Buyer beware

I like to 2015 style, but as I expected when I purchased the care there are a handful of issues/bugs with the car that need to be worked out. The 2016 model should fix many of the issues. I would have recommended this car to others just a couple months ago, but now I am not sure that I would recommend it because there are too many problems that needed to be fixed and my car, and it only has 6,000 miles on it.

2015 Genesis 5300 miles and 12 repairs/recalls

I had a 2011 Sonata that i should have never traded for this 2015 Genesis nightmare. Several repairs and recalls not to mention the navigation and computer multiple trips to get the glitches out. Now a gas cover that takes someone to help lift when pushing the release button and a automatic transmission that doesn't shift right.I cannot wait until my Lease is up!

Not Good Vehicle

I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone. It has had many problems and they cannot or will not be fixed. I have been insulted by service advisors telling me the problems were not the car's but the operator(s) of the vehicle.

two major repairs

First my trans went and it took a month to get the part. Luckily that was still on warranty. At 64 thousand miles the computer screen with the radio, bluetooth, navigation blew, and I was told it would need a 3000 dollar repair and to pay a deposit on the part. Unacceptable. One of the service reps suggested an appeal, it was put in and rejected but the rep said he would ask for a review and put it in again.

Love the car when it is running properly but unfortunately I have had numerous issue with mine.

I absolutely love the concept of the Genesis but unfortunately I have had multiple issues with my 2015 Genesis. At one point they even replaced the entire engine at less than 40000 miles because they could not find the source of the problem. It is also been in for electrical and sensor issues and the latest issue was with the engine cooling system. I have nothing but good things to say about the dealership as they are always very accommodating and go above and beyond to get me taken care of but no one should be in and out of a dealership so much that all of the Service Reps know who you are when you call or come in.

Stay away!!

This vehicle has had recurring problems with the sunroof, turn signals and trim. As some one already mentioned: "not ready for prime time." This is not what I expect from a luxury car and the manufacturer appears ill-equipped or disinterested in handling handle the problems.

Poor

The Genesis has the potential to be a good car but I think I just got badly assembled car. I have had a problem with accelerator pause when applying the gas at low speeds. The vehicle does not respond when the gas pedal is pressed- really a very dangerous situation when executing a turn across oncoming traffic and the vehicle won’t move. The dealership has been very responsive replacing a censor and even replaced the transmission. The new transmission is noisy until warmed up. The original tranny didn’t make noise like the replacement tranny. I think the issues with vehicle are beyond the dealership as hard as they have tried to provide great service. Can’t say enough good things about the service person and the dealership

Mechanical Issues & Not Worth The Price

We have had issues with this car within a year of buying. Still no resolution. Just doesn’t want to start at random times. This car does not hold it’s value and is not worth the money spent. Try trading in your Genesis, you’ll see what we mean.

Genesis performance/reliability

Only 18000 miles on this vehicle and have to replace all wheels and tires which were not engineered to drive on mid-west highways. Also, have a acceleration hesitation problem that cannot be resolved, this is a safety issue.
