Great Choice

after 1 yr, I still love my Ioniq. It rides smooth and has GREAT gas mileage. I like the hybrid b/c I do not have to charge it myself. No worries about finding a charging station. I am concerned about long term costs so I leased instead of purchased

Disappointed after 18,000 miles and 2 check engine lights

I bought this to replace a 19 SEL that had proven problematic. The sales team was amazing,so I got the 20 to replace it. Now I’m on the second engine light this month. Disappointed with the Hyundai brand. I should have known better. There’s a reason we don’t see old Hyundais on the road, why they’re priced so attractively, and why their resale is miserable.

My Ioniq

I traded my 2014 Mustang 6 cylinder engine for a 2020 Ioniq HEV. The 2 cars could not be any different. Regardless, I love my Ioniq! It has more cargo space than the Mustang, and I use EVERY safely feature it’s equipped with. The sound system is great ( certainly rivals the Mustang) and the fuel economy is phenomenal!

Great little car for full EV

Great car for getting into the EV scene. It doesn't have the highest range out there but for the price you can't really beat it. I've stuffed a bunch in this car because it's a hatchback, performance is great and with chargepoints popping up everywhere it's getting easier to own one of these cars. Got a great deal because the new model was coming out. Can't say if the new model will be any good but this generation is good. Scoop one up used and you won't be dissappointed.

Great car

I have had this car for a year and it drives great. It gets great mpg and drives smoothly. It handles well in all weather conditions. The automatic lights and high beams are a really cool feature. I love this car!

12V Hurts This Vehicle

The 12v system has no dedicated battery, and can fail to respond at times. The 12V reset button in the interior of the vehicle, next to the steering wheel, must be used when this happened. Overall the car drives and feels great to drive. The efficiency is good but could be better, and I've rarely seen the EV battery go above 60%.

It’s fine

I’m very happy with my Ioniq! I loved my Scarlet Red 2017 sonata Sport with only 31,000 miles on it. But some jerk rearended me and total it! I took it to the Hatchett Hyundai Body Shop the next day, saw the Ioniq that Wednesday, December 9th, returned on Saturday, December 12th and purchased it! Didn’t realize the liftback would be so hard for me to open and close or I’d have gotten another Sonata.

Amazing fuel economy!

We honestly love the Hyundai Ionic. When we were shopping for a fuel efficient vehicle for me to commute to work, we did not think a hybrid was within our price range. When we visited the Hyundai dealership we found the Ionic. I was completely unfamiliar with the Ionic, but knew Hyundai had a good reputation as a automaker. We are so very please with this car. I cannot say enough positive things about the Hyundai Ionic. It is the best car I have ever purchased.

Great value

Good choice for someone looking for value (price, 50+mpg, reliability, dealership), good styling and many bells and whistles. Friends highly recommended Hyundai, not knowing about the Ioniq model. Easy to drive and park.

Lies on fuel mileage.

You’ll never get the actual fuel mileage they advertise on this car. Unfortunately that was why I purchased the vehicle. Everything else is amazing about this car. Hyundai just doesn’t know how to get more than 38-48 MPG on a 55-59 MPG vehicle as advertised.

Very satisfied

Owned for 3 months, so far so great! Car is comfortable to drive, not too soft or harsh. Engine is very quiet. I can usually manipulate throttle to switch to electric to optimize MPG. So far, overall MPG average is 52mpg with 85% economy driving. Even though a hatch, the car feels like a midsize sedan in size. Feels sturdy, much more secure road handling than my prior 2016 Elantra.

1 year review on my 2020 IONIQ

I traded in a 2018 Elantra for this 2020 IONIQ. What an improvement, this car rides awesome. Cabin noise is very low. The info center with apple carplay is flawless. The backup camera is very clear and can see behind the excellent. This Hybrid engine setup is perfectly balanced, car has plenty of power for the highway and is very efficient in town. I drive 140 miles a day to work and I get 55 MPG on the highway, in town driving I get up to 65-70 MPG. My next vehicle will be another IONIQ or the new Sante Fe pickup in hybrid. I recommend any Hyandai you pick these vehicle line ups are perfect with amenities and are not over priced.

Love the gas mileage. The car handles well and is not a large vehicle.

Very happy with my car the gas mileage is great very pleased it is a hybrid don’t have to stop and wait longer to get it refueled as with all electric car the car is handling well it it is also a smaller car and because I am a older women it is easier to get in and out of

Reliable, cost-effective, highly recommended

We are happy with the car. There have been no issues with the Ioniq since we acquired it a year ago. It costs much less to operate than a car that runs on gasoline. The range between recharges is acceptable, but would be better if it were at least 250 miles between charges.

Great Vechicle at great price!

Love everything about the car. There’s High tech infotainment system plus Bluelink. Bluelink was trash until mid November 2021, remote start never worked or if it did it would take 1-2 full minutes to start or let you know that it wasn’t successful. They updated the app around November 9 2021 and everything works smoothly and within a few seconds my car is started.

The Perfect Introduction to EV driving

Readers: This writer is a Very Long Time I.C.E. owner. I traded a Ridgeline for this ALL electrick Ioniq base model. I have had it a total of 04 days--and would never go back to an I.C.E auto.It suits my short driving trips and habits, I can get in and out of it with my mobility issues. It has good visibility in all directions save the back of it, which is marginal. The seats are decent and useful, but not the best as I have had in the past. The controls are as is a gas auto, which is a good idea for those transitioning from a gas car, and for us tech-phobs. Even the 'feed port' is as a gas auto. The whole experience feels natural to a former gas car driver. This is perfect, it allows you to re-wire your brain to think "EV charge Points" and not "the next gas station". That is the biggest challenge, to convert your thinking to electrick. The interior layout is pleasant and well thought out. All the controls are logical and easy to use. A big plus is the shift buttons with the dandy wrist rest, very useful idea. The ride is quite good, the handling is very good, and the range is about right to the gage number. It is said that if you put 'real tyres' on these, the ride improves quite a bit. The "low rolling friction' ones on it are for the marketing folks to say better mileage. The real tyres take but less than 02% off the range. The idea of 'low friction' in the rain and or snow, does not have an appeal to me. IF you buy one, get the top trim level. It has the Nav. system that has the charging stations on it. The base model does not. So are you looking for an entry level EV with less range and less price? This is the one to buy.

nice gas sipper

nice thing about PHEV is that if your daily trip is below the electric mileage, you can just charge the car everyday and your PHEV is basically an electric car. however, this ioniq like to have its engine kicking in sometimes... (when ac running, etc)

Nice Vehicle for the price !

This vehicle has a lot of potential, however the interior looks and feels cheap. Very plastic everything, not good finishes in the interior of the vehicle. I think for the price, the car should have a better feel of the interior.
