Great EV

We did extensive research online on youtube including users experiences in all kinds of weather. The Ioniq5 was hands down the favorite. We have owned it 11,000 miles and loved every minute. We get 370 miles / charge in the summer. 250 in the winter. It works well for us.

Best car I've driven in my 55 years of driving

The Ioniq 5 is the best car, overall, I've owned in my 55 years of driving. The engineering and design are both solid and innovative, and the car is a real pleasure to drive. It's very fast-charging (18 minutes from 20% to 80%, 30 minutes to 100%), and the range is impressive. On a 4,000+-mile round trip from the New York City area to Albuquerque this past spring, we averaged about 230 miles per charge. The Electrify America charging made the trip extremely economical. The only negative is the lack of a rear wiper and washer, which seriously diminishes driver visibility in inclement weather.

Fun car with solid performance

The electric drive provides quick acceleration. The high voltage charging is very quick and it takes about 17 minutes to get 80% charge. Everything feels solid. The shooting star paint glistens in the sun

I Love my 2022 -23 Ioniq 5 Both of them !! 2022Radio sound sucks !!

I love my first ever EV's The Ioniq 5 is a good value in the EV market, but get the limited. Tommy Chiarenza who owns RTE 60 Hyundai here in Vero Beach FL. is the most honest and fair car man I have ever met. A special thanks to TOM KIM of Hyundai North America.

Hyundai IONIQ 5 2022 US AWD

Probably the best vehicle on road even in 2023. It’s performance, looks, aesthetics all are outstanding. I love it’s capability of charging to 80% level within max 18 minutes from a commercial DC charger

Roomy Car with High Range

We have put 25,000 miles on this car in one year and it has saved us thousands in gas money. This is a great, affordable electric vehicle with lots of interior room for people and stuff. You can fold the seats flat to be able to haul stuff from IKEA or your bike.

Pretty much the perfect car

Fast, looks good, basically free to operate, roomy, and quiet... Zero problems. What could be better? The color is both unusual and nice. We have solar, do the electrons are free. I love my Porsche, but this is legitimately the best car I have ever owned.

Best EV for your Dollar

Everything you need in an EV. Great range and fun to drive. This should be the first EV everyone gets. The value for the Ioniq 5 is unmatched. 55,000 miles in the first year $0 maintence costs. Highly recommend

Excellent vehicle

We are very happy with the Ioniq 5. A few feature disappoints but overall very satisfied. Navigation system not as good as Apple Car Play maps so we don't use the nav system. Hold and press feature to open the liftgate can be annoying.

Great looking car

Love the exterior of the car and spacious interior. Plenty of leg room for passengers. Charges quickly and gets a good range. Nice perk to get 2 years of free charging at Electrify America stations. Bluelink app needs some improvement, and they shouldn't charge customers for it (you get app free for only two years!). A lot of technology--can be overwhelming to figure out.

The coolest car on the market

There’s a reason everyone rates this the car of the year. It has all the important safety features, accelerates like a beast, is fun to drive, and looks trendy. I have no regrets about purchasing. I want the IONIQ 7 next

Very happy with my Ioniq5

This is a great EV! It has one of, if not the best, charging times you can get and a good range. The design is unique and eye-catching. I get compliments all the time. It's extremely comfortable and the space is well-designed to be very functional. I especially love the flat floors because I can carry so much more and load/unload things more easily. I like how the console can be flipped back out of the way (and block dogs from trying to get up front). I love the two horizontal screens, as they are easier to see while keeping my eyes on the road. It looks much more innovaoand futuristic and is safer to use than the Tesla screen, which just looks like they stuck sn oPad on the dash - a pretty lazy design. I also live the manual contry for quick things I do while driving, like adjust the climate and media. This is so much more intuitive, quicker, and safer than making everything in a menu you access via touchscreen.

Love my Ioniq 5!

First electric car purchase and we've had a wonderful experience with it! Fun to drive, great to look at and performs as advertised. We were a bit concerned about being an early adopter, but we've had great luck with it so far.

