Great car

Great car but has some issues with it being the first model. Not having a navigation system is a huge failure if the phone features fail. Only the top model has it. The rear spoiler does make it hard to see but putting down one of the seats helps that. The car is really comfortable and the gas savings are insane!

Great car but

Great car but it lacks a navigation system in the first two models it also has blind spots because of the spoiler and all the features of the phone messaging system don't always work also the map system doesn't always work I have to use my phone unsafely and there's nowhere to store it it also doesn't seem to charge your phone when you're using the map system and it's plugged in. The car is really comfortable to ride in the seats are really nice there is a lot of space in the back it's a whole lot faster than any hybrid I've driven coming off of a Prius C the speed was insane comparing the Prius C was really slow the ionic is actually really quick. I like the car but I would not buy it again without navigation system I actually regret not buying that one with a navigation system I purchased the second tier of the car and being that there are only three tears I thought I was doing well but I would not purchase the car without a navigation system because of failures that go on with the Phone features overall I'm happy with the car but unhappy with some of the features that don't work all the time.

Great Hybrid

Bought this vehicle as a commuter vehicle. Typicallt avdrage above 56 mpg. In addition, it o my costs approximately 20 dollars to fill the tank. The tech features of the vehicle are great with android auto and apple car play. Moroever, safety features such emergency braking and lane assist Re essential must haves.

Good, gas sipper

I bought the Ioniq because I wanted something that was very good on gas. It is, but not quite as good as advertised. Hyundai states it gets 59 MPG, but I get around 49 MPG. I do have several stop lights and slow/in-the-way drivers that cause slow down/speed up, which kills MPG, so 49 might be real good.

Ioniq Hybrid

Great car. Very stylish and good with fuel saving. Its smooth drive and the features are great such as duel climate control. Inside space is great , it appears more compact from the outside but has plenty of room and the trunk space is quite big and the foldable seats make it even bigger.

Not quite the mileage as advertised! Car handles ok and drives well. Maybe needs more explanation on the operation of all the features that are supplied with vehicle. Overall satisfaction so far as the car is brand new !!

Mpg review

Considering what the Ioniq blue claims on highway mpg i have not come close to reaching that 55 to 57 mpg. Speed limits where I live are 70mph so staying at 70 while diving i average around 42-43 mpg.

Good car, bad manufacturer.

The car gets great gas mileage. The "optional" trunk/cargo cover is a serious flaw. The acceleration isn't fast, but that's expected in a hybrid. The heated seats are really good. Easy to drive, but not in cold temps. Nothing responds well to the cold of a Minnesota winter, this car is not an exception. A comfortable ride and the car looks great.

Economic, Energy-saving, and Cute

I love this car. It's comfortable, has all the features I need, and saves me an incredible amount of money in gas top-ups. It also helps me feel less guilty for the large amount of driving I do, as it is extremely energy efficient and thus reduces its ozone impact. I have, however, two criticisms. The first, it it has very low horsepower. If a semi-truck were to pull up beside or behind me, my ability to drive out of its way is not something I might be able to rely on. Second, it has a strange design through the back window which causes there to be a bar in the middle of the top and bottom window. I guess this is allow for larger area to be covered with less breakable glass? But it does take away some of the visual I have of what is directly behind me.

good

Good execution for your hybrid. Prefer CVT transmission. Slow acceleration initially. Once you get going it is fine. I have owned the C-Max & Prius in the past and I did like having a wiper on the rear hatch. Our first tank only yielded 45 mpg. Hopefully our driving adjustments will improve to the advertised 55 to 58 mpg. I like the driving style display to assist in improving our economical driving.

Great Value for the money!

The Hyundai Ioniq bills itself as the most fuel efficient hybrid in America, and I have to admit that an average mpg over 55.4 is pretty nice, giving me a range of well over 600 miles per tank. Add to that a comfortable interior that easily fits two full sized adults in the back seats (three if one is slender), a capacious trunk space, good visibility, great handling, and really decent acceleration (makes it easy to merge onto the freeways in LA, where I live), and the car is definitely a winner. The dashboard display on the 2017 took a little getting used to (it uses pages that you can toggle through), but once I got the hang of it, I love it -- it has all the essentials at my fingertips. The sound system that comes standard with the car is very good, and the voice recognition system that works with the Bluetooth phone connection is excellent. The styling is nice, visibility is good, and I love the rear back up camera and safety warning systems (which can be turned off if you prefer, but why? I love them!). All in all, very happy with my new car.

