Should be Included In Engine Recall

Would have rated no stars. We purchased this car used with 82k miles and didn't have nothing but a few days before engine problems started occuring. Hyundai doesn't want to take responsibility for the engine issue. So please save yourself the headache.

Engine unresponsive

The engine has a delay when going from low speeds, then a surge in lower gears. The car shutters when idling in traffic. I’m worried the delay at red lights may pose a problem to drivers behind the car. Technology is user friendly and design is attractive. Seats are comfortable and cabin is well appointed. Great gas mileage.

The value edition

I bought this car to be a daily driver commuting to and from work. I thought this would be a cheap little gas saver. I fill up once a week. It drives well it has a lag in speed now that it has reached 3000 miles. The seats are a problem. Can't drive for long periods of time. My back starts to hurt, no lumbar support. I never experienced this in any of my other cars. I had to buy a lumbar support for it.

Lemon hidden with a nice exterior and interior.

Seat warmers come on by themselves, passenger seatbelt light comes on when nobody is sitting in the seat, air comes on by itself. And apparently there’s nothing the dealership can do. Absolutely nuts.

I am very disappointed with this car, if I could I would trade it today. This car get very poor gas mileage and ride like an iron whell wagon. My nissan Altima get much better gas mileage and ride a lot better.

Don't know what this is?

Not reliable! I never know if the car will start. Steering wheel locks. The last time this happened (Sat) I pulled into a parking space, backed up so I could pull in correctly and straightened the steering wheel (Usually I don't do this.) I tapped the steering wheel and said "please start when I come back". It was a very light tap. It did not start when I returned. The strong gentleman that helped me turned the wheel by tugging it very hard - pushed the key into the ignition really far in and started the car. I have been told to jiggle the wheel, but this last time I could not budge the steering wheel.

Completely disappointed and considering trading it in at 3500 miles. This says I need to write 200 characters in this box, but I really don't have anything else to say about this vehicle, so that's it.

You have to be kidding

The car itself is not bad but trying to get into your trunk when some part is damaged is rediculous. I placed some Christmas ornaments in the trunk, it didn’t open and they wanted to charge me 850.00 to open it. Cause you had to bust the rear light and replace all parts. Come to find out is a defect. Not anything else. Hyundai give other options for getting into that trunk.

Elantra

I really do not like it. The car is everywhere. The wind takes me off the road. The car shakes as u hit the gas. Leans off one side when turning And sad that they can’t do a 4 tier alignment cuz one of my wheels in the rear is off and my casters r off but there’s no way to adjust it from what I was told from the dealer. The car feels hurrible for a brand new car and only 5k Miles!! But hyundai of Ocala won’t do nothing about it. But just keep lying. So my rate of the car i give it a 2. Lucky for even that.

Tire problems

My new Elantra had a tire problem on new vehicle. It cost me a week of repair time and out of pocket expenses to cover rental car insurance plus two trips to the dealer. Seems like this was not the first time they had this issue. Ricart did what they could and provided an Enterprise rental for a week while I waited and they even delivered my keys and parking sticker to me at home.

Car too small, and too light....road noise terrible! trunk room too small.... headlights too dull......uncomfortable on long trips.. pickup slow coming onto highway...miss Sonata's quality and comfort

Ok car, Overpriced, was quite when first bought the car but it seems to be getting louder and loose already. I feel I paid to much for this vehicle. I hope it holds up well. I don’t think it will. Owned three Hyundias probably will be my last.

I will never purchase the elantra again.

My transmission seems to be having issues that are undetectable per the service techs My car is having a hard time shifting gears after 2 gear. My side heated mirrors fog up. The 2015 model has the bluelink option the 2018 doesn't. NOT Good!

Fun Summer Car, Terrible Winter Car

This car is terrible in the winter. If there is any snow or ice on the road, it struggles to accelerate. Engine roars, but car hardly moves. I would not recommend this car to anyone. It doesn't feel safe and I value my safety. Disappointed.

Poor quality of the interior materials

The dashboard and the ceiling are poor quality is getting scratched to easy. I use a soft cloth to clean my dashboard and it's full o scratches, same with the ceiling. The rear defroster stopped working after 1 month. Will never buy a Hyundai car

Major repair at 6400 miles

Looking at my car I still love it but now I’m scared of what’s going to go wrong next. VERY disappointed in the problems I’ve had with it ! Dealership has so far been great about taking care of problems BUT how does alternator need replacing at 6400 miles and the bad alternator is what led me to believe my battery was going bad so I purchased new battery and after contacting Hyundai I’ve been told I will be reimbursed for the cost of battery so THANK YOU for the check I was told is coming in the mail !! That really is appreciated !!! Thank you

DEATHTRAP

under powered and stalling at acceleration. I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone. It was a fair priced car at purchased but if I knew of the acceleration issue "PROBLEM" I would have looked for another vehicle. I guess that is what I get for not asking to test drive the car before I purchased it....

hyundai is qui kly turnkng back to junk

have a look at toyota and others before you buy a hyundai. it appears hyundai is going back to their old ways of junk and cheap parts with high prices. with this in mind i can not recommemd a purchase at this time .

Overall not happy

I have submitted an honest response to your survey request. When I first purchased the car I was hesitant This would be my 2nd hyundai and thought I would give Hyundai a 2nd try. I was not satisfied after the first month. I guess some cars don’t work for everyone. This was just the car that didn’t work for me. I sent a survey in as requested after initially purchasing the Elantra and made suggestions. No return response from Hyundai I’ve moved on and traded