Ioniq 5 Is Great

-------------------------------------------- Top 5 things I like, in no order: -------------------------------------------- -It's all electric. No more stops at gas stations, so far for me this has worked out great as I have charging for free at my work place and 99% of the time I charge at work. Really it's one of the main reasons I went all electric. 40 miles to and from work per day in gas could add up. Though I do need to factor in still paying off the Ioniq 5, but eventually it will make sense. -The size of the Ioniq 5 is about right. Classified as a SUV I guess, but it really just seems more like the size of a VW Golf or something like that. It's the perfect not too big, not too small size and I've never had a car that wasn't a standard trunk, I feel I have way more space now. I can clean the roof off without a step ladder, yet I can fold the seats down and sleep in the car like for camping and I'm 6' 2." -AWD is awesome. My old car was RWD, a 2018 Charger RT, and during rainy days it didn't cooperate if I wasn't careful, I also almost got stuck areas with it a couple times. Meanwhile I can floor it full throttle in the Ioniq 5 on a wet road and it doesn't care, though I do avoid that. I feel I could go into a somewhat snowy area on the tires it has now and be OK. -Something I wish my old car had was adaptive cruise control and yeah that has been amazing. I drive with that on most of the time now. Really this is one of the main things I looked for getting a new car and I wanted to make sure the SE trim had it. -The quiet. As much as I liked the noisy V8 I had before with my modified exhaust, it's nice to now just enjoy the quiet of the Ioniq 5 and I'm sure nearly everyone else feels the same. --------------------------------- Top 5 things I don't like: --------------------------------- -How did they make a modern car that can unlock and re-lock when I don't enter, which tells me it's capable of self locking, or warn me constantly that my door is unlocked on an app, but doesn't just LOCK THE DOOR. Car really needs a lock automatically when walking away feature. I feel like this could work on 22/23 models with a software update, just not sure why it hasn't been a thing yet. -Charging on a level 2 when it's hot is a problem. I have to set it to 60%, minimal as it was called, during the summer or it just stops entirely and this sucks. I wish it would just throttle the charge speed and not stop it entirely, I've had hours go by where it stopped and I didn't know it. I've learned to just keep it at the lowest charge for now and probably will have to keep it at that until late October. -No way to drop rear seats from the trunk. Not necessary by any means, but would have been a useful feature. -Nothing against the car on this one, but the few times I've charged using Electrify America it's worked.. but was kind of a pain to get it working. Charging for electric in general needs to improve and have a standard. From what I've heard this is where Tesla is way better. -As far as I know we still have no over the air updates in the US. ------------------------------------------------------- Here's some of the problems I've had:- ------------------------------------------------------ -Level 2 charging as I mentioned already. -Pressing button on the charging door does nothing most of the time. I have to use the remote. Not sure why the button doesn't work, I can clearly hear the button click, it just wont open. Still closes just fine so I may need to rig something to make it work. -USB port for playing music is on the way out. Mine randomly cuts out so I need to look at a replacement. -Once had the second screen go black and reset. Not the driver info screen but the other one. Only happened once, and that was a early in to when I got it. -Twice had the adaptive cruise just stopped working saying it was disabled. One day it was a little foggy so I get that, other day though it was clear but the sun was directly on the car so maybe that's why. Only had it twice and both early on when I got the car. ------------------------------------------------------------- My opinion on some common complaints: ------------------------------------------------------------- -Lack of rear wiper. To me this is not a concern at all. I've driven trucks & vans that have no rear view at all and were much larger, plus the Ioniq 5 has a great backup cam. So I don't see the need for this. I've shaded most of my rear window trying to cover it up from bright lights, so I actually want the rear window to be more covered, but that's just my opinion. -Heard the sound system in the car isn't great, but I think it's perfectly fine, the car is so quiet even on the highway you don't even need to crank the audio that much. -No wireless Apple CarePlay or Android Auto. Not a bother for me. -Small trunk space. To me it's plenty big, especially having the entire under section for storage. -Poor turn radius. Never been an issue for where I drive and park. ---------------------------------------------------------- Why the SE and not the SEL or Limited? ---------------------------------------------------------- I got the SE at the time because it's what they had, it's all they had. I would maybe have got the SEL but honestly none of the features in it impress me, maybe the auto rear hatch but that's really it. I didn't even consider the Limited, I sure as heck don't want a sun roof. Don't care about heads up display or any of that, and they actually loose space in the rear truck under area due to a large subwoofer, I feel like that's a negative.

Very nice car to drive

Vehicle looks good, drives good and seems reliable. However I have owned the vehicle for 1 year and there have been 3 recalls, which seems very high. The majority of my previously owned vehicles didn't even have 1 recall and I owned some of them for over 10 years.

Fun to drive

This car is fun, responsive and has absolutely amazing storage capability when putting the back seats down. I drive a lot, so having a quiet smooth ride has definitely improved the quality of my daily life and I absolutely love never having to go to the gas station- it's a game changer!
