My View of this car

Overall I like the style of the car but for a 3.8 litre engine I think the car is underpowered and the engine performance below 3000 revs is very poor. The gear selecter seems to be out of sync when power is needed and does'nt change down unless in self select

Pls don’t call it luxury

Good car for the money. However, front bumper starting peeling in one year and car started rattling in 1.5 years. My ‘99 hoopty never had these issues. Unacceptable for a so-called “luxury” car in my opinion. Brought it to a Hyundai dealer who said they can’t service it because it’s a Genesis, the luxury brand. I laughed and left.

Owned 2 Genesis Coupes

First one was great. Had 4 yrs then totaled 2nd one had nothing but issues at 12000 miles car over heated. Then at 15000 in dealer 6 times couldn't figure out. I had to get headquarters involved to get it fixed.

Good fun

Good overall performance. Enjoyable to drive. Can be somewhat economical, but can also be a guzzling beast if driven for fun. The look was the appeal for me. That and 340hp for less than 40k. It has pros and cons but overall it is a fun car and I enjoy it.

Always turning heads everywhere I go

I have had my Genesis Coupe for over a year now. Everywhere I go I'm complicated for the beauty of it and with good reason. Not only is this car gorgeous but it's also fun to drive! It's responsive and easy to maneuver. I only have two complaints. The first is that the stock stereo does not pair well with my Ipod. When plugged in it plays my files in a strange order and I can not select songs or albums. Because of that I usually opt to use the music on my phone via Bluetooth. The second, and most annoying, is that the placement of the air vents is awkward. They are directly behind the steering wheel and it took me quite long to adjust them at an angle where I could get the air out into the cabin and not just blowing directly into my hands.

Great Genesis

The only thing I think could be improved is opening / closing doors feel and sound like Tim cans. I think a little sound deadening inside doors and redesign on weatherstripping may help. The other item especially with the Genesis Ultimate I really would expect a rear view camera.
