Not happy

Woodhouse dealership is horrible. Controls on car are hard to understand. Horrible customer service. I will never buy a Genesis again. I will never buy anything from Woodhouse again. Carpet in car is horrible. Did I say the controls are hard to use!!!!!!!!

Disappointed

Seat uncomfortable. Heat stopped working on passenger side. Breaks squeal. Terrible customer service. I would think a $70k car would be more reliable and more comfortable. Genesis has some quirks to work out before I consider purchasing again. Miss my Lexus

Mine and Yours

First Brand new Vehicle, and an I hope it's my retirement Vehicle. I can't wait to see what happens next with this vehicle. I love the grill and all the gadgets. It definitely takes some getting use to. I also love your sedans, and I can't wait to see what's next for them.

GV80

I have a series of issues which I have documented with my dealership. These include primarily the heating and cooling system and the warning system. Heat randomly goes on without being activated. Cooling randomly goes on without being activated. Warning lights appear for no reason. I have many other issues as well.

Poor Quality; Poor Service

The idea of the GV80 is great and I was clearly sold on it but it is has been a headache since day 1. I’m one year in and the dealer has attempted different needed repairs for more than 3 months, unsuccessfully. There have been a couple major issues with one of them taking 7 trips so far to try to repair and several smaller issues I just don’t have the time to deal with yet. Overall my experience with Hyundai/Genesis has been utterly disappointing and I am actively making sure people in my circles avoid these brands as they look to purchase new vehicles.

Has some luxury features that makes the car attractive, however after driving it for a couple days you start seeing what fool you can be with just luxury, buying a luxury car should have a good motor as well, the drive and performance are more than 70% of the value of the car, If my car wouldn’t have make any issues I would stay quiet, however i am experiencing lot of issues, so…

Beautiful car but drivetrain issue

I was so excited for this car as it has more features than other luxury SUVs at a much lower price point. This was great until I noticed there was a drivetrain problem; only at 10-15 mph and only when the front wheels had to travel very different distances (u-turns, consecutive turns, etc) but in these situations the front end vibrated. The most disappointing thing is the technician who rode in the car with me and drove the car said it was not normal and should not happen, but they drove another car of the exact same model and just because that car did it too they claimed it was a normal characteristic of the car. No car should vibrate when going around a turn at slow speed. Other than this, the inside of the car is beautiful and loaded with technology.

Highly disappointed

This is my 3rd genesis and I was soooo looking forward to loving my 2022 GV80 but now I hate it. My breaks squeal when I back out and when I come to stops. The dealer of course doesn't hear it. I'll be bringing it back for the 3rd time. I'm at the point where I don't want it anymore. I paid way to much for a vehicle that I have to hear this sound EVERY DAY.

Horrible service. Wonderful vehicle

GV80, not yet the luxury vehicle they claim it to be

The car is beautiful, inside and out. I get complimented on it all the time, and people ask how I like it. I was very complimentary the first five or so months. However, once the engine issues appeared, my view overall soured on the GV80. The intermittent stalling, especially when driving in traffic is dangerous, and appears to be an issue with others' GV80s as well. The dealership says they can't fix it without an error code, but the issue doesn't present an error code. The solution they said was the leave it when it stalls and call a tow truck. That's all well and good if it stalls somewhere easy. The last two times have been in traffic, and nearly caused accidents. Absolutely unacceptable, especially for a so-called luxury vehicle. General service is also an issue, as getting a service appointment in my market is a multi-week event. The promises made when I purchased about concierge service, etc were all lip service. There are no available cars, and the service techs are not customer-service focused.

Beauty Should Be More Than Skin Deep

Great looking vehicle with outstanding fit and finish but if you can't go anywhere in it who cares what it looks like. We have a top of the line GV80 that was inoperable for 3 months out of the first year... Hoping year 2 is a better experience and Genesis gives these issues the attention they need (vehicle). Concerning the dealers network this is not Lexus. Contradictory information, given an "Uber" or "Lyft" ride home, non-similar loaner (sedan v. SUV) 'when' given one. We want to see Genesis succeed in this market but it is not clear yet they are serious on product or customer service yet. Some very serious wrinkles we thought would have ironed out by now from when we first took a chance to support the company and the product in (2021 - ordered vehicle, 2022 - received vehicle).

Would not purchase again because of dealership service experience

Worse experience with a dealership service center. Manager was very unprofessional, scratched my vehicle and refused to fix. Had my car for two weeks for a regular oil change and then received a ticket while driving it back to me by a very young person

Car not reliable

Car had multiple navigation issues, which after a dealership had the car for 5 months , and could not repair, Genesis did buy back the car. My main frustration was we were never offered a courtesy car during that time, which I continued to car insurance on a car i never had access to drive for 5 months, and had to declare on taxes for this year.

Very poor performance . In my rating of the company on line survey they changed my rating factors to reflect a higher score than I gave them. Company very unresponsive to the problems we encountered wity the car.

Not reliable we had multiple issues with our GV 80 which after 5 months of being at a dealership to repair, they could not fix the problem. During this time we were not furnished a car to drive. After contacting the Company we had very poor response time back regarding our issues. Seems like the only time they csred about us, was at the time of the sale. We would not recommend this vehicle to anyone to buy.

Highly dissatisfied with vehicle

I am so unhappy with my genesis This was my dream vehicle but the fact that I have a 2022 vehicle that has squeaky brakes really upsets me. The dealership seems to not care. I'm at the point that I no longer want it and it really socks. I can't even give a good review because I have a faulty vehicle.

Make sure you research the dealership first

SUV is good but the dealership made it a horrible experience!!!!!!!!! I will never ever buy a car from this dealership. If you are reading this survey please stay away. I brought this SUV on Feb 28th 2022 and as of today 15 April 2022 I have not received my cancelation check for the service contracts that I purchased.

Beautiful car once issues are resolved

This is a beautiful car and nicely priced for a luxury suv, but two warranty issues in the first year has resulted in many lost hours taking it to the dealership and having to leave it for extended periods. The ride is very smooth and quiet but transmission is not as smooth as Audi, BMW or other luxury brands. The technology package and interior styling is excellent. The fuel economy isn’t great but average for this size vehicle.

GV80 has promise, but needs work

Build quality and fit are great, but due to excessive body roll, lower than expected fuel mileage, occasional transmission overrevs, and general ride comfort issues, the GV80 is a bit underwhelming. If Genesis would fix these issues, the car would be awesome!
