2017 Elantra

Terrible pickup, don't pull out in front of anyone , feels very small. Not for more than 4 people. Looks nice good highway miles. Poor city mileage- around town mileage, it doesn't get what was stated

Poor

I had my vehicle broken into and my alarm didn't go off and Hyundai could of cared less. I'm not saying they were responsible for the damage just a little more compassion but no right away first thing to come out of there mouth was we are not responsible for the damage this happens to Ford all the time.

Something isn’t right

I got the car off the lot with 50 miles on it. I change my oil every two months and rotate my tires every 6 months at the sane dealership I purchased from. I’ve had the car since Feb. 2017. Under 3,5000 so far. My I had to change the battery that came with the car in 11 months. Got it replaced at the same dealership. 9/10 months later, another dead battery. My car sputters uncontrollably and my engine light just turned on 6 days after my oil change. This is all in less than 2 years of me having the car. I’m not a bad driver, because I have no accidents on record and all my tires are all still the original ones that came with the car, with tread still on them. Though I’m due to change them now in a month or two, because I know better. I don’t think this is fair considering I bought the car at a high price to avoid the “piece of sh** car happenings”, that’s actually happening! And the car is less than 2 years old. I’m confused, discourage and so disappointed and worst of all, I don’t know who to trust and who to talk to that honestly wants to help and sees this in the same matter as I do, as it’s suppose to be seen. I pay good money and I’ve been loyal even now. I don’t understand why my car is failing on me, I don’t understand why I’ve spent all this money and am not receiving the help i deserve, the car I paid for, am paying for (also mentally, which shouldn’t be). It’s strange and something it’s right.

NOT THE BEST

dash board rattles, wind comes in through door seals and windows, seats not to comfy. Would never buy a Hyundai again. Customer service is Horrible. The service bay is worst. all this is in Carson where we got the car from.

Nice Car but.....

The car rides nice. I enjoy all the tech and safety features. My complaint is the quality of the materials used. Scratches appear easily in the plastic interior finishes. Especially the interior handles and gray trim. I take extremely good car of my vehicle and there is multiple scratches in the plastic. With all the plastic, going down the highway has noises I can not pin point. Somewhere in the windshield and dash area you hear noises.

The more I drive it the less I like it.

The car is ok. It does it's job. Outside desing is nice, inside is quite pretty too, the problem is it's not long lasting. Inside paint/leather or whatever the coating is started to peel off after having the car for less than 3 years. Ignition coils gave up already 3 times withing year or year and a half... Very inconvenient. I'm not thrilled with the quality of the car, but to be fair for the price point it was "packed" literally with everything you may want to have in a car. I wouldn't buy it again, but if someone looks for well equipped car from the lower price range - it will do.

not a great car

I purchased a 2017 Hyundai Elantra brand new. So far I have had to have it serviced 3 times, with this last time already have to bring it back 2 days later for the same issue. I already had to replace my battery, and Hyundai has a horrible warranty on their batteries. I am just upset as I have never had so many issues with a brand new car ever and I have had several new cars.

Dieselgate Replacement, but failing to reach that low bar

I bought my Hyundai after suffering thru VW's 'Diesel-Gate". Research indicated that Hyundai had made great strides in quality and they had a VW owner incentive at the time so I bought Hyundai. After 59k miles I am underwhelmed with the quality. It has been in for a door solenoid (warranty repair) after just 18k miles, and then at 59k it was in twice to resolve engine misfire that strongly mimicked going into "limp mode" in a turbo. Losing 25% of my power at 75MPH was not a pleasant experience and to suffer thru that two times really destroyed my perception of the quality of their build. While it has been a nice surprise to exceed the fuel economy by 5-10%(35mpg hwy but I get 40+), the frustrations of just finding someplace that can get the tires of the rims is a thorn in the side. Now electric issues :( I can handle mechanical issues but electrical is very disconcerting when I have a daily commute of 70 miles per day. The warranty is now gone and I am unsure whether I should keep this 2yr 4mth old car. Its paid for which is a plus, but a modern car should be reliable the first 5 years in my mind and hwy miles are the easiest on a car so is it going to make another 2.5 years or will I end up with either a money pit or giant paperweight? The car is not to VW quality standards in my mind. Neither is it to Japanese car quality standards, of which I'e owned a few. It is better than American in my mind but that is a very low bar. If it is wanting to be known for quality its going to have to get a better than hanging out in the average group of the field of competitors.

