Bad mileage

I only get 33 miles per gallon. Very bad gas mileage for a hybrid.But a Prius. And do not buy a white car because your dashboard will be light gray and it will reflect in the windshield. But a Prius. But a Prius.

Fantastic vehicle

Unbelievable gas mileage. Comfortable ride. Quality build. I believe this is the best smaller hybrid car on the road. The fact that this car is not more aggressively marketed is unbelievable to me. Hyundai is definitely dropping the ball on this car.

Passenger window exploded

About a week after we bought the car, the passenger side window exploded into thousands of little pieces out of the blue. Luckily, no one was sitting there at the time. Naturally we couldn't take the risk that that would happen again. We sold the car back to the dealer at a loss of $5633. We will, of course, NEVER buy another Hyundai.

I wish I never bought the piece of junk. Drive around for a few minutes and the motor sucks the battery dry. I can't login to the apps. I called the 1-855 number and received no help. I wouldn't recommend this vehicle.

Did not meet my expectations!

No brakes. Heater doesn’t work properly. Stoped charging in two months.I’d been waiting for a month to get it fixed.nobody ever called me for that period from Hyundai to inform me on the status of my case!

Buy a Prius instead

The 2020 was my 2nd new Hyundai Ioniq, I bought it to replace the 2019 Hyundai Ioniq that needed a transmission by 27,000 miles and then a fuel injector shortly after. The 2020 made it a little past 22,000 miles and developed a check engine light that Johnson Hyundai of Cary couldn’t properly diagnose or remediate without keeping the car, but was “unable” to provide me a loaner car. The dealership then low-balled me on their trade-in offer when I went to sell it back to them for a vehicle of another brand, couldn’t offer any further support when the check engine light returned several times after the initial “radio code” that they couldn’t fix, so I waited for the light to turn off so I could trade it in to a dealership that gave me a better trade-in amount (still had to eat several thousands in negative equity), and I now have a 14 year old Mazda but no check engine light.

2020 Hyundai Ioniq doesn't get published milage

The car is comfortable and the defroster works great. The mileage is not what is advertised. The seats are comfortable, the back seat will not fit a tall person. The hatchback is great for groceries. The mileage is terrible.

Fuel Economy Issue

Overall we like the vehicle, however, the fuel economy is not as expected. I’m not an aggressive driver by any means and I’m getting an average of 37mpg, when the EPA estimate is like 54mpg. Typically I do get a few miles below EPA estimates on my vehicles, but this difference is quite significant.

Fuel mileage inaccurate

The car is amazing in trunk storage and tech features. The app and wireless key fob work great. My main concern is the fuel mileage. I have yet to get above 50 mpg when I reset my trip button each week or go on long weekend trips. The maximum I ever got was 47, and this car claims to get 55.

Love the vehicle just not the electic version

I really love this car it's just the electric version of this vehicle and lack of charging stations, apps you have to download/access to be able to charge, and not to mention it's not cheap and charging times drags it down. As I've said in the beginning of this survey, "Time is Money" and the wasted time sitting at several charging stations when going on a 3, 4 5 hour trip like we did going to Maine (when you can find them) is an absolute nightmare. If I had known it was going to be like this I would have NEVER purchased it.

Nice Vehicle for the price !

This vehicle has a lot of potential, however the interior looks and feels cheap. Very plastic everything, not good finishes in the interior of the vehicle. I think for the price, the car should have a better feel of the interior.

Lies on fuel mileage.

You’ll never get the actual fuel mileage they advertise on this car. Unfortunately that was why I purchased the vehicle. Everything else is amazing about this car. Hyundai just doesn’t know how to get more than 38-48 MPG on a 55-59 MPG vehicle as advertised.

Disappointed after 18,000 miles and 2 check engine lights

I bought this to replace a 19 SEL that had proven problematic. The sales team was amazing,so I got the 20 to replace it. Now I’m on the second engine light this month. Disappointed with the Hyundai brand. I should have known better. There’s a reason we don’t see old Hyundais on the road, why they’re priced so attractively, and why their resale is miserable.

Good Compact Car

When I bought the car was very nice after 5000 miles, then start making a horrible noise CRANK, CRANK some time to time. I was thinking that it was transmission issue. I took the car to the dealer they told me the car has not problem, so the horrible noise continued. Scary.

Great car with excellent mileage

didn't think I would like this car as much as I did. The ride was nice and smooth. Interior controls right where you want them, Apple Carplay is a big plus for me. Excellent mileage!! Just a well put together car.

Good choice for a reasonably priced EV

The Ioniq is my 4th EV. So far I like it quite a bit - it drives well and looks and feels more like a regular car than many other EVs. It has a decent list of features, including safety features, for the price. One key reason I purchased the Ioniq is that it is the most energy-efficient EV and so far it did not disappoint: it indeed uses the least electricity per mile of the 4 EVs I owned.

Great Vehicle

This is a base model with some really nice features. The lane assist is really nice. The Auto lights automatically dims when cars approach. This is an excellent choice for anyone wanting a 2020 hybrid. The only thing that gets me is the fact the hatchback does not pop open when you press the trunk button on the keys. Also it would be nice to have the auto start feature available on the BlueLink app. I would think in 2020 this would be standard. I hope they come out with this in the future as a software upgrade possibly? The only other thing (and I'm getting picky here...) the hubcaps are ugly. They look spacey I guess cause of the hybrid, but its not a good look in my opinion.

Really fine. This is my second IONIQ. I don’t like it as well as I did my first one. I have an annoying WHINING noise that I am being told there is noting they can do.

Vehicle is OK compared to my other IONIQ, but I get about 4 to 5 mpg less than my 2018 and the whining is very annoying. I am 71 years old. Even at that age, my IONIQ is comfortable and very easy to get in and out fairly easy. I traded an F250 and went from about 16. MOG to 60MOG with my 2018.

Enjoy the vehicle very much. Handles well and the gas mileage is great. The warranty is good and the free maintenance for 36,000 miles is a plus. The only negative is blind spots when driving on the highway.

Great value. Very nice car for the money. EV is the only way to go. We need better infrastructure to support EV charging. EV range could be better. Navigation should be built in. Don't like the bar that blocks view out rear window.
