Well Rounded. Easy to Park. Tons of Space.

I got my Elantra GT after a brief stint with its sister car the Kia Forte. Just didn't work out and the dealer was able to get me into the Elantra. It has been a great car for the last 2 years with no sign of *any* trouble. Gas mileage rivals that of a motorcycle, power is OK, but could use a little more. But the real amazement is the the amount of storage you can get in this compact car! I have a little acoustic band and am able to get all the gear --ALL the gear-- into the hatchback and back seat. It always amazes me! In a good way! Fit and finish is good too. I'm a happy customer!

Too much road noise

It is hard to hear the radio and other passengers because of the road noise. Otherwise, i like all the fearures.

My Elantra GT, 2013

I love my car, however it hesitates and almost stops when I make a fast turn. This is very scary, I was told to take it off eco and I did but it still does it and I'm afraid sometime I may be hit by an oncoming car. This is my only complaint. I would like someone to look into this problem which could be deadly. The service technician said he has had this complaint before several times. Thank you

My 2013 Elantra GT

A fun car to drive. Peppy and very good mileage! The easiest car to care for I ever had. The factory red paint is super good! Tires wore out a little sooner than expected. Rear visibility is hampered, but I knew it would be going in.

Sporty feel, economic to drive

The GT had the right amount of features that I was looking for at the right price point. Interior is great and I love the sunroof option. The two things that I don't like are the factory tires that were provided. I had to purchase snow tires for MN because the factory tires were awful in the snow. Once I put snow tires on the car performed as it should. The second thing is the traction control monitoring is not the best. There are times that the traction control tries to compensate that causes you wonder if the people from Hyundai have ever driven on snow or ice. I disengage this feature whenever it snows.

Great Car For The Majority

The Hyundai Elantra GT is a good car for every day use. It is a great car for practically everyone. There is room for five people. It is fuel efficient in it's class. General info about me, the reviewer: I used to drive a two door hatchback with a six cylinder engine. It was a manual transmission. My current Hyundai has a manual transmission. It is important for anyone who is switching to a new car to understand that you will need to "get used to" the way a new car drives. This is very true when there is a manual transmission involved. First gear is hard to find and connect with when you are starting to drive this car. It gets better with time. One of the best features is the hatchback. I will never go back to a trunk again. This is also the first four door I have owned in a very long time. It is always a step up to have four doors. The rear seats fold forward to give a completely flat surface when you need to move something larger. This is my first car with a reverse gear activated camera. What a Great feature! Drive Mode: At first, you don't notice a change when switching the Drive Mode from Normal to Comfort or Sport. After you get used to the car you notice. When I recently drove an automatic transmission Elantra (2017) I detected the difference right away. I'm not sure if this little feature is standard but there's is a climate control in the dash board compartment or "glove box". One of the big features on this particular model is the full length sun roof. It goes beyond a moon roof in size. I like the option. When I first tested and bought this car I knew I would be giving up the acceleration I had with a six cylinder. I have gotten used to it. If you play an iPod in the early 2013 models you must get a special wire to attach to the stereo. Newer models have improved this issue. The 17" wheels look great and ride fine but AVOID POTHOLES! It is too easy to damage sidewalls of tires with the wheels selected for this model. I like the car and will keep it even though this issue exists with the wheels. Paying attention to the road should be a #1 priority when driving anyway. I hope this review helps.

2013 Elantra Gt

I love my little car. It's comfortable and easy to zip around town in. I also drive 20 minutes one way to work on the highway and it handles nicely. My only wish would be better gas mileage, but it does have adequate power to get me out of tight situations.

Pros and Cons

My vehicle has served me well since I purchased it 12/2013. I am glad I bought it. There does seem to be a problem with the finish which I just noticed as I was waxing the car. There are quite a few whitish pitted spots. I will deal with the dealer when I return from vacation.

Nice little run about with crossover space inside

I drove my 2013 Elantra GT cross country with a big box on the roof. No issues. The car (at least the 2013 model) is not as peppy as Mazda 3/Focus rentals that I have driven. It does handle more like an European car. The MPG is off anywhere btw 10-20% from the advertised numbers (even with the adjusted lower numbers). The cabin space is big and the utility of the hatchback is great! I can fit all my tennis class equipment in the back with the back seat down. The front and center console is nice and clear with lots of space to put your iPhone's, glasses, etc. The OEM tires are not so great and get loud on below average roads. Overall, given the features, the price, the warranty, and the so-far-so-good driving experience, I would buy another again.

2013 Hyundai Elantra GT

I bought a Elantra GT new, with the moon roof and leather interior, in a 6-speed manual transmission. I love it. The acceleration isn't fast, but fast enough, and the vehicle otherwise is really responsive and fun to drive. I work in San Francisco and live in the north bay, and I open up the moon roof every time I cross the Golden Gate Bridge!

Sport Car feel

I am very happy with my Elantra GT. It looks like a small size car but it is very comfortable inside and roomier than other makes in this category. I used a rental on my last trip that was in the medium size category and my GT is more comfortable in space and drive that the rental was. It has things that attracted me to this model like real leather seats (not plastic) and the panoramic sunroof together with the sporty look and feel of this car.

Good all-around vehicle.

Good all-around vehicle. This is our only car so it is used for trips, shopping, cargo hauling. Complaints: rear seats don't fold down flat, body gets dings easily, gas mileage could be better. Favorable: quiet and comfortable ride, good dashboard features and layout, great warranty, great service at dealership. Overall, satisfied with vehicle; purchased in April, 2013, 42, 800 miles.
