Just Bought a One Owner 2013 Equus Sig with 63K miles and my wife loves the car to boot

What a bargain I feel like I got. Ran a 150 point inspection check list at a dealer and he said buy it. Bought the car for under 20K (Pre Owned with NO WARRANTY.) This is the smoothest ride I've found. Great performance and beauty. All the bells and whistles.. Buy one used for cash. You will really think you are smart.

problems

although the service dept. has been extremely helpful, there continues to be a serious with the rear view camera. at night there is blur from the back up lights, to the point that it becomes a safety factor. camera has been replaced without any change in view. the problem is greatly magnified in fog when it becomes serious. Jason has researched the problem with other tech people at Hyundai, but without a real solution.

NICE VEHICLE

THE CAR HAVE NOT GIVEN ME ANY MAJOR PROBLEMS YET. KNOCK ON WOOD. BUT I DONT LIKE THE DASH BOARD HAD TO REPLACE IT AT NAPLETONS AND ITS BUBBLING UP ALREADY. THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT RATTLES A LOT. AND THE FRONT BUMPERS IS PEALING LIKE CRAZY WITH BROWN SPOT SO THE PAINTINT OF THE BUMPER NEEDS TO BE BETTER. NOW I HAVE TO GET IT PAINTED.

Quality Looks and Value

Once this vehicle reaches 100,000 miles, it begins to break down with costly expenses. If you do not have an extended warranty cost are in the thousands of dollars. Warranty company must approve all repairs paid by them which may take a couple of extra days.

Hyuandi Equus...Not yet a true luxur car.

Excellent car initially. Drives quite well, and quite powerful. However, it depreciates rapidly with little trade in value, and major quality issues, especially after 50,000 miles. If the Genesis line is to every be on a level of Lexus, BMW, Hyundai has to concentrate on the quality and durability of their product and their service facilities.

My 2013 Equus Experience

My only problem with this vehicle is the loud wind noise, the small cup holder, and the black smoke emitting from the tail pipes that the dealership said they couldn't do anything about. The black smoke really discolor the rear of the vehicle.

I have owned and driven this 2013 Hyundai for 3 1/2 yrs experiencing two problems, flat tires with nails and dead batteries in remote controls. I have gotten many positive comments and many head turns. So far the durability, driveability and engineering quality has stood the test.

Dreamy drive, but a bit complicated

Very loaded and tremendous car. I would give more stars except tires wear very quickly and the car is so complicated, that the dealership even needs to call corporate to figure out how to fix, and replaced parts may not turn off the warning lights. (tpms light and they cant figure out...) I use about 75% of the gadgets, and if I was smart I would take the time to learn the rest. I bought because I take a lot of clients out and its the best back seat... the more complicated a car is, the more expensive the repairs, so keep it in mind if your not used to paying 1300 for 4 new tires....

Hyundai is trying

Poor handling in cross winds. Exterior window trim has not performed well. Not planning to buy the G80 or G90 when warranty is up. Dealer I purchased from will not get any future business from me. Have found another dealer with better service department. Concierge service is not worth it after the first year.

Almost perfect.

Only negative is electronics. During sunlight hours very hard to see screen. If they would just do what they do with maps/ Nav. Make day stuff white back round and keep night setting to black back round. Makes sense??? Using GPS...entering location could be easier. Otherwise I like better than my previous LS400, Q45 and Cadillac DTS.

2013 Equus Review

Great vehicle. Comfortable, quiet and safe. I was in an accident a year and a half ago and chose the Equus for the safety features. I hope to never try out the features that make this car safe. I wish I could turn off the Adaptive Cruise Control. Most of the time it is great, however, in heavy traffic in large cities where cars dart from lane to lane on the interstate. It can be a little irritating.

2013 equus signature

I love my equus overall size, weight, color, comfort, immenties, etc. with a few caveats like 2 different wheel sizes, alarm horn cheap sound like an elantra not good, it's seemingly losing the smooth ride it had at time of purchase, too small glove box

Love the car, but dealer does not deliver a loaner as promised

Absolutely love the car, both styling and performance. Service has been great, but he dealer fails to insure a loaner as promised. Many times the manager fails to return my calls. Therefore, I just make other arrangements. Only other issue I have is that it seems that resale value is not up to par with the other cars it competes with, BMW and Mercedes. When the time comes for replacement, I will have to see if I get another one. If comfort, style, and reliability were a factor I would, but if the resale value is so poor, I am better off with an alternate vehicle

Love the car, except for the electronics.

I like almost everything about the car except the sound system and nav system. It's amazing that a car of this level of luxury will not stream bluetooth music from my iPhone. I have rented many inexpensive cars here and abroad, and all had music streaming. Even less expensive Hyundais can stream music. I will not consider another (now-) Genesis until they have Apple CarPlay. Likewise the nav system is completely un-intuitive. Hyundai should license Garmin technology, which is very easy to use. On the other hand, the big V8 is an amazing engine!
