Quality is valueless

My navigation system had a problem raised within first year after I bought this vehicle, system freeze and delay. I went (I thought 2 or 3 times at first year) to Keyes Hyundai dealer at Van Nuys, CA to fix this problem and they said,"we couldn't find any problem and system is fine to work." The disaster start from that point finally my navigation system completed gone for operating and I went to the other hyundai dealer and I found the warranty is expired few month ago because main audio unit have only 3 yrs warranty and they offered around$5,000 to replace the part. I believed this is not my fault, the fault is belong to Keyes Van Nuys Hyundai dealer due to workmanship failure. I brought up this issue several times within a year after purchased new vehicle however the dealer's diagnose was fail to discovered the problem. Now Keyes Van Nuys Hyundai not willing to have responsibility their workmanship failure. Don't buy any hyundai vehicle. Their vehicle's quality and services so poor and I want stated that is trash.

2011 Genesis has ABS problem

After driving Genesis for 7 years, ABS is broken. I received estimate and it was $3300 for just for the part. Current milage is 110,000 miles and Hyundai 100K milage warranty is useless. I purchased many cars and ABS never goes bad. I will never purchase Hyundai car ever again.

At 26000 miles had to have idler pulls and belt replaced. You can rest assured it was not done by Hyundai!

Would never buy another one. Maybe just the service you don't get at the Modesto dealer ship.

Overated

Vehicle was purchased before moving to Bartlesville. 42K mile review. Electrical is terrible. Heat seat is out , windows do not work all of the time, GPS does not work consistantly. Finish of exterior is terrible. Clearcoat is coming off in 3 places and looks terrible.

My Hyundia Genesis

We purchased the top of the line, fully loaded 2011 Genesis from the dealer and and have been very satisfied until we noticed the wheels, which appeared to be metal were actually what looks like plastic and the silver paint started to flake off . Now my Genesis, Hyundai's flagship car, has silver and black wheels. The fix would be out of my pocket to the tune of several hundred dollars a wheel or lose money at tradin/sale. We currently own 2 Hyundais and I can promise you when I replace the Genesis it will not be with another Hyundai product. Keep in mind in 2011 the Genesis was their bid to enter the Mercedes/BMW class...with painted wheels....really?

Mixed feelings.

Mechanically a very sound car. Fun to drive. Paint started to peel about 50K miles. Told warranty expired at 35K on paint job. Interior roof covering developed lots of loose threads. Headlights fogged up and two $60 cleanings did not last. Need to buy two new aftermarket headlights. Someday a multi thousand dollar paint job and interior restoration.

My Old Buddy

I purchased my 2011 Hyundai brand new. The car has been reliable and is a great highway cruiser. My only complaint is in the HVAC system. The AC is horrible for a modern car. When I first purchased the car, I returned it to the dealer a few times. This is where it all kinda went bad. It's the Service Department stupid. They can make or break your business. Anywho, they said the AC was working properly but I can say it will not cool the interior of my car when it's over 90 degrees. If you want a boring car that will be reliable....go for it.

The vehicle is very dependable and durable. However, after the vehicle reached the 70,000 mark, the engine began to make a rattling noise during cold starts. Many owners have expressed the same concerns, yet Hyundai acted on our concerns!

Would not recommend this vehicle. 1. 3.8-liter engine sucks ( cold start death rattle) 2. Automatic wiper system sucks (intermittent interval to long,does not adjust proportionally to rain conditions. 3. ride comfort disappointing

Genesis

Had a small steering problem which was corrected. Also had some electrical problems. Cannot keep parking/running light working. Have had it replaced several times. Smooth ride and enough room in back seat for long legged boys.

Korean Mercedes

I had heard this vehicle described as a Korean "Mercedes" and they were right. It took some getting used to (I have been a Buick driver for many years), but I adjusted to the lightly stiffer ride, quicker handling, quicker braking, and better acceleration. First auto with adaptive cruise control - I like it, although it took a while to adjust to it.

2011 Genesis 3.8 L

The 2011 model falls short of my expectations. I liked the car initially when I test drove it and bought it. Later I find out that the sounds system is of poor quality. Even when adjusting the EQ controls. The suspension on this 2011 model is so tight that you can feel EVERY little bump and pebble in the road. Sure, it takes the corners well, but all at the sacrifice of a smooth ride. I hear the 2015 model has the ability to switch from tight suspension to smooth ride. Wish this model had that feature. The seats are not very comfortable for a long road trip. The padding is on the firm side and I prefer a little plush/softness. The lumbar support is not positioned in the right spot and the curve is too pronounced. Even when adjusting it so that the curve is at it's lowest rise, it still gives me that feeling that someone is poking me in the back. Love the extra space inside the cabin. Plenty of room and easy to get in and out of the car. Lots of head room and trunk space. Would buy another one now that I've test driven the 2015 model. Because that year's model has all the comforts and features I prefer. And the 3.8L even has a sunroof now!

Luxury "driving machine"

This car is more comfortable, drives as well and has more bells and whistles than I need, but I love it and plan to run up the miles before probably trading in for a new Genesis in the future. Before I even knew about the Genesis, a friend of mine bought the coupe and loved it, but just too small for me to climb in and out of every day. This sedan has all the luxury, performance and comfort that you would expect from the highest class of driving machines - Great deal in my opinion and best car I've owned to date for the money.

Paint peeled, bubbled and rust on rear fender at 50K miles. Want 7-8K to repainted. No warranty. Dashboard button on/off lights and monitor hard to see in daylight.

The Gen I'm In

This is a very smooth ride. Beautiful body. Great sound system until the casing in the trunk starts to rattle and I'm told I now have to get some type of insulation to fix the rattle from the base. Why put an awesome sound system in that can't withstand the magnitude of the base. Then Hyundai technicians don't have an in house solution Handles pretty well. Brake system a bit wonky. Lots of leg room. Blind spots all over the place.

2011 Gensis 4.6

Bought the 2011 Genesis as a CPO still somewhat of a kid as it's a 385HP V8. Having said that I have taken several long trips in it and I am thoroughly amazed that I get 28MPG on regular gas at a cruising speed of 75+ MPH. The car looks great, the radio system is beyond belief, and the features are hard to beat for the price. Love the car but I have had numerous electrical issues with it. Fortunately I purchased the warranty that covers all of the major systems and have not spent one cent in getting my repairs done. This includes the car computer which is in excess of $7K.
