Disappointing

I love my car but I have had to many issues with it. I sure am glad that Hyundai has a great warranty, otherwise this car would have cost me a small fortune for repairs.

The engine seems strong but I had to replace the transmission 2x in 2 years and the front end seems likenits ready to fall apart. I love the storage in the back and the stereo system.is decent along with the instrument panel lights and seat warmers. The seat is comfortable to drive but the car is a terd.

Nice car but has mechanical issues. The front end and shocks need to be improved but the braking system is great. The seats are comfortable and i love driving the car and i can fit my surfboards and camping stuff inside. The vent knobs got sibhot they broke off which sucks for me.

INSIST ON A CARFAX!!

HYUNDAI IS A GOOD CAR BUT WHEN YOU BUY IT USED AND FROM mCGRATH THEN YOU SCREWED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND IT IS EXPENSIVE TO FIX. ITS SPACIOUS THO AND FOR A TALL PERSON LIKE ME (6'0) I HAVE A ENOUGH LEG SPACE. WHEN IT GETS TO 124,000 MILES IT BEGINS TO DRAG A LITTLE.

Elantra 2011 Touring wagon

I had unexpected serious problems with this vehicle. 2 transmission jobs needed under 100,000 miles and power steering column needed replacement. Interior of car scratches easily. Gets less then 29 mpg averages 25mpg. Nice looking wagon and fun to drive. Just wish Hyundai could improve it mechanically and make a wagon vehicle.

Economy car

Decent economy car with good inside space that can seat 5. Had to replace transmission at 25k and the A/C sensor Unit ($400) at 65k. Trans is starting to act up at 75k. Car drives ok and has decent pick up.

My Elantra Touring is great for what it is. I find I like a bit larger vehicle and wish I'd gone with the regular Elantra.

My friends all think my vehicle is adorable and sporty. I think it doesn't have a sweet ride - kinda' bumpy at best. I wanted it and I certainly can't complain about the ability to do what it's supposed to do. I will be back when I want a new vehicle.

Cute but uncomfortable

I really like the way the car looks and drives. The seats are, however, extremely uncomfortable and the ride is anything but smooth- every bump in the road is a jolt up my back. It was what I could afford and so I am grateful to have the car.

Nice, dependable car, but has some buzzes and squeaks

I like the Elantra sufficiently that I'm now on my second one. It's a dependable and affordable car. One area where it falls short is in the build quality of stuff like the head-liner (which constantly develops annoying little buzzing sounds) and heating vents, whose levers break off. Overall, it's a great value, but if stuff like repetitive noises bothers you (as they do for me), you might want another make.

Hyundai Elantra Touring

I like the mid-size interior room in it that serves my family size. I don't like that it turned out to be not an all wheel drive as I wanted, so its performance on the snow is low. Going uphill, even just in the low hill to the parking lot of where I live, is bad. It feels flimsy and light against the wind.

Good little wagon

The 2011 Touring rides well, can carry a goodly load of stuff, looks good, and carries a warranty that compensates for most of its few flaws. It gets respectable Hwy. mileage -- around 33 mpg -- but in town considerably less, unfortunately. My complaints: A. its right rocker panel's rusting just under the door and Hyundai doesn't cover this fault now that the car's over three years old B. overpriced replacement parts, for example, a little chromed strip on the lower front fender lists for over $67, a partial replacement of left driver's seat (leather) lists for over $500, with no option to change just the leather at a lower price. Another complaint: the body shop my dealer uses charges exorbitantly, twice what a reputable shop nearer to me estimates for the same job. C. Rear visibility on this car, like so many others with the upswept rear side windows, isn't good. As with Honda, VW, Toyota, novelty of style overpowers safety in this model. The Touring's not made any more, but with some improvements in mileage, rear visibility, and the folding of its rear seats to a completely flat position it ought to be quite marketable to older people like me and to starting families.

Last of the affordable station wagons.

Designed for the German market, this is a true station wagon. The series runs from 2009 to 2012, replaced in 2013 with an unrelated hatchback. This Elantra Touring has been trouble free, and only lacked a fifth gear or overdrive to make it great. It gets 32-33 mpg highway, which isn't too bad. The car sits higher than a sedan, but lower than a CUV, which makes it just right for me. There have been concerns about the transmission on these cars, but I have changed the fluid every year (2 quarts), and had no issues.

2011 Hyundai Elantra Touring is a great SW

I've owned it now for five years. I'm happy with the great mileage on the road, its handling of corners and fast emergency stops. It holds much in the back, from moving home furnishings to my sleeping bag at a national campground (my "motorhome"). My one downside is lack of good visibility on the back right side of the car to safely parallel park. I hope Hyundai will start selling station wagons again in the US by the time I will need to replace this car (hopefully many years from now). The hatchback is too small and the SUV is too big.

Fun to drive, Utility combined with a very pleasant driving experience

I have 75k on this car, bought new in 2011, very reliable and surprisingly fun to drive. I am over six feet and history in sports cars, racing Alfa Romeo for many years. This car would probably surprise on the track, though I have not tried it. Does everything well, clutch pedal the only complaint - "feels like it is attached to nothing at all!". Reasonable fuel economy, lots of room for me and my stuff - a garage/estate sale junkie. I intend to keep the car past 100K.

Quirky but dependable

I have a 2011 Hyundai Touring Wagon and am reasonably happy with it. Love the room in back and sunroof, seat warmers. It's not a smooth ride and doesn't have the tightest turn radius but this little car does great on road trips. It's a good value.

Good little commuter but needs 5 spd tranny

I really like this car except that it only has a 4 speed transmission. It gets a good 32-33mpg on the road running back and forth from Baxter to Cookeville, but if I drive it on interstate highways it drops to 28-29 mpg. If only they made a 5 spd automatic it would be a great car.
