If only mine didn't steer so poorly.

I finally became willing to accept my Elantra's very loose steering as just an annoyance. However, since the steering makes the vehicle entirely unsafe to drive in the winter, it cannot be tolerated.

Car brand is good, my personal car is crap

I bought this car brand new off the lot and I have had nothing but problems. I would not buy another Hyundai. But I will say if you need a cheap commute car this will work. I just keep having problems with the traction light coming on then all 4 tired locking up. I have taken it to many dealerships and no one can figure out the problem. I was so excited about the car when I bought it but it has given me nothing but heartache since I got it.

Never again!!!!

I had a bad experience with this car! Terrible, horrible disappointing 5 recalls, disappointing engine failure, Wouldn't ever buy one again! I trusted Hyundai to get a car that wouldn't give me a major problem while new within at least the first years 5 years! Especially when I explain this to them very disappointed with Hyundai

Not worth another second of my time. Seriously you won’t let me continue because I haven’t said enough. I was not going to advertise this car by driving it so I got rid of it and now have a beautiful Jeep

Hyundai factory MPG Fraud

Where is the "40 MPG highway" as promised on the sticker? Where is my "debit card bribe" settlement promised by Hyundai as a result of a court decision? Hyundai is well schooled in the art of misrepresentation. Hyundai misrepresented horsepower in my '91 Santa Fe, and now misrepresenting MPG in my Elantra.

My 2013 Huyndia Elantra has had problems from day one. To this day it still hasn't been fixed. They just keep saying there is nothing wrong with my car. It's a death trap. Not sure at this time if I would ever buy another Huyndia product again.

Hyundai Corporate very uncaring reps

Although I like the car Overall and dealer - (have a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GLS) - I am NOT happy with the fact that the Splash shield/Under Panel in front end keeps coming down on this model!! I feel that Hyundai knows this is a "known defect" with this model and still have done nothing to compensate for it. I have had ongoing issues with this vehicle with the above - every time I go over a speed bump, a higher curb, or park where there's a concrete parking stump it 'scrapes' , no matter how slow i go or how careful I am - and every 4-6 months I need to either repair or replace this panel under the front end. It has gotten quite pricey and I am not happy about it! This review was about the last visit to dealer Crown - which that issue was under warranty and dealer honored - so I was pleased with that - thus the 5 star review. If I had to give Hyundai Motor Corp a review it would be 1 star! I have reached out to Hyundai corporate for some compensation due to all the money I have spent for this ongoing issue, and they flat out refused! Their customer service rep (Randy Vasquez) is the WORST!! No empathy at all! He sounds like a robot reading a script! Kept saying "sorry, nothing we can do for you!" even after I'd explained this is an ongoing issue with this vehicle and I've spent (and probably will continue to spend if I kept this car!) a lot of money!!! I asked to speak with his supervisor and he said he would "ask' the supervisor. Then called me back pretending he was the supervisor saying the same crap ' "Nothing can be done on this" - and at the end when I asked his name he said his real name again "Randy Vazquez" - sounded very sneaky and sleezy to me! If I were Hyundai I would get rid of that particular rep - he is awful! And train your customer service reps to be more responsive to customer's needs! Due to this, I will not recommend Hyundai to anyone I know any longer (even though i recommended you to my son who bought an Elantra - different model - in 2016) nor will I ever consider purchasing another Hyundai again! Very Poor Customer Service!! Very disappointed in you Hyundai! :-((

Bite The Bullet

Unreal/worst car in shop for total engender repair for half a year, under year old pre owned tires blew out Day three, waiting room for days never reimbursed.. TOO DISGUSTED TO WRITE MORE! How dare they have a right to treat paying patrons, & I could of been seriously hurt with NO! CONCERN!

Engines go out before 100k miles

Hyundai Elantras between the years of 2011-2014 are prone to needing an engine before 100k miles and are even recalled in Canada with full money back. American Hyundai refuses to take responsibility for their faulty parts and are screwing people out of half the cost of their vehicle. I will never buy from Hyundai again.

