Drives well. Software and controls need work

The car is comfortable, even for long trips. It handles well both in the city and on the highway. It has good acceleration and braking. Its main faults are in the software, especially navigation and interior comfort, and visibility of controls. Most of the time we have connected a phone and used android auto to bypass the internal navigation system. The most glaring and almost criminal defect is the lack of a rear windshield wiper. This severely limits rear vision in bad weather.

Overall very good car but has issues and customer service is not good.

I love driving this car. It’s an excellent ride and has more features than any car I’ve ever had. I did have a recall for the 12v battery, which is critical to operating the car. I also had a sensor fail at 24k miles, which really shouldn’t happen. To get it fixed, I tried making an appointment online but the site wouldn’t let me select a date and time. I called the dealer and was immediately put on hold “for a second”. I made my lunch, did some housecleaning, played with the dog and finally drove yo the dealership. I was still on hold when I walked in and the employees were just sitting there after the morning rush. They tried to be polite but really didn’t want to acknowledge their poor service. On top of that, I’ve taken my car in for service but the Hyundai system isn’t updating, so I get noticed saying my car is overdue. The dealer said they can’t help me but offered me a phone number to call for that. I was too frustrated with them to act but I probably should go through further frustration trying to resolve that as well.

Wonderful in every way.

I love this car. I thought a decent EV was unattainable but Hyundai made it easy and made it great. I've always been a point A to point B person but this car made me discover driving can be enjoyable. The performance is absolutely incredible for a vehicle at its price point- acceleration in sport mode is so quick it's almost scary! About the most negative thing I can say is the lack of a rear window wiper is a downside but it's a minor weakness. I firmly believe if a doubter actually gave this car a test drive they'd be convinced of how awesome the EV experience can be. Efficiency doesn't have to be boring!

Reliable EV with Style

Ioniq 5 is a very reliable EV that handles well. Very spacious and comfortable. Wish it had wireless CarPlay, but not a deal breaker at all. Good range. Never worried about being stranded.

Leased first electric vehicle and I'm impressed

We leased the iOniq5 to introduce ourselves to an electric vehicle. Yes, it took time to get used to a charging cadence but we were able to manage 300-450 mile trips with fair ease and planning. The interior is spacious. The range is adequate and manageable. Charging quick. The ride and driving is smooth. I'm not fond of so many alerts and the auto-stop is jarring but I can see how it would be helpful. Not so much for a long time driver used to living on a busy street. I would lease this again, especially if the free charging for 2 years is an option. Added deal since gas prices are so high.

Perfect Car for Us

Our IONIQ5 is a joy to drive. We love all the safety features. The older we get the safer we feel with all the futurist safety features. Perfect car for driving around town and there are always new EVSE - charging stations - opening. It is not as expensive as purchasing gas for trips around town.

It’s not a Tesla (it’s better)

The SE is a base model, but it is very well equipped with features like adaptive cruise control, lane centering assist, two wide display panels. It’s crazy fast and really fun to drive.

Worst Experience Ever

The car maybe ok, but I have had the worst experience ever dealing with Hyundai and Hyundai Finance compared to any other product I ever purchased in past 30 years. I will be going out of the way to share my bad experience with people and making them stay away from the Hyundai/Kia brands

Love this car!

I have really enjoyed having this car! It works so well for me - I mainly use it to go to and from work. The only issue I have with it is literally that it doesn't have a rear window windscreen wiper - which is certainly not a deal breaker. It is easy to charge, and handles so well on the road.
