I don't get anywhere near the advertised mpg.

Driving in a mostly conservative manner, I consistently get a combined MPG of around 46MPG. In SPORT mode, it's about 12% worse. It's quite peppy in sports mode which makes it more fun to drive. I do enjoy it's many features but am disappointed it doesn't have emergency braking. I have the top of the line model too.

2017 Ioniq

My first hybrid vehicle and the extras I got with my SEL trim made me feel like I made a good choice. Just wish I waited a year to get Drive Assist instead of settling for the Lane Departure Warning.

Very satisfied with car trim, power, and gas mileage. Recommend cup holders installed in front of vents to keep water chilled in warm weather. Would also suggest rear camera access during driving and left mirror camera.

Ioniq 2017

While no car is perfect I would have to say this car is close. While I do not get the gas millage listed on the factory sticker I am getting in the low 50. The car does have some of the new features out there but not all. The car is not a sports car but does have good pickup to get you around other cars and where you need to go. The price is fair to what you are getting overall and I do believe you would be satisfied. Please sit in the car seat and test it for comfort, mine seems to below the current standard for this type/class of car.

How Ioniq

Very good value for the money . Gas mileage exceeds expectations. Why do you keep making me write more just to fill up a box? Fewer comments the better I always say. However you folks would like me to just drone on and on!

Better than most with respect to value. Presently, I have 21,300 miles with no failures of any type. Summer fuel economy consistently 62 -67 mpg. Last winter fuel economy consistently 53 - 58 mpg.

Love hate relationship so far

Love the car, hate the recalls. I have a 2017 Ionic and recall number 2 is due to launch June 15th 2018. Most concerning however is how my car died at Newark Airport due to a failed Power relay assembly. The car just stopped. I was in a lane of traffic at a busy airport on a holiday. Had to get it towed to a dealership because !HEV came on and owner manual said it needed to go to a dealership. I was left stranded and had to call an UBER to get home. On a good note, Hyundai Corporate was very good to me. I still love the car and hope this will be the last of the issues.

Great car

This car is fun to drive, economical, comfortable and nice looking. It has plenty of go power and a good steering response. My particular car has a couple 'quirks or may be problems' that haven't been resolved it.

MPG is amazing

I drive a lot! So MPG was super important to me when buying. I read an article about the mog on the Ioniq and decided to go for it. Comparing to a Prius and Volt it gets better MPG and is less expensive.

Very Happy w/ My Ioniq

This has been a great car so far. I'm in love with the mpg. My biggest issue has been with the breaking of the vehicle, which seems to have been an electric motor problem. This was fixed during the recall. Since then, the problem has only occurred twice - the car comes to a sudden and jerky stop when braking. Other glitches happen occasionally, but not consistently. Love the interior design. I think the vehicle looks great from the front and sides, but the back is kind of boring. Would definitely recommend this vehicle to a friend. The warranty was a huge factor in making my decision. I feel confident that if a problem were ever to arise that it would be resolved without an issue.

Not bad

Great Fuel Economy and much better the Prius in the snow, needs more leg room, could be easier to get in & out of. Does not even come with a jack, space tire, or floor mats. No options for body side moldings...

Good mpg

I love the fact that I get over 600 miles a tank. The most I’ve gotten out of a full gas tank is 670 miles. Not bad. One thing I don’t like is the estimated miles displayed on the dash. It’s always wrong. I’ll drive a mile and the display shows I’ve driven 10 miles. The estimated mileage is wrong but at the end of the gas tank it reaches closer to the estimate. I still wish it was closer to the actual miles driven though. I also wish it had more horsepower.

Excellent Hybrid Car from Hyundai

Great mileage vehicle. Excellent hybrid car from Hyundai. Easy to handle and good size monitor for music apps and backup camera. Very simple and easy to drive. Great commuter if long distance. Hatchback rear door does not pop up open by remote and A bit of disappointment

Ioniq

The gas mileage is great during warm weather but plunges during cold weather. Th interior is made up of poor plastic. The bumpers as well. The price is too high. I hope the new models specially the ioniq electric-hybrid get improved.

The overall quality is good.the car handles well and is comfortable. I like the size. The Santa Fe was too big for me. Switching from hybrid to gas engine and back can be rough, hesitant. Road noise is more then I expected.

