Hyundai Elantra 2013

not very happy with the way the car drives no pick up especially if you have the air on, every little bump pulls the car from you, feel like at times the car will acclerate on its own or you have to really give it gas to get it going.

Quick deterioratuon

After 30 to 40,000 miles the road noise, ride, comfort and handling seemed to plunge on the quality scale. About $19000 new in 2013 and I feel that I bought a $6000 used car. Not sure how much you have to spend for quality, but will try that with another Mfg.

Still a let down

I drove a 2018 Sport model and was blown away. Then got back in my 2013 and wanted to cry. The ride is way to harsh with zero rewards. It still has massive body sway on turns and yet ruins my back with every bump or pot hole. The interior design is not subtle or balanced. The sharp hour glass design is in poor taste. Steering feel and weight is good though.

Mechanical problems

The fuel pump and three solenoids have been replaced and it still has rough cold start. I have to return for a fourth visit. Had been reliable till three months ago and 75k miles. I have read other similar articles by people who have had the same issues with this vehicle.

made mistake but it's my first car.

i purchased this vehicle for mileage. later came to know about error. good that they are compensating for that error. but we paid high cost while purchasing thinking it will give good mileage. now over all cost of vehicle came down because of recalls. when i purchased its car of the year now its no where around. it has smaller fuel tank compared to other Elantra models, hardly comes for 310 miles on freeway.

Diminishing returns...

This is my third Elantra, loved the first, the second was OK but bland, this one has been a pain and the dealer I got it from had a very slippery service manager who continually blew smoke up my --- and the company never responded to my complaints...

within 4 four years of my vehicle I had to replace two times (total 8 tires), which cost me more. Tires get easily worn off or get bubble easily. Not comfortable ride in the vehicle. Accessories and other noise make car ride uncomfortable. parts and service are so expensive.

Not so good

Mechanical repairs started in the first year! Bad on tire's, have owned car for 6 years now and I'm on my fourth set of new tires! Can't get a 100% alignment because of something to do with the frame of the car! The car has several blind spots! There's more but point is, I don't recommend this car to anyone not even my worse enemy!

Elantra owner

Not well made had to have all 4 tires replaced they developed bubble also seating is very uncomfortable not made for long drives.also heater went in to high gear in the summer time heater would stay on even with the air conditioning on.very noisy even with windows closed.

Hyundai Elantra 2013

Car is nice but I had to get the brakes done often. Even when it was fairly new. I also had to purchase other expensive car parts before the car was even a year old. I heard that these cars are problematic for the brakes. Most likely would never buy another Hyundai.

Do not buy this car

About 6 months ago my car started to intermittently cut off while driving stall to start up, wont accelerate. I went to Hyundai service several times & they cannot fixit say they dont know whats wrong

Almost a lemon

Car is problematic, it seem to not have enough power engine, electric, have to bring to dealer for lights 3 times already. I have brought it to dealer so many times. Would not buy a Hyundai for my next new car purchase.

Review

Disappointed with this vehicle cheap leather on steering wheel that is peeling off. In the past I rarely had to start putting money into the car until it was about 8 years old this car started costing at 4 years old. Noise level inside increases every year was only a quiet ride for the first year on the road. This car is now on its third battery. Not impressed with the Hyundai product. Would not purchase again or recommend.

1.8L Nu Engine has serious issues

This car was purchased as a dedicated commuter vehicle, and it has excelled at that task until the 1.8L Nu engine failed due to the infamous piston slap issue. I am currently trying to get Hyundai to replace it under extended warranty as they have done with many in Canada. I am hoping Hyundai steps up and does the right thing to try to keep me as a customer. Other than this one issue, the Elantra has been great.

Paint ripping

Brand new car in 2013 and paint is literally ripping off. No damage has ever happened to the hood or roof. Body shop says defective paint. ZERO HELP FROM HMFUAS! I understand that warranty is 3 years or 36,000 miles but when a product has a defect, and there are many documented complaints, I would hope you would reconsider your policy.

VERY POOR SERVICE.

THE CAR WOULD BE TOPS BUT NOT WITH THE GPS NEVER WORKING RIGHT AND EXTRA POOR SERVICE WHEN I BRING IT BACK. I NEED A BRAND NEW GPS PUT IN IT SO I CAN ENJOY MY CAR. THE CAR HAS HAD VERY NOISY WHEELS SINCE I HAD IT AND I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK SEVERAL TIMES. IT PROBABLY NEEDED NEW BRAKES,PADS AND ROTORS WHEN I GOT IT, SO 2 YEARS LATER ,I JUST PAID MUCH LESS YESTERDAY FOR THEM. FROM SOMEONE ELSE.ALSO I HAVE TAKEN THE GPS BACK ALSO MANY TIME ONLY TO HAVE SOME YOUNG GUY TO COME OUTSIDE AND PUSH BUTTONS. THEY WONDER WHY I HARDLY PUT MILES ON IT. wELL THE GPS GETS ME LOST AND I AM AFRAID OF KILLING MY 3 GRANDCHILDREN IN IT. DOES MR.FUCCILLO REALY KNOW WHAT GOES ON THERE? ...NINA DIOGUARDI

Too many issues at 67-76 k miles

My first 07 was great this Elantra nothing but factory recalls extended warranty and parts failing early ... all the engine coils went at 68k , air bag recall , brake recall , faulty steering wheel cupler now a letter for a suspension issue if you suspect bring it in ... $135.00 for diagnostic if not factory warranty issue ! Yet says bring it in if noting certain symptoms. Headache ... think I’m done with Hyundai sad they were up there in value and quality

Okay car

I inherent my car from my mother when she passed away 2018. The car is not design for tall people. Like myself at 6’6 who happens to have issues getting into the car. The truck is also too small for cargo. Just wish this car had 4 doors instead of 2. As well a bit wider and height. The performance of speed is really slower for 4 cyclers. No pick up at all. The anti- slip system is only designed for wet seasons (rain) Not snow. Up here in northern of Maine weather get pretty icy and snowy. This car was not designed on these weather conditions. The car slides all over the road. Just wished my mother bought a bit bigger car before passed away.

Ok car

Hyundai ELANTRA’s are OK car good on gas but I don’t like the way it feels on the road it’s not smooth at all do you feel every bump no matter the suspension you have tires it doesn’t matter you feel everything I drove other cars that were the same kind of cars as holidays and they don’t feel the same they feel more smoother than a Hyundai ELANTRA

Easy to steal

Needs better safety features. Car is easy to be stolen. Car is great on gas mileage but maintenance must be kept up. I would not recommend this vehicle because of the easy access to be stolen. Other than that vehicle very reliable.