Love the car but has had a lot of problems.

Love all the amenities the car has to offer love the warranty and the color but, I think my car was built on a Friday at 5 PM. I have had a lot of problems and should have given it back when the air conditioning went out three days after I took it home. My automatic defrost system still doesn’t work the shop just tired it off instead of replacing the sensor and the engine was just replaced after only 26,000 miles. Other than all of that I love my little car and next time I buy one I am def going to ask when it was manufactured. Oh and the paint chips really easily, and since the engine replacement seems like there isn’t the same pickup as it had before. ?

overall rating of my vehicle

too much road noise and ride is rough and it sits to low to ground which makes it hard to get in and out of it. would not buy another one or recommend to anybody else to buy one. the one good thing i can say about it is that the gas mileage is great.

Unhappy customer

This is my fourth Hyundai and by far my biggest mistake. My other Hyundai’s I never brought in for service to the dealer. I did normal maintenance myself and those cars all had over 100,000 up to over 180,000 miles on them. This car I have now has only 40,000 miles and has been in the shop twice now and the problem still isn’t fixed. This is the poorest quality car I’ve had from Hyundai. I will not buy another.

Dissatisfied.

I can’t wait to get rid of it. The first 3 months I liked it but the more I drove it the more I disliked it. I didn’t test drive it before I bought it, which was stupid on my part. The difficulty I had getting it should have been a sign not to.

Cute but small, rough ride, and noisy.

Our prior Hyundai was a Sonata and we liked it a lot. The car was totaled in a wreck and we bought the Elantra. The price was right, the car looks great and the gas mileage is VERY good. After you get past those good points, the car is a BIG disappointment. It is too small (probably our fault for buying it) and the ride is rough and very noisy.

Not very satisfied

Overall the vehicle quality is poor. I like the look of it but once you have the vehicle for a few months you can see the quality of it not being the best. I’ve never had a dealership be so little help after I purchased the vehicle as I experienced with Ron Carter. I now know why I was so pressured to do the survey before I left the dealership and offered 3 tanks of fuel which I was never able to receive due to them being to busy every time I tried. Very unhappy overall.

My Hyundai Elantra is letting me down.

My Elantra keeps giving me trouble. It's only 2 years old. The coils keep going bad. 3 times in 5 weeks. I don't feel comfortable in my car again. I use to enjoy my car. Now I'm fearful to have trouble because you're not respected or treated well when you get it fixed at Fort Mill Hyundai.

Mysterious engine light!

Even getting 2 years old gave a engine light lit up. It comes and goes not stayed. When check with professionals they said there is no history. Made me stressed so much and finally after 3 weeks it stayed up. And sooner I went to a service center. They returned me because I’m not having a scheduled appointment. What should I say even not having 50k miles of it. God blessed you if you have a Hyundai Elantra!

Good looking car.

Its a very good looking car. Bought as got a better deal compared to Honda Civic. But the car is not reliable and very expensive to get serviced. Some of the dealers charges way to high. I believe they charge as much as you can get charged for a premium segment cars.

Inadequate

For starters there has been a recall.on the braking system for most of my model year. However conveniently mine is bot part of that recall, even though it has been in two accidents due to the lack of performance from the brakes, and the fact that the recall even states the malfunction.increases the necessary braking distance required to stop. Then my transmission needed replaced at 10,000 miles and I wasn't given the reason after resolution. As I barely made it home safely due to the transmission malfunction. Lastly, the winter handling and performance was very poor, especially that fact that the traction control kicks in on wet paint surfaces and basically causes the whole car to convulse in a sense.

Dissatisfied

Seems cheaply made, vehicle sits way too low. Pieces are coming off the interior and the clear coat/paint is melting. Sounds like the windows in the front aren't rolled all the way up while driving. The tires roar while driving. I do love the way it looks, the way it handles the road, and curves. My favorite new car so far.

Good car bad paint

The vehicle drives excellent, love the 1.4 turbo engine. Low GPM , I do between 40 and 50. Noise inside car could be slightly lower. Extremely spacious, I'm 6.7 and can stretch legs. Definitely not happy with paint quality, is falling off rapidly, started just after 36000 miles, affecting hood and roof, big concern and did not get proper feedback. Pending on outcome will definitely affect my love for the car and will not plan to purchase any Hyundai anymore nor will I recommend.
