour drive from my house. I have made numerous phone calls to my sales guy and their tech guy. I have also called their technical support phone line for help. I need someone to ride in my car and show me how it works. When they brought it to my house, the tech guy did a quick run through of how the car works….My screen changes when I enter my car and I have to press my home button and then go to Sirius for music…I want one standard screen when I turn my car on….I am frustrated and miss my 10 year old Mercedes!

It’s not the Genesis you thought you were buying.

The electronics are confusing, the owners manual has many photos that are too small and unreadable, the text uses many new terms that are undefined making the text very difficult to understand. It as though the manual was written by someone not using English as a first language. When stopped the engine goes into a pause that I detest. Genesis mad a big mistake in making the G80 with a smaller turbo enhanced engine requiring premium fuel rather than regular fuel. This is my seventh or eight year with a Genesis and I’ll certainly be shopping around when I need a replacement.

Smooth riding car

Like the car; previously had a 2022 of the same model. However, do have some issues with the connected services not working and some of the "upgraded" features should have been left alone. Liked how they worked in the 2022 model better.

I had my car almost 2 months. The screen went dark twice. Once while I was pulling out of a parking space at night. The second time at a light. Now it is being serviced. Screen was defective.

Not quite perfect

The Climate Panel looks aesthetically pleasing, but it is hardly practical. For example, the red indicator lights on the heated seats and steering wheel are too small and difficult to see. Similarly, the map's graphics are pale, and the street and road names are hard to read, especially while driving.

Great car nad great value

Almost perfect car. Way better than most luxury competitors, the best for the price. It has so many great features that makes you want even more: such as self driving or perhaps a mild hybrid engine. Performance are excellent, brakes and driving dynamics are great

Great but needs more efficient engine

After a month behind the wheel of the Genesis G80 2.5T Sport Prestige, it’s clear this sedan is redefining the concept of value in the luxury segment. The moment you settle into the cabin, the “bang for your buck” argument becomes undeniable. The optional red interior is absolutely stunning—the soft, plush leather and meticulous British-inspired design details create an atmosphere that rivals far more expensive European counterparts. The cabin is a sanctuary of quiet, with an engaging suite of driving assist technologies that inspire confidence rather than feeling like intrusive gimmicks. Whether cruising in Eco or sharpening the throttle response in Sport mode, the driving experience remains engaging and composed, proving that this sedan prioritizes both comfort and driver engagement in equal measure. However, no car is perfect, and the G80’s primary shortfalls revolve around its powertrain strategy. The 2.5T engine, while smooth, suffers from lackluster fuel efficiency that becomes noticeable during city driving, especially given that this is the base engine offering. More frustrating is the absence of a hybrid or fully electric variant in the mid-size sedan lineup—a glaring omission in a segment where competitors are increasingly offering electrified options. For a brand that has executed so brilliantly on luxury, design, and value, the lack of an efficient powertrain choice feels like the final piece of the puzzle still waiting to be placed.

Great car made more complex

The car is wonderful, it drives well and is comfortable. But they made it much more complex to drive and tried to make it fancy. I prefer to be in control and drive the car, rather than have the car drive me. You have to take your eyes off the road more often, changing radio stations or other features.
