Good, but missing some obvious wins

Overall it’s a great vehicle and I don’t regret buying it. There are some really nice things about it and some things that are annoying come from other vehicles, but overall it’s good

So much to love but some deal breaker issues: will keep us from buying at end of lease: 1. Shallow trunk space 2. Poorly visible climate controls 3. Difficult adjust A/C vents (constantly fiddling with)

Enjoyable drive, but glitchy and poor UX software.

The car drives well, although I've driven it only 186 miles and haven't used all of the cars features in a variety of driving scenarios. The car's software - including onboard software, the digital key, and the phone app - is glitchy, slow, or a poor user experience.

Many features, but complicated to figure out how to use all of them.

I am a pretty tech savvy person, but the learning to curve for operating this vehicle is much to steep. I don't want to invest so much time in learning how to operate my car. I would like to be able to just get in my car and go.

Could be better

Constant issues with auto trunk. Have to manually open and shut it all the time. Range is not much better than last year models. The lumbar support is terrible, never stays, and isn’t great in general.

Wanting to like

Thought this would be my dream car. Had the car first thing into the dealer because the modem did not work. So no blue link. It took 3 weeks to get back. Then the blue link was very slow it took 4 months to get resolution. I think it is working I’ve only had the car 4 months. Features I thought would be on my limited are not. It is frustrating

Decent vehicle, inconsistent experience and lacking expected functions

The vehicle works just fine, but it changes the drive experience regularly and cannot remember the drive settings between drives. This makes my driving experience inconsistent and unsafe. The vehicle moves forward and backward without input from the driver, the vehicle randomly decides when to be in iPedal 1-4, and it doesn't remember you setting between drives which entirely changes the driving mechanics and functionality of the vehicle. This makes my driving experience unsafe as when I expect it to be stopped, it automatically moves forward on it's own, and braking is inconsistent. When shifting to reverse it changes my iPedal setting yet again, despite having configured it in the same drive, so now my driving expectations are changed again...this is an unaccpetable and arguably unsafe experience. I won't buy another Hyundai if they keep up with this inconsistency. Beyond that, the digital key is half baked, works 75% of the time and never locks on walk away. They designed it specifically to not lock on walk away, but that's one of the most common features of these products for decades, even before digital key...so silly to not automatically lock when I'm not present, especially for a vehicle that advertises from afar it's lock/unlock status via it's door handles. Mechanically, the vehicle feels good, but lots of knocks, bangs and whistles under normal operation. With all windows closed there is a constant whistle that overpowers my stereo at a comfortable volume, the seat belt latches bang against the side of the interior, even when fully retracted...These are minor and I can live with them, but I won't buy another Hyundai due to these issues as well...

Bought as a city driver, not nimble enough nor fitted appropriately

The I5 has an astoundingly large 40' turning radius, larger than most vehicles both inside and outside its class. Thus, a car seen by us as a "city driver", which would imply nimbleness during tight street driving, turning and parking, is not engineered to be nimble and can be a daily pain point. A common city use is shopping, so why doesn't this vehicle have hooks in the walls of the cargo area to secure grocery bag handles? I hate when my bags tumble, and melons are rolling around the cargo area crushing my eggs in the next tumbled bag over. The stiff ride of the "low frictional" tires are not softened sufficiently by the suspension, thus while driving city roads with their ubiquitous potholes and construction bumps this vehicle has a decidedly jarring ride (there goes those groceries again!). Lastly, not city driving related, the vehicle had subtle panel dents when we picked it up (had to have the right light to see them), the dealer tried and said they could not fix it. They provided a "We Owe" documenting the damage so upon lease return we would not be held accountable for that damage. But an obvious and unsettling manufacturing flaw.

Love the car, but the infotainment screen died on us

The Hyundai Ioniq drives superbly, and we love using it. But after 2,000 miles, the infotainment screen died and it has taken over a week to get it fixed (still not done).

Ioniq 5N Blue control lights

The Ioniq 5N is great, but I can't see the controls for the heating and air conditioning because the lights are blue. Blue does not show up in daylight. The lights need to be white of red in order to see them in the daytime. There is no way to change the color on the N model.

Lots of lack of attention to detail

A few panels are loose on the outside of the vehicle around the doors. The interior is very comfortable but you can see lack of attention to details, as if the assembly was done quickly and without thorough quality control e.g. seat leather around the headrest height adjustment is not form fitting and so shows the foam from the seat.

Great EV, But a Major Reliability Scare on a Brand-New Car

I absolutely love the way my 2025 Ioniq 5 drives. The design, interior comfort, tech, and everyday efficiency are outstanding and exactly what I wanted in an EV. Unfortunately, at under 1,500 miles the car displayed a Check Electric Vehicle System warning and the dealer confirmed a failed ICCU, a problem that is WELL known to Hyundai. This isn’t an old car: it was built in April 2025 at the Georgia Metaplant, so it’s disappointing that a brand-new model year is still shipping with the defective component. The good news is that the dealer arranged warranty coverage and an ICCU replacement, and Hyundai’s EV powertrain warranty is solid. But the experience shook my confidence: I don’t expect a critical power-train part to fail so soon into the life of a vehicle. Hyundai, I love this car and hope the updated ICCU truly resolves the issue and that you can figure out this issue on new builds so other owners don’t have to go through the same ordeal.

some software problems and placement of cameras not optimal

I don't really like the camera screens being behind the steering wheel. They're very often hidden and my eyes don't naturally go there to find them. They should be on the main screen. Also, my car's auto windshield wipers don't work. I have to do it all manually. To get it serviced., I have to let the service department have the car for 24 hours! That's hard to plan for!
