Very Bad Engine, Transmission and Gas Mileage!

Engine Misfire, Knocking Sound, Very poor Gas Mileage, Transmission Shifting Issues, Company should do better Engines that ain't GDI Direct Inject, Better Transmission, better gas mileage and better Upgraded Parts that ain't cheap like the ones on these Vehicles. Very Unsatisfied with this car.

Buyer Beware!!!!

IF YOU LIKE HYUNDAI'S NEVER BUY ONE WITH THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION!!!!!!!! EVERY OTHER HYUNDAI I OWNED WERE FINE. I have owned several Hyundai's all were fine. I refered several people to my sales manager and Raul Gomilla (I have gotten 26 $100.00 referral checks for my referral's and all my friends were happy. I have bought Hyundai's from him in West Palm Beach Florida, North Carolina and Brandon Florida. He has earned my trust and I will make all my future purchases from him no mater where in the country he is. For some reason when he leaves any dealership they all go down hill! I bought TWO 2018 Hyundai's this year, both with the dual clutch transmission both suck Hyundai service even told me (after I brought both in for transmission problems) that all the HYUNDAI'S with the dual clutch transmissions are known to have transmission problems that cannot be repaired.

Worst car I have ever owned.

Month 1 car started having stalling issues and starting issues. Seals around winds failed and rust has started in the buttom of car. Dealer car car for 23 days still don’t fixed. Going back to dealer tomorrow. For them to keep it another few weeks. SMH

Elantra

I bought this car to upgraded space from a 2 door civic. I was expecting my first child. I wanted to go with a crosstrek but they convinced me that this will be better on gas. No not really the truth I find. Also there is no space to put anything. When I have the carseat in the car the front seat is very hard to sit in. Over all not happy.

Poor Design

Poor design grill has openings big enough for rocks to get to radiator. Backup camera gets blurry from rain. Don't drive with windows open wind noise is horrible. 3rd and last Hyundai I'll ever buy. Warranty doesn't help you is just a joke.

62k Odometer: Won’t See 100k

Purchased new in August 2018. What happened to that car? Consistent declines in all arenas when it comes to this car. The engine noise gets worse every day despite not missing any services or maintenance at the dealership. Transmission is very rough, 3rd gear is almost skipped, giving you unnecessary focus to manage during speed changes and stop and stops. Initial symptoms suggested suspension was failing however dealership does not locate it. Replaced steering shaft assembly but still constant adjustment to keep car straight and maintain forward in lane.

NO C/D PLAYER IS A HUGE NEGATIVE

NO C/D PLAYER. THERE IS NO DRIVER'S SIDE LOWER HEATING/COOLING VENT THAT PROVIDES ANY WARMTH/COOL. LEFT FOOT FREEZES IN THE WINTER. TRUNK DOOR IS SO HIGH ONCE IT IS OPENED (MANUALLY) IT IS DIFFICULT TO MANUEVER.

Beginning to Question Quality

2018 Elantra GT Sport with 8000 miles since new and car is developing various issues. Been to dealer numerous times and tonight heater/air conditioner fan began making rumbling noise. Did not have these issues with older Elantra GT. More issues at such low miles than I have had with any other make of new car. If issues continue would not recommend this car.

Attractive But lacks GT Performance Expected from A Sports Car. Interior exceedingly nice and very comfortable. Car rides smoothly and is very responsive to sharp turns. Handles like a sports car should but is missing engine performance.

Easily damaged!

I have had this vehicle for less than a year. It has cost me more than $5000 in repairs due to hitting small rodents in the road. (I drive through a forest daily. It is a fact of life that you will hit a critter or two). A small raccon once did nealy $3000 dollars damage to the underside of the car. A dead squirrel (roadkill) did almost as much. There needs to be better protection for this or the car needs to be higher off the ground.

Hyundai Elantra GT sport

Overall I really like this car. It's just that the seats are so bad that my back is having major problems. Also there's fuel in my oil. The acceleration is intermittent I'm having trouble with my turbo I guess. There's also shuttering when I let up the gas from a stop. The whole car starts to shake. It's really annoying and dangerous. When I'm at line to pick up my daughter at school we have to move forward slowly and people look at me very strangely when the whole car starts to shake.

Great exterior design, poor drive train that ruins the driving experience

Interesting that the test drive was done in sport mode and not in regular as this vehicle definitely is performance based and not a very good everyday driver for Commuting or going for a leisurely drive. My overall total experience has been poor from the dealership to the lack of resolution for poor quality paint to a the service tech telling me that a significant number of people have complained about the DCT transmission. My next vehicle will definitely have this type of tranny omitted.

this vehicle is not perfect but is fun to drive is have issues in engine and automatic transmission and fuel economy is not the one expected Hyundai have to make in their vehicles better engines and automatic trasmissions

2018 Elantra GT

The Elantra GT has adequate power and features, but what I don’t like is it doesn’t come with LED headlights as standard, and it does not have Homelink garage door opener. It has LED dayrunning lights but projector halogen headlights which are inferior to LEDs. The steering wheel is too skinny (made for a women) for my taste.

Paint too thint as well as body panels

I have taken my 2018 Elantra gt sport two 2 dealerships, the first one told me that yeah it seems that is too soon for the front bumper to show this many chips and that it maybe some issues with the paint but unfortunately I did not buy the car there so I need it to go with the dealer that I bought the car from, (and I would like to make a pause here, why do I need to go to my original dealership, is not all Hyundai a Hyundai no matter where was it bought Hyundai should honor the warranty no matter where the car was purchased, I don't see them sending me away anytime that I need oil change, they should tell me sorry we can do it here because you did not buy it here, any ways) The original dealership told me sorry it's a black car you should expect to see this besides all cars are going to be like this i should not pretend not to have this kind of issues, they almost said is my own dam fault go cry some where else. So yeah I am not very happy like I said to the service manager from this place Dan this is not my first new car and this have never happened, not with Nissan Subarus VW none of them. Any ways let's say that I am not 100 per cent happy with this purchase quality or dealers.

Love the Color

Nice car, kind a smaller sometimes the technology doesn't work properly the auto android disconnect once a while and a critical moment, like when you are in GPS time hate that, get lost a phone call or disconnect from GPS, and the driver's blind spot mirrors doesn't work 100% properly, onces a while doesn't work. But I'm old fashion still use my head moving to see those blind areas to avoid any accident.

It's okay.

I was rather pressured into trading in my 2014 Turbo Veloster for something new. I read that 2019 Velosters wouldn't be available until 2019. So,i settled for the Elantra. I feel like an old man driving a station wagon. I really miss my V car. I should have bought it.

I wish it was better

To me the car looks great and I love the engine tone. It is responsive, and is fun to drive, to a point, but now that I have spent over a year with the car I can point some of the flaws. Again sheet metal is not the best, every time I clean it of wax it I can feel the panels flexing and that's concerning, the wind shield quality is not up to vw's and road noice is bad. And now that the sport trim was replaced with the n trim and some of the suspension issues where addressed as well as the engine and transmission mounds improved, I can help but feel cheated some how. But at least I still love the way it looks.

An OK hatch

I owned the Hyundai Elantra GT 2.0 for about 1 year. Looks, power and responsiveness are are ok but bought this car planing to make it look sporty and boost the power in it but no after market parts are available.

Good car

I have my 2018 Elantra GT for about 1 year now and I am quite happy with it. I liked my old Elantra much better and am sorry that I didn't keep it. The 2018 Elantra is not as comfortable, has less trunk space and is noisier than the 2008 Elantra.
