Awesome Vehicle, but flaws should have been fixed before release

This is one great vehicle, range is great, NACS make it easier to travel, everything about it makes a great family vehicle, you will find lots of great reviews and reasons why to buy, but it has its flaws, some might be bigger than others and some have no reason to be, since this is basically an upgraded EV9 that has been on the market for several years (I owned one) The rear view mirror is useless during rain, the camera will go blank randomly, this never happened on my EV9, but the placment of the camera mid gate, first make it easy for water to full the camera sensor and the view makes zero sense, no one looks at their rear view to see car grills. This patform still have the same vibration at 70MPH as the EV9 does. No 7 seater on upper trims, I guess people that like to have more kids or carry friends do not deserve upscale trims... the Auto regen, useless, it slows randomly and do not acccounts for you braking, it literaly will hard slow the vehicle even tho you are already braking. Accessories, for the US, basically none, the rst of the world have them, but not available in the USA, specially no option to have towing already in stock. So, is a great vehicle, if you can live with the issues.

Could be perfect

To start great car, the ride and tech is comparable and possibly better than some top brands. However there are little details that show it's not completely luxury as the rear view camera quality is not that good. I also own a Cadillac so my point of view is from being used to their camera. The Ai starts listening without me saying hey Hyundai that annoying when playing music or getting map directions. The buttons on my passenger seat pops out of the socket and one of my passenger door handle is crooked. One more thing not sure if its a setting but sometimes when my charge is low and I have directions say to my house it would redirect me to the nearest charge station without notifying me or giving me a choice. Outside of that I love this car and may consider leasing the next version if these issues are fixed. Oh, and this would be a wish list the turn radius on this car is not superb it would be great if the add the new crab walk features that some other companies are introducing. One more thing the powered seats need to identify if someone is sitting in it or in the way for some automated functions that can squeeze a person. For example while getting in the back seat someone accidentally hit the return to seated position on the chair I was passing behind and it squeezed me between the chair and the door entrance.

Good car, but poor craftsmanship

The Ioniq 9 is a fun car to drive, but poor craftsmanship from the factory have resulted in doors jamming, chipped paint, and chipped trim pieces.

Great handling and performance. Build/material is meh.

I love the way this car drives, it’s why I bought it. It handles like a sports car with great acceleration - I definitely don’t feel like I’m driving a “mom vehicle.” This is the first Hyundai vehicle to use aluminum fenders and side panels and it’s definitely a horrible decision. The car creaks and groans going over uneven surfaces and there’s nothing you can do about it. It’s worse when the metal heats up. I hate high pitch noises/squeaks and you can’t get away from this noise every time you drive. It did not sound like this during the test drives and showed up to stay after the car had 1,000 miles on it. Buyer beware.

Ioniq 9 review

Poor front end design, plastic across all front end is poor design. Right where it is bound to be hit by road debris and easily cracked. Tiny cracks allow moisture in and condensation forms, with only solution being to replace $1200.00 part and pay for labor to replace. Only to be hit again and causing a never ending cycle

Charging and lane assist issues

We have the Tesla port on the Ioniq 9 but I can't just pull up to any Tesla station to charge and now I'm having issues with the Tesla charging station I was able to charge with before. We were using our home charger provided by Hyundai and it seems to have stop charging for some reason. We previously owned a Kia Sorento with perfect lane assist but it seems the Ioniq and the EV9 can't figure out exactly how to center to that lane.

Less than 2000 miles in: TURTLE MODE!

Car reports, literally, nothing wrong yet here I am with basically a useless vehicle. Super disappointed that I have to deal with this issue at a dealership I don’t like.

Amazing, but too many quality issues and horrible support from Hyundai

Amazing car. Love the range, comfort, NACS access, autonomous driving features, mix of options at this Trim (SEL). Unfortunately the car has had 4 different quality issues so far (control panel on seat popped out, paint peeling off front bumper, felt peeling off seatbelt buckle, trim lifting off rear passenger window). Hyundai and my local dealer denied addressing these issues, saying that the dealership I purchased at was responsible for addressing. This dealership is 50+ miles away from me... Why doesn't Hyundai own it's own quality?? It was a perpetual argument with the dealership to get the issues addressed as well with some sort of compensation for the mileage (I'm on a lease...every mile counts).

And my vehicle 66 days went it threw a coat of P1 8300. It is broken down sitting at Stevenson Frederick where it’s been since August 19 and now I’m being told it’ll B3 to 4 months before I can see my vehicle back. Plus, Hyundai thinks I need to be paying for a vehicle that there’s no longer in my possession and I can’t even drive

Warped paint, bad customer service

very underwhelming, car was great until I had to deal with the company and their reps. I was quickly made to be an afterthought. What’s a cool car that is warped paint in less than 2 weeks of owning it and to date has yet to be rectified.

Great car , but expensive

The car drives very well and has good performance, but the cost is too high. My lease is $1,625 per month on a 3-year contract, and if I want to buy it after, it will cost about $40,000 more. On top of that, tags and fees are expensive. The vehicle itself is good, but the price makes it difficult to recommend.