Features & lack of

Great features & gas mileage. Fun to drive. Nice features that missing are glove box lock, rear seat pocket (there’s only one), CD player (I know it’s old school). Additional features cost money, I know, but I feel these bring value so is a plus. Also adds virtually nothing to the weight of the car as to diminish its gas mileage rating.

AWESOME CAR!

Love this model and the fact that it's a Hybrid puts it over the top! A major repair was necessary within the first month I leased it, which was unsettling and inconvenient, otherwise I'd give it 5+ stars.

Nice car!

Nice car! I love the exterior and interior colors, but some elements of the exterior look cheap, specifically the front grille and rear bumper. The chrome outlines make the car look sharp. The Ioniq doesn’t seem to handle fantastically in the snow and cold weather greatly impacts the car’s average MPG.

Amazing overall car

The styling is vey mature and subtle. The technology offered in the limited trim is perfect. The lifetime warranty on the battery, bluelink are all great things that this car offers and of course the gas millage is the killer feature.

new car

it is a good car. I'm not thrilled with the seat heaters, which were very important to me. I think Hyundai should be giving free oil changes, especially for taking the time to fill out this survey. Displays are nice.

Many good features, but....

Let me start by saying that overall I am very pleased with my vehicle. There are, hovever, several issues that should be noted. First, the integrated GPS. I have documented 4 instances where the GPS has asked me to drive through brick walls, cross railroad tracks where there is no crossing and indicated that I have arrived at my destination while I am stopped across from it separated by a 25’ drainage ditch. No rear wiper. A hatchback without a rear wiper means that the driver cannot see out he back window in snow and rain. No spare tire, just an inflation kit. I guess the premise is that you NEVER get a blowout.

Great on gas

So far really enjoy gas savings of the car. The car is smooth and quiet. I only wish the silver color was a bit more vibrant or shiny. The setup was easy but still learning what it can do. I enjoy apple play and ease of controls. Wish I had the ability to upgrade my rear view mirror- totally disappointed that it is not an upgrade or option. Used to this feature on my other vehicle.

Hyundai Fans Trying their Newest Effort

My experience with a 2002 Sonata (sold to a friend and the first needed repair for the car a new alternator at 95,000 miles), current 2006 Azera with 75,000 miles and nearly flawless, brought us to the Ioniq when considering replacement for a 2011 Prius. This is more comfortable and conventional than the Prius, and the important to us interior space is just a bit larger than the Prius though it doesn't have the Prius no-lip hatchback loading - wish it did. I think that Hyundai's are quality cars and good value. Our previous two - and I usually take a Sonata or Elantra when given a rental choice - have been very competent, solid on the road and slightly interesting to drive. We took the Ioniq out on the interstate in a heavy rain last night, and, while it didn't feel as assured as my larger and heavier Azera, it was good enough for a smaller and lighter hybrid. We have one complaint so far: the abundance, variety and in your face-ness of all of its displays, and choices that need to be made about what you see behind the steering wheel and at the audio screen is overwhelming, confusing and distracting. One of the first times out of the driveway my wife drove into some shrubbery because she was distracted in trying to deal with all of the information trying to get her attention. Result from just a short scratch and damaged plastic style pieces on the door was 900 dollars. We've already run down the small battery (which is then recharged by the large battery) because the radio doesn't turn off after turning off the car without holding down the off button for a count of two. When you start the car and even if you have the display turned off you get a screen lecturing you to drive safely and requires that you press your agreement on the screen to remove the page and turn off the display. That's just insulting. When the display is on, even the minimal amount of information is a distraction from the job of looking over the steering wheel and driving down the road. Drives me nuts, and my wife into the shrubs. But that said, this is probably an excellent Hyundai version of hybrid. We're very happy to have it in the family so far.