Hyundai Elantra 2013 ENGINE FAILURE AT 62K

Engine failure due to cheaping out on quality parts to save a buck. Thankfully I have the 100,000 mile drive train warranty, but I don't buy a car expecting it to eat shit and die at 62,000 miles. Not buying another hyundai anytime soon.

Started out good turned into a Dud

Loved the care the 1st couple of years great gas mileage. Then the honeymoon faze ended fast. Gas mileage dropped quick and my transmission had to be replaced. The dealership is average and Hyundai customer service is awful. I still have not been compensated for the gas mileage class action going on 6 years now. I do not for see a Hyundai car purchase in my future unless I feel like investing a lot of money long term. Quality is just not there. I would give the care a 5 out of 10 after 6 years of ownership.

Would Not Recommend

My 2013 Elantra is constantly in the shop with endless problems. While the warranty was great while it lasted, I would not recommend this car. I have had the entire engine replaced, as well as the radiator, and already have another engine problem with misfiring.

Bad quality

Elantras have horrible battery life . Back engine light left to be exact stay going out . The key starts has a defect where ppl can literally crank the car up with a charger port . I wouldn’t recommend anyone to get a Hyundai vehicle !!

unbelievable that the government will allow these fire hazard cars that you are told to park away from buildings to be on the road. they say there is no fix? so apparently its money over safety. Is this type of resolve protecting us or the car company?

2013 Elantra

This is my 5th Hyundai and the worst yet. It has had 3 recalls in 2.5 years. Previously, only had 1 for the 4 other vehicles. The vehicle is too low to the ground and catches on parking bumpers and some curbs. The gas mileage is not what was promised and is part of a class action suit. The trunk release on the keyless entry is nice but in an awkward place and keeps getting activated by accident. Generally, it is uncomfortable and not of the previous quality of Hyundai products. I don't think I'll get another one and definitely not from Hyundai of New Port Richey.

So so

I put a lot of miles on my cars, but I pamper them. This Elantra has 102,000 miles and is not even 3 years old. I have had a few issues with it that make me question QUALITY. My muffler has a "POP" sound that comes from it when heating up or cooling down...believe me, this is not normal metal expansion noise. I had the alternator bolt back out all the way to the engine mount (thank god for the engine mount, or my alternator would have fallen off). The dealership couldn't find this problem....I was having a horrible noise come from my engine compartment when I turned right. It took a friend looking under my hood to spot the bolt completely backed out to the engine mount. Now I have a front end noise on the left front side...strut maybe, but no one can determine and the dealership won't look at it for less that $87...and that won't go towards the fix.

Not Happy That Needed Steering Column Replaced on 1.5 Year Old Car.

Up until now I've loved my car and had few problems. Then the other day my power steering died suddenly (thankfully in a parking lot and not on the highway). I had my Toyota Taris for 3 years and never once had a problem. 2009-2010 models were recalled for power steering problems and another quick search turned up that there are quite a few reports of people whose 2013 cars had their power steering go out suddenly and needed the steering column replaced (as mine did). I used to consider Hyundai as safe and with few problems. Now I will have to remember this and factor this in when I decide whether I want a new one when my lease is up.

My Elantra 2013 has low 26 MPG compared to 33 MPG company had advertised and as per sticker. Secondly KEYES H in woodland Hills did not honor surface protection warranty purchased from KEYES H in Van Nuys and I had to drive to Van Nuys to do this.

Elantra 2013 was purchased due to sticker statement 40 MPG on HW and 30 on roads with 33 average. I had 26 MPG average right from the beginning. My complaints to company and dealer has not resulted in correcting the defect. I just want the company to fix the problem.

Poor quality car.

I started out liking the car good gas mileage good styling. Then the first winter came and I began to realize that this is one of the worst cars in the snow I've ever driven. Then the "lifters" in the engine went covered by warranty yes but a car that's two years old really? Now the fan for the heat and air conditioning makes a horrible sound. One more issue with quality. I'm early in the ownership of this car but I question my purchase more and more each day
