Prelude to Greatness

What can I say.. I'm biased. I consider this the perfect mix of sporty and practical. I am on my second Prelude. The first one went to 278,000. Probably would have been over 300,000 had I not parked it outside all the time and also did a better job on preventative maintenance. In no way would I say I babied my first one. I raced it, pushed it. Top Speed was 137. Holds Cruise control at 104 very effortlessly. I call it City Quick. Ferrari's, Porsche's and other power cars are way quicker, but most of that speed is wasted living in a city nowadays. More like torture. The Prelude runs a 2.2 Liter Vtec. It features Tiptronic Shift. One of the first cars to feature this. Tiptronic allows you to accelerate and decellerate the car similar to a manual but without a clutch. The magic number on the Prelude is 5300 RPM. At that point, you get a slight turbo like burst. ON a highway, you accelerate from 70-95 in a matter of about 5 seconds on the highway. The car handles like a dream and the prelude comes with a front drive that shifts power from one side to the other on the front wheels transferring power to the inside wheels on a turn and also helping with Skidding/slipping tread. The car has a great practical side and is perfect for 1-2 adults. It averages 25 mph city and 30 mph highway when you're not too tempted by the highway. Check out Edmunds.com review of the Prelude. They plainly say they didn't understand why Honda couldn't sell more of these. For you Sports coupe people, the specs and power of the Prelude are identical with todays Subaru BRZ and unlike BRZ wintertime rear wheel drive nightmare, the Prelude's front wheel drive allowed me survive 15 winters and counting. Thank you Honda for the perfect car.