First Hybrid/Hyundai Car

2017 Hyundai Ioniq My favorite aspect of this car is the hybrid/gas - saving features!!! I almost didn't purchase it because of the rear window ----- & after over 7 months of driving this 2017 Ioniq, I STILL don't like the rear window!!!! I appreciate the ergonomics of efficiency incorporated into the car design. Nevertheless, it cuts into (or rather cuts out) visibility! My other challenge are the lights: I find that I need to rely on using bright lights to compensate for less than optimal brightness for me @ nighttime. These are my 2 main concerns that I would like the engineers to address. This car has less pickup power compared to my Subarus. Nevertheless, the hybrid benefits trump my former delights.

Sweet ride, hatchback bar and rear-view mirror...

It’s the perfect size for me and whatever I need to haul to and from home. I absolutely love how much gas I’m saving with this hybrid. It’s keepig me mindful of how I’m driving so I won’t waste so much gas. Driving at the pace of an old person ain’t so bad. My personal preference would be that the hatchback bar be replaced with impact windows or something clear so I can see everything in back of me. Also wish the range of motion of my rear-view mirror were better so I can adjust it upwards. Or maybe I should just lower my seat.

Best gas mileage ever

My Ionic gets 50+ mpg. It's very easy to drive and I am surprised at handling response. The exterior design is neat and clean lines . Rear view is not as good as I would like. There is a bar that blocks part of the view. I love my Hyundai.

2017 Ioniq

The car rides smooth and quiet- first Hybrid and glad I did not start with a Prius. It may be a car I eventually own where typically I lease them. Hoping since first model that there are no "bugs" and so far, things seem to be OK

Great sporty car! Awesome gas mileage and safety features and dash display!

After paying for itself in gas savings (averaging 50, occasionally 75 MPG, but only 40 MPG on frigid days!), my favorite thing about this car, is it's vivid, crisp LARGE dash display with live animation of engine and electric power generation, and fuel economy, miles to empty, temp, tire pressure, trip, and timer. It needs a current TOTAL timer, displaying TOTAL HOURS that it has been DRIVEN vs. TOTAL HOURS that it has been ON (idling, but not being driven), and a GRAND TOTAL of HOURS DRIVEN + ON (idling), just like it displays current TOTAL MILEAGE. It is unclear how it calculates average speed on the trip meter. I'd like a GRAND TOTAL METER, in addition to the resettable Trip Meters, A & B. I'd like the ability to ADD internet connectivity after purchase. I LOVE the BLIND SPOT PROTECTION, electric seats and mirrors, seat heater, & LOVE the removable, washable, silicone mats inside the cup holders, and door crevices! I wish my car came with the wireless charger. I love the adjustable steering wheel and love the sporty interior and exterior. When I got it, THE BODY LINES were FLAWLESS! After Michigan's harsh roads, they are no longer so impressively perfect. My tires do go low occasionally, but I'm happy for the tire pressure dash reading and alert system for each tire. I love the animations for ajar doors and other hazards. The DISPLAY is EXCEPTIONAL! The rear camera picture is amazingly clear! It beeps in reverse and beeps when cars are near. I'd love a front beep detector or camera to see or alert you to objects in front, like curbs, poles, & objects; the car sits very low, so these are hard to see, and the bumper easily gets caught up and scrapes on big curbs. Overall, I'm happy driving this sporty, economy car! I love the price, under $20,000. and all the technology for economy and safety and is made with sustainable components. I appreciate the diligence taken in the manufacturing process. My only complaint is that the pinstripes immediately began to wear off, a little more each trip through the new soft-cloth car wash. The car wash said it was not their fault: all new equipment, no other complaints. I agree. The stripes were not applied on a ready surface. I'm ashamed of the exterior now with partially worn off pinstripes. A different dealership investigated and said that pinstripes are not applied at the factory but were applied at a dealership. The dealership where I got the car, said they did not put them on and could not warranty them. I persisted and the Sales Manager said he will investigate a solution for me. Otherwise, I LOVE this SPORTY, WONDERFULLY PRICED, HIGH TECH, HIGH MPG, STYLISH, COMFORTABLE and VERSATILE car! For a hybrid, it has way more power than expected and has done over 100 MPG without shaking or showing distress. It has plenty of passing and acceleration speed. The breaking seems a bit scary sometimes, though, on sudden stops. (Not sure what to make of that.)
